Yup- so far Calgary looks to be better (way better, thanks to Adams behind centre) and Edmonton looks to be a basket case. Becoming quite concerned about Schoen. He is hurt again, and not just nicked on a day-to-day basis and when he was in the lineup did not look anywhere as good as before his injury.

I suggest that they are more emotionally attached to their jobs as not only are their incomes dependent on them, but also their egos. And most, if not all pro athletes are ego- driven. That likely applies to the coaches as well.

We have no reason to believe that the Bombers will be as good as or better than last year. Key players are older, more injury-prone and will take longer to heal. We have the same head coach with the same M.O. as before and we have been trending downward. Moreover, our off-season recruiting has been less than impressive. To top it all off, all the western teams are demonstrably better- with the possible exception of the Edmonton Ungulates.
