Chris Matthews is off to the NFL.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver, who was the CFL’s rookie of the year in 2012, will make a decision on which team he will join this afternoon. Matthews, 24, became a free agent on Tuesday and was weighing contract offers on both sides of the border.

“All the details will be ironed out today,” Matthews’ agent, Rodney Edwards, said this afternoon. “It’s down to two teams.” Edwards said no matter which deal Matthews takes, he will receive a signing bonus.

The Moore signing looking better as each day passes!  Glad we got him when we did and didn't stand around waiting for Edwards to retire and Matthews to go tp the NFL and then scramble to find a replacement.  Good luck to Matthews!

Yeah I would think that Walters knew damned well that Matthews was gone and Edwards was retiring before he even had the chance to try and sign Moore. 

The Nick Moore signing now looks huge. Edwards was likely making well over $120k per season and Matthews. $60k+. I hope we use that extra money to throw at Ted Laurent.

Well Walters said we had an offer out to Matthews, after Moore was signed. Use that money then for Laurent.
