  1. I think BC is the better team, but with last week's loss being as huge a conference deflater as it was, I think they're really suffering hangover right now. Toronto is worse than 2013 us, but catch the Lions half tanking it and they could win. Brutal game so far though.
  2. But that's the point, I and a few others have been pretty consistent on criticizing Lapolice just as we did in the aftermath of last year's West Final. He pulled out the same play not to lose or wait for defense to cause turnover playbook that he's been infamous for again last night. It just seems that the Nichols detractors ignore this whenever he's struggling, but I'd be willing to bet they agree with it the moment anyone not named Nichols comes in. In other words, a cherry picked double standard. And yes as a poster a few posts back said, last night was proof in the pudding of why both Nichols talents and experience give us the best chance to win. That's what the detractors don't seem to get.
  3. Funny thing too how Streveler has an amazing 42 yards from just taking what the defense gave him. I can't quite think of the name for that kind of QB play but it seems to sound something like ... Errrr... Game manager Lol In all seriousness though this is why I have dubbed Lapolice as the owner of sub 300 passing QBs. This is what he does with his offenses and it's not unique to Nichols or Strev. And btw, I would NOT have blamed Strev if we had lost, but did he do any of the things that the Nichols detractors have been saying would happen if he was made starter? Nope.
  4. I'm starting my own forum

  5. **** this place ridiculous warning points

  6. Or even if they're not they're just unimpressive like Franklin. And I never had anything against Franklin, but I told people not to be reaching so high on a guy who pretty much came out in the same manner Arbuckle did today because he had never really had to show he could operate the controls week in and week out and command the huddle like a pro. We also seen Justin Goltz come out hot from the bench and throw those, Tanner Marsh do it, Jeff Matthews I believe may have done it once or twice, but yeah ... This is indeed true. Plus id be willing to bet Mr chip was high on at least a couple of those QBs he just mentioned before they flopped.
  7. I don't say stupid **** like Arbuckle is the fifth best QB in the league based on two drives against a lazy BC defense that also blundered an onside kick. Fifth best QB my ***. Now what? Should the Stamps already replace Bo Levi as starter now based on just two drives? Man don't be saying stupid **** about my ability to assess QBs when you just said the dumbest thing ever here. Has Arbuckle ever started and won a full game? Has he ever started all 18 games in a season? Until he does you should just STFU
  8. He should have brought a younger more innovative guy to call the shots on defense. Stubler is a dinosaur whose defenses have been defective over the last few years and I'd say he's done now. I'm just not drinking this Arbuckle coolaid when just about any QB can throw prayers up like that and see WRs come down against awful positioned DBs.
  9. You did not just seriously call Arbuckle an elite QB. That was awful defensive scheming by BC at the end there with a little luck by the CGY special teams. Rich Stubler should seriously retire now, cuz he's ******* lost it out there.
  10. Rookie HC mistake there, I don't blame Claybrooks, but that's why most HCs take the sure points
  11. I just hope BC didn't suddenly lose their MO though on that drive by the Stamps. Wouldn't be the first time they had a lead this year and blew it.
  12. Huge for us. Leaves us alone at the top with both BC and CGY 2 games behind. Not to jump the gun on the season, but this game is making our W vs Edmonton look even better so far.
  13. I agree here, the Redblacks don't have a good defense and the offense should be able to score quite a few points in what might be a shootout. But that word "piss-poor" is highly subjective around here and some people got some real extreme interpretations of it such as any passing yards below 300. Anyway, given O'Shea I think we all know a loss will not start a QB change yet. It would take a few of them.
  14. At this point I would say the Nichols supporters and the Nichols detractors are both dug in the trenches. Minds will not be changed and ... Unless he completely falls off the cliff with his play, there is no QB controversy here and nor should there be. I don't always like the way O'Shea sticks with certain players or assistant coaches for a long time, but there is a reason why he and Lapo have the confidence in Nichols as they should. The West Final sucked, but no team in the league this year has that kind of defense that we saw out of the Stamps the last couple years.
  15. Fair enough, but I don't buy into the notion that he holds onto the ball too long at all. If anything, I say the opposite.
  16. I think it might be kind of a close sloppy game. If BLM continues to miss some of those throws like he has, BC will stay in it. But like I said, Reilly's been making bad decisions with the ball himself and I don't think he can afford to do that here. 0-3 is tough sledding.
  17. What changes? Do they involve a better OL all the sudden? More balance in the run game and short passes? If not, it's going to be a long one.
  18. You are as blind as a bat and obviously cherry pick plays to keep up with your manufactured crisis. Well at least enough sane posters here can see your out to lunch on this witch hunt that has nothing but alternate reality behind it. Nuff said.
  19. Quick release, knows how to pump fake, guns it in quick when he knows the man comes open, and ... I'm not going to listen to any more fools talk about not liking him sliding. I've seen enough QBs who don't and their careers get cut short. Nichols obviously hasn't been completely injury free, but no CFL QB ever is. But I would say he's been the healthiest QB whose missed some of the fewest games in recent Bomber history. Less so than Buck Pierce and Drew Willy anyway. You know I really don't feel like responding to blind bats who will just blow all of this off anyway, but there ... For anyone who is actually serious about grading QBs.
  20. Well I could name about 6 other QBs who got their passing games taken away by that Stampeder defense, so that's a fabricated complaint anyway. And as 17to85 mentioned, Lapolice got outschemed so it's his fault. OWNED AGAIN!
  21. Pretty much says it all that you're on a witch hunt with a manufactured crisis
  22. Well, a lot riding on this game and neither team would be in good shape losing. Definitely feels like the road would be harder for BC though with all the expectations they had. Certainly they did bounce back from 0-5 in 2011, but that's a rare accomplishment and with a rookie HC, probably not something they're cut out to do. It's looking a little better for Calgary though because they did intercept Dom Davis 4x their last game, and Reilly has also been throwing a ton of INTs this year. Calgary's key to winning is simply capitalizing off those turnovers. For BC, well you can't just keep going with this 1D offensive attack. Coaches need to get together, get the run game going and tell Reilly he doesn't need to do it all himself all the time. Mix up those shorter passes and draws and take the heat off him. Anyway, I got Calgary by 14 in this one.
  23. Well, I think what some of us feel is that team play and Nichols play are not mutually exclusive. Here's perhaps another way of looking at it: Probably most of us agree that the leader of the offense is Andrew Harris and not Nichols. He's more the guy who gets a lot of the offensive weight put on his shoulder whether it's by design or not. This last game he had a bad one, and hence why our offense couldn't get consistency going. To follow up on that, there are some QBs who have been great because they took the full weight of the team on their shoulders and made ridiculous throws to get wins. Damon Allen and Anthony Calvillo for example. Then there are those who aren't necessarily that great but can either rack up consistent wins because they make the basic dink and dunk throws and get the job done. Some rack up a lot of yards in the process while others like Nichols are in a more run heavy offense. With a QB like Nichols, no you probably wouldn't stick the full weight on his shoulders with second hand talent and force him to win it on his lonesome. But that's not the way this offense is designed, and even if he's not a Houdini needle threading playmaker, he makes enough of the throws we need to score TDs and win. So in other words, he's not the sole catalyst in winning, but he's been a key contributor and not the so called dead weight that certain stupid posters constantly ***** about.
