Game 36 : The Nonsuch @ The Mayflower
HardCoreBlue replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Caption Obvious says a healthy Mason is so important for us. (And St. Louis and Nashville on their way to a 13 game losing streak respectively:) -
I see it now. We win the Grey Cup next year and he retires on top.

You just know that Donald J Trump and his family members will take all the credit for putting more awareness on this issue. -
Game 33 : Lovey's @ Pappy's

Rough patch or beginning of the end? I say rough patch. What I'll find interesting is how committed management/ownership is to this season, that is tinkering with the lineup through minor, major deals and/or call ups or remain status quo no matter what. -
I didn't assume that but my point is to be mature requires consistency in the moment.

"The reason I originally endorsed Luther Strange (and his numbers went up mightily), is that I said Roy Moore will not be able to win the General Election. I was right! Roy worked hard but the deck was stacked against him!" This is mature?

So when does Trump's lawyer come out and say he wrote this one?

Game 30 : Sundogs @ Sunset

Yup, 2 point blank saves to keep it a one goal game. As much as I was pissed that we lost, thought we stacked up well against the best team in the league. Those kinds of games are worth the prices of admission. ps if Ehlers was more accurate, he'd be the leading scorer in the league right now. pss is Bob Cole a Tampa Bay fan? -

Fair point. The one thing I do enjoy about this site is following two (or more) smart thoughtful people go at it in a critically constructive way, sports or non-sports. It's engaging to read and take part in. -

I'm a supporter that one is innocent till proven guilty. I've always believed this because if I was falsely accused of something I'm sure hoping this in in place. However, is it an epidemic like you suggest? If so, how does that epidemic compare to the number of legitimate cases not being reported or ones that are reported and nothing is being done about them? Complex stuff. -

That's a great question. You would think they and/or people close to them would have popped up in the media (maybe they have and I haven't seen it) to voice their opinion on what is transpiring these days when it comes to this issue. -
Game 28 : Motor Coach Industries @ General Motors

From their last seven games, lets move this (0-4-3) to this (0-5-3) tonight. Coming off a 10-1 drubbing usually means we will be dealing with the pride quotient. Let's hope it has minimal effect. A 2-0 shutout would be nice. -
He's trying to distance himself from his own tweets. Some poor underling is going to be blamed for poor editing and content managing.

Interesting perspective provided by Paul MacLean when asked who has really helped the Jets this year. His reply? Steve Mason in really helping Connor Hellebuyck come into his own , something the Jets lacked last year from a veteran netminder mentor point of view.

First step, just focus on making the damn playoffs.

Can hardly wait for her memoir to come out after all of this nonsense is over with.

I didn't say anything about airing dirty laundry in the media. Airing dirty laundry is different than holding players accountable. There are certain things that don't leave the dressing room. There are however things that need to be done by the coach during times of adversity to challenge players to be better and sometimes using the media venue can work depending on the personalities of your players.
-
Based on what? Seriously it's not an all or none argument here. Again, there are successful coaches that have held his team accountable in an intelligent coherent compassionate way. And saying full stop at the end of your sentences doesn't act as gospel.
-
Nope, totally disagree. I didn't realize you had the coaching handbook on this. There have been many successful coaches over time in all sports who have found that sweet spot of holding his player (s) accountable while still having their backs done through the media.
-
You can hold players accountable without throwing them under the bus. It's how you say it.

It was nice to see Edmonton lose last night (ongoing rivalry I have here) but man I don't enjoy Jake Eichel's play. He floats around, just doesn't seem like a team player to me. Him and Kane must get a long just fine. I know he's young and can still grow into a leader but I think Buffalo pulled the trigger way to early on that contract of his (eight year 80 million).

Yes the interest is there, however the NFL sure interests/consumes my 13 year football playing son over the CFL. I tried to brainwash him early (once he came out of the womb) with the Bombers /CFL but he gradually lost interest. Something sure draws his interest to the NFL, whether it's watching the NFL/College games, following his Eagles, playing the videogames, being impressed with the talent level etc. It would be nice to continue to work on that age demographic to not only make attending a CFL game fashionable, but making the CFL fashionable for the younger generation to follow. I know I'm missing tons of complexities when I say this and we've talked about this over the years on this board but making a sophisticated top level CFL video game would be a start to really hook a larger following of younger football enthusiasts. I feel some underestimate the impact this would have, just my feeling only supported by how it has really engaged my son with the NFL (knowing alot of players, wanting to buy NFL merchandise, wanting to watch a live Eagle game , giving him specific goals of developing himself as a football player etc ).
