  1. I’ve been saying this all year. Expect a Houston like jump for the rookies who got thrown into the fire this year.
  2. I would love to hear the numbers on some of these signings.
  3. I’m telling you that four things went wrong - the first of which was the play call itself.
  4. And it would have been fine if Prukop saw a wide open guy and heaved it - but he saw tight coverage and thought he’d play hero. Still a dumb play call. I’m on the side of feeding Brady in the 4th. He was starting to heat up and should have been leaned on hard to close the game.
  5. Brilliant planning, tbh.
  6. But what's fairly? I don't think we're going to get much of a hometown discount (somewhat ironically - we don't seem to get a discount from our Winnipeg kids - it's the all-star Americans who take less to stay here). I don't think we we're offering 200k last time - I certainly don't think we're going to have more room this year. We can't really predict who will be in the market, but teams are going to lose players to FAs, creating the need for other teams to "make a splash". Again, if we get Lawler, it's going to represent a major shift in his thinking from last season.
  7. Don't you see when you lay it all out like that, that the "vet back-up" you want doesn't exist?
  8. He didn’t have a bad year though. He had a crappier QB but he was still a walking highlight reel. Theres a reason we want him back. I still think Hammy is going to push for a big WR signing to convince Bo to stay. There still a world that sees Lawler as the beneficiary of a bidding war.
  9. I'd love him back. All the way home from Regina, my buddies and I were envisioning a Lawler/Schoen led receiving core that made last year's team look like the Riders. We just have evidence of him leaving for the paycheque, and we were unable to even get in the same tier with an offer. So realistically, what's changed? We're clearly re-signing our core, raises will be due. And our claim to fame has been filling holes with Alford's, Schoen's that replace departed players on rookie deals..
  10. Even if the rumours are true, just because he an extension prepared, doesn't mean Lawler would sign it. I am also hopeful, but it is all on Lawler - other teams will still have large offers for him.
  11. I've been trying to convince myself Lawler will be back, but he really has no reason to accept less money than last time around. It seems unlikely he suddenly decided that staying in Winnipeg is worth playing for half the salary.
  12. I like Shiltz; I thought Hammy would have done a lot better last year if he didn't get injured. But he isn't close to Dru Brown. Whether Brown is the guy or not is besides the point; we know Shiltz isn't. Brown has shown flashes and still has upside. He's the perfect guy to have around behind Zach.
  13. For the record - I don’t think MOS is moving up into another role - he’s our coach and will be for some time. That said, the quote doesn’t say anything. He didn’t think about coaching while he was playing…until he became a coach…
  14. Bad call, bad execution on routes, bad choice by QB. Nothing went right on that one; but Prukop shouldn't have been on the field, imo.
  15. I can see why he wants Toronto. Good to great OL and running game. All of his old receivers. Clear path to success. Hamilton is probably the next best place. Decent OL, but needs to add pieces. They don't really have the skill players at this point.
  16. Our better play-off performances have been on the back of our running game - our struggles have come when we've gotten too cute in the passing game and thrown INTs.
  17. After his second consecutive Grey Cup appearance in his second year as OC? Don't think it had much of an impact.
  18. You're expecting perfection from Legs when the rest of the team wasn't even average. You take away either of our two interceptions or the Chad Kelly run or we grind Brady more in the 4th quarter and we win by taking a knee.
  19. I'm surprised you care, you've been saying the same things about Evans all year. But yeah, Ballsy is a hack. He's finding a scapegoat so he can praise the team and make a case for them making the play-offs next year - but everything he says is ludicrous.
  20. Exactly what Rod used to do - just inflammatory stuff to satisfy the Riders and rile up everyone else. Only difference is that Rod is apparently a nice guy in real like whereas Ballsy is still a tool.
  21. Yeah, I thought he was going to have a huge year and was really upset when he went down. Him and Jeffcoat are certainly going to be tough guys to negotiate with.
  22. I'm not avoiding the question, I just don't know if it's reality. If he leaves for the NFL, can the Lions retain his rights or is he automatically released?
