Don’t think many ppl stick around for intermissions on hockey. Nobody cares about the panel. It’s about the game really and prob the best way to promote the cfl is by saying it’s truly one of the last family friendly leagues in existence. Doesn’t cost thousands for a family of 4 to go to a game. Not sure cfl has a problem tho, they have a couple of markets have sucked for a decade problem and one that is what it is and has been for years now problem. Sask? They kind of bandwagon ish. Plus Regina and Saskatoon are not that big. That’s a good trip to go to a game from Saskatoon to Regina. Regina isn’t that big actually so yeah if ppl not driving in, they suffer. Toronto is what it is and the Alberta teams have sucked for a bit now

It’s prob the best thing to do. Overpaying crappy players certainly isn’t the answer. Like outside of boeser who never really made it to free agency in the end and Ehlers, nobody Is really worth it. Like it’s a lot of meh. You don’t build teams through free agency. Every year average players get overpaid on July 1 and then bought out 2 3 years later.

At this rate maybe Ehlers decides he’s got it pretty good here.

Tsn announces John Lu has retired

Now that my time in Toronto has come to an end, I wanted to share what these last nine years have meant to me. Leaving isn’t easy. This city is where I grew up, where I fell in love with hockey, and where I’ve had the incredible honour of living out my childhood dream. Wearing the Maple Leaf on my chest wasn’t just about playing for a team, it was about representing my home. When I was drafted, all I wanted was to help bring a Stanley Cup to Toronto. That was always the goal, and I came up short. I know how much this team means to this city, and I know the expectations that come with wearing this jersey. I gave everything I had, but in the end, it wasn’t enough. That’s hard to admit, because I wanted it so badly, for all of us. To the fans: thank you. Playing in Toronto is special because of you. Over the last nine seasons, I have felt it all: the passion, the pride, the hope, the pressure, and the support. You care deeply, and I never took that for granted. To my teammates, coaches, trainers, the equipment and medical staff, team services, PR staff, and everyone behind the scenes who keep things running, thank you. I’m grateful for every conversation, every moment of support, and every bit of belief you showed me along the way. As I prepare for what comes next, I leave a different person than I was at 18. Boeser staying in Vancouver. I’d imagine all of Ehlers Appleton and Tanev are gone. 2 they prob decided they didn’t want back and 1 gonna take lots of time deciding. They have 22.4 million in cap. Rfas samberg Vilardi and Barron. They prob have about 8 million to 10 to spend today. Samberg prob 6 million. Vilardi likely similar and Barron will get a modest raise. 8 to 10 on UFAs but really outside of boeser and Ehlers, it’s crap.

Free agency starts tomorrow. They signed pionk Iafallo and fleury and Toews. They haven’t signed Appleton and Ehlers. That’s all they can do right now really. These are all guys signing back with current teams. Minus the Marner to Vegas one. Free agency starts tomorrow. Bettman never wanted Winnipeg to leave. They did everything they could from trying yo find local owners to new arena proposals. Jets didn’t leave cuz lack of support. They left cuz honestly they had 2. Winnipeg Enterprises was never gonna be True North. Quebec City is different. The language is a problem and the guy who wanted to be owner was getting lots of negative press, like balsile in Hamilton , he wanted to do it his way and make noise. True North did it so quietly we didn’t hear about a team coming here until the night before it happened. in terms of expansion you got Houston Atlanta Indianapolis (lot closer than ppl think) and Virginia (there’s lots of talk about Virginia Beach, apparently nhl ratings in Virginia are strong Portland? Vancouver and Seattle say no. Like Montreal with Quebec City.

Lambert has potential to be an Ehlers type but honestly. Hopefully he’s a bit bigger. Nik is small. But nik was also 2 good for the ahl. So yeah… there is no next Ehlers. Perfetti is the set up guy. He needs to be feeding a goal scorer, ahem boeser.
