February 5, 201412 yr Josh Bourke OT Ted Laurent DT Craig Butler S/LB All NIs, all free agents to be. Maybe we get lucky and sign one or two of them?
February 5, 201412 yr Bourke would be a dream. But any one of those would be a huge success, along with Drew Willy.
February 5, 201412 yr See now Bourke is a guy that you could justify over spending on. That being said, not sure you can overspend on easily the best non import left tackle in the CFL.
February 5, 201412 yr ...and if you have a plan for guys like this, THIS is why you don't drop a metric **** ton of cash on a 39 year old QB...
February 5, 201412 yr See now Bourke is a guy that you could justify over spending on. That being said, not sure you can overspend on easily the best non import left tackle in the CFL. I thought Bourke was a guard. If he plays left tackle, what would we do with January?

I thought Bourke was a guard. If he plays left tackle, what would we do with January? Move him to right tackle... he's played there before anyways. Or relegate him to backup and start 5 NI OL.
February 5, 201412 yr I'd go pretty hard after Laurent, but I think he's headed to the NFL. Butler lives in Vancouver...and BC's been looking for a NI safety since Tad Crawford started sucking.

February 5, 201412 yr How much would a guy like Bourke cost...starting QB money? Probably like $185,000-$200,000. Nobody is really desperate for NI tackles with the way most teams are using the ratio, and he's got injury concerns.

February 5, 201412 yr Not worth mortgaging the future for good football players. It does not make sense imo.

That being said, not sure you can overspend on easily the best non import left tackle in the CFL.How old is Bourke.... He's 31. Established in Montreal. Be hard to pry him out... We would have to overpay because he has roots in that city. Can't see that happening.
February 5, 201412 yr How about Shea Emry? I know most people don't like him, but he would help us with the ratio if and when Henoc leaves.
February 5, 201412 yr Emery might be easier to get just because he's an American & MAY not live there year round.... But I'd think he'd be an untouchable.
February 5, 201412 yr Emery might be easier to get just because he's an American & MAY not live there year round.... But I'd think he'd be an untouchable. Not an American. From Vancouver.
February 5, 201412 yr Yeah, right. Thanks as I forgot. Probably also established in Montreal.... Or Vancouver. Hard to pry Canadian CFL vets out of their cities if they have played there for a long time. have to pay significantly more. No hometown discount.

Hard to pry Canadian CFL vets out of their cities if they have played there for a long time. have to pay significantly more. No hometown discount. True but if we are saving money on a QB, and Henoc goes to the NFL, I imagine we'll have some cash to throw around. We need Canadian starters. By my count, if things stay the way they are, there are 6 Canadian starters from other teams that will hit free agency... Bourke, Laurent, Butler, Myddelton, Kohlert, and Emry. It would be nice to land one or more of those names.

That's ok then, we can trade his ass for Glenn, although Ottawa may already have one ass too many. (Burris - the new volley begins)
February 5, 201412 yr While I don't blame Hank for taking the money & running, he sure pisses off fanbases wherever he goes, doesn't he?
February 5, 201412 yr Josh Bourke, for those interested. Listed as a tackle. Click on career for a run down. http://en.montrealalouettes.com/roster/show/id/2471
