2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
Fatty Liver replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
If Collaros went elsewhere I think Plan B would come down to 4 options. T. Harris, Masoli, MBT or Matt Nichols (if fully recuperated) I think any of those 4 options would be able to guide the Bombers to a comfortable playoff spot and look good doing so, as the machine has been pre-tuned to perform, predicting anything beyond a playoff appearance is a wild ass guess. . -

You would end up in a bidding war to sign Evans, were Trevor Harris would gladly hand over his left nut to line up behind the Bombers O-line. -

I don't know where Collaros would potentially go if he didn't sign with the Bombers, but worse case scenario Zach retires. Walters signs Trevor Harris and he rides the B-train to first place in the West. Playoffs results are too much of a crap shoot to predict, but one win and a G.C. appearance would not be that difficult to imagine. Harris is a good QB, and playing with the best players would make him even better. -
Where to rewatch the 2021 Grey Cup?
Fatty Liver replied to canadianjayhawk's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I think the price for the G.C. is $5.99 USD, I don't think you can download it although you should be able to view as often as you like once paid for. One bothersome thing is they don't scrub out the commercials on the video on demand as they used to. -

Individual games can be purchased for viewing on YARE TV, you have to use a VPN to disguise your location as this service is not supposed to be used in Canada or the US. I have Nord VPN and use servers in Germany or Denmark. https://cfl.yaretv.com/gamesVod -

It's been reported Bighill took a $145k pay cut from projected $260K down to $115k last season, Walters isn't going to have enough change left over in his piggy bank to make that look right, it'll be interesting to see what happens. -

I'm just waiting for Noeller to chime in about Zach's Italian heritage....he's a dirty Greek! -

These restrictions shouldn't effect Eli as he is CDN., they may be able to delay his return pending Covid status but I don't believe they can prevent it. As far as I know his home is in Hawaii, which in itself is a a very good reason to never come back. -
I doubt Dinwiddie just traded Arbuckle without lengthy discussion, it certainly looks like Arbuckle did not want to share the QB position with MBT, or back him up and likely chose the trade option instead of showing patience. Salary was also a factor, just found this. Money also factored in the decision. John Murphy, Toronto's vice-president of player personnel, said the club couldn't afford to pay two quarterbacks as if they were starters, especially as more of Toronto's injured veterans become healthy and are ready to return. ``Having two starting quarterbacks was a really good concept until this point,'' he said. ``You can't successfully put your best ''A`` roster out there if at the same time you're paying two starting quarterbacks.'' https://www.sportsnet.ca/cfl/article/argonauts-trade-veteran-quarterback-nick-arbuckle-elks/

Kyle will probably keep Mourtada's number in his phone book until Castillo decides what his plans are. I'm not confident Liegghio will be ready to take over F.G. kicking next season, if anything this playoff run proved they can't afford to compromise that position. A great kicking performance can cover up for a lot of in-game deficiencies. -

Where does Nielson fit into this conversation? Rod Smith was calling the play. -

Were you listening to the game broadcast? Rod Smith announced the interception immediately and said "it's over" within the next second, he never questioned it's validity. -

Is Bailey not coming off his rookie contract? That may be were Darvin money goes. As for Jake I bet he's never earned more than $85,000 in all his time here, terrific bargain and seems to be getting better with age. -

There are definitely players that will be looking for pay raises and all that comes out of the pie that feeds other players, so something has to give. Nick Taylor, Darby or Maston may have to be sacrificed to retain the D rookies, Darvin may not be renewed and Harris may have to take a deeper cut if he wants to return, with Brady looking to be the man, Augustine probably leaves. My biggest concern is along the O-line, Couture, Desjarlais, Eli and Gray can probably go wherever they choose and stuff their pockets with twice the cash, it will be hard to retain all of them when other teams are desperate for O-line help. Neufeld, Stanley and Hardrick probably play out their careers without much fuss. D-line could see the loss of Kongbo and maybe Sayles as they step up to starter status and their pay stubs should rise significantly. Jake, Stove, Willie and Jeffcoat probably Bombers for life. -
What's that saying??? "Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen." Fajardo signed up to play QB when he was a little tyke, so he knows all the attention that comes with the position. He gobbles up all the love, attention and "feelgood" when he does well, but doesn't want to accept the criticism when he falls short. Unfortunately "good enough" for him will not always be "good enough" for others, especially when being paid a large salary to perform a highly scrutinized job under the spotlight. He needs to learn to strap on a suit of armour if he expects to survive in a super competitive environment like professional football, where there can only be one winner, by default that makes everyone else a loser. As a leader of other men on the field all eyes are on him, so he needs to have the emotional and mental strength to deal with the responsibilities and pressures that come with the job, or opt out. It's certainly not for everyone.

Biggest question coming out of Sundays win
Fatty Liver replied to Booch's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Some are comparing him to Reilly over there, so I don't know....plus he's smarter than Zach....Yep. -
He's a total wiener, if Darren Cameron was the Riders PR director he would have rushed in, pulled the electrical cord and shuffled him out the door to save the franchise from embarrassment. Fajaja was paid $415,000 this season and is scheduled to make $515,000 next season, he's blubbering and professing his love for Sask. because he knows he isn't worth that money and he doesn't have a hope in hell of getting it anywhere else! Slow as they are over there, they're eventually going to figure this out and boot his tail out the door.
