  5. Russian Troops Are Now Deliberately Wounding Themselves to Get Out of Putin’s War Almost 90 days later By Vladimir Putin “Special Military Operations” in Ukraine, Russian Army apparently becoming demoralized and desperate to quit, they began intentionally injuring themselves. The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on Saturday announced the sound of what it says is a blocked call reveal new trend batshit. A man identified as a Russian soldier in the assault brigade based in the Kherson region of Ukraine can be heard venting his frustrations to his mother and explaining why he wants to give up the war. “Why do they [the Ukrainians] not surrender? We are on their land,” the soldier told his mother. “This is not going to end anytime soon. What do I need this for? At the age of 20… I have no interest in Ukraine at all. I need to come back and resign,” he said. His mother asked in surprise why there were no Russian troops in Ukraine determined to continue fighting for “patriotism”, but soldier Nikita simply scoffed. “I have a commander… who shot himself in the foot just to get out of here. And that’s right from the start! What to talk about? He served in Chechnya. ” His shocked mother went on to argue that someone must “defend Russia” to prevent the West from attacking, echoing the Kremlin’s dominant narrative on Russia’s state-controlled news that Russia’s war Putin was launched to prevent an impending NATO attack. “They will kill us all, it will be World War 4 and Russia will lose!” she declared. “Well, then Putin might change his mind… No people, no ammunition,” he said, adding that his commander had sent letters trying to withdraw his brigade but to no avail.
  6. Buffalo mass shooting came months after NY newspaper warned of congresswoman’s racist conspiracy theory Saturday’s mass shooting in New York occurred less than eight months after a local newspaper scolded a Republican congresswoman for pushing the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory. “A white 18-year-old wearing military gear and live-streaming with a helmet camera opened fire with a rifle at a supermarket in Buffalo, killing 10 people and wounding three others Saturday in what authorities described as ‘racially motived violent extremism.’ The gunman wore body armor and military-style clothing during the attack on mostly Black shoppers and workers at Tops Friendly Market,” the Times Union reported Saturday. The suspect was identified by the newspaper as Payton Gendron, of Conklin, New York. Prior to the shooting, the white 18-year-old reportedly posted a 106-page manifesto citing the “Great Replacement” conspiracy theory as motivation. In September of 2021, the newspaper’s editorial board wrote about the conspiracy theory. “Back in 2017, white supremacists marched in Charlottesville, Va., carrying torches and chanting, ‘You will not replace us’ and ‘Jews will not replace us.’ Decent Americans recoiled at the undeniable echo of Nazi Germany,” began the editorial, which was illustrated with a photo of the notorious Charlottesville tiki torch march. “That rhetoric has been resonating ever since in the right wing, repackaged lately in what’s known as ‘replacement theory,’ espoused by conservative media figures like Fox News’ Tucker Carlson. And it has seeped into the mainstream political discourse in the Capital Region, where Rep. Elise Stefanik has adapted this despicable tactic for campaign ads,” the editorial board wrote. Stefanik, the chairwoman of the House Republican Conference, is the third-ranking Republican in Congress.

  12. Judge rejects request from Trump allies to dismiss Dominion Voting exec defamation case: report According to a report from CNN, a bid by allies of former President Donald Trump to get a defamation suit filed against them by a former Dominion Voting Systems executive dismissed was shot down by a Colorado judge on Friday. The report notes that Eric Coomer was accused by lawyers Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani — among others — of involvement in a plot to rig the 2020 election against Donald Trump. As CNN's Tierney Sneed reports, District Judge Marie Avery Moses ruled the trial can go forward and that more "extensive" discovery can also proceed. In the ruling, Moses wrote, "There is no constitutional value in false statements of fact or the deliberate spread of dangerous and inflammatory political disinformation designed to sow distrust in democratic institutions. The public has an active interest in ensuring that there are remedies for defamatory statements." She added, "There is evidence that Giuliani's allegations against Coomer conformed to a preconceived storyline of fraud given his allegations of fraud after the election. Further, there is evidence that Giuliani had incentive to defame Coomer both in support of former President Trump and to maintain national attention. This evidence is sufficient to support a finding of actual malice." According to CNN's Sneed, "Already, the case has revealed that Trump allies did little to investigate uncorroborated claims of election fraud before repeating them on the public stage. The discovery Coomer was entitled to at the motion-to-dismiss stage produced a Trump campaign memo -- written days before Giuliani and Powell held their infamous RNC news conference where they promoted election fraud claims -- that debunked several of the allegations the Trump lawyers went on to make," adding, "As part of the motion to dismiss, Powell, Guliani and others who boosted Trump's lies about election fraud sat for depositions in which they said they only minimally reviewed the claims about Coomer before touting those allegations in front of a national audience."

  14. Rep. Elise Stefanik Attacks Mysterious 'Pedo Grifters' For Shortage Of Infant Formula Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who describes herself as “pro-life,” blamed the White House and mysterious “pedo grifters” on Friday for America’s infant formula shortage — and called for denying formula to migrant’s babies. The “White House, House Dems, & usual pedo grifters are so out of touch with the American people that rather than present ANY PLAN or urgency to address the nationwide baby formula crisis, they double down on sending pallets of formula to the southern border,” Stefanik wrote in a tweet. The “usual pedo grifters,” who were unidentified, appeared to be a reference to a particularly outlandish QAnon conspiracy theory that an international ring of child sex traffickers is being operated by Democratic leaders. A Stefanik spokesperson insisted to The Independent that the imagined “pedo grifters” also included Republicans. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/elise-stefanik-formula-shortage-pro-life-immigrant-babies_n_627ee897e4b050d95191ed13

  16. Ukraine 'Appears To Have Won Battle Of Kharkiv,' Entering New Phase Of War KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russian troops are withdrawing from Ukraine’s second-largest city after weeks of heavy bombardment, the Ukrainian military said Saturday, as Kyiv and Moscow’s forces engaged in a grinding battle for the country’s eastern industrial heartland. Ukraine’s general staff said the Russians were pulling back from the northeastern city of Kharkiv and focusing on guarding supply routes, while launching mortar, artillery and airstrikes in the eastern Donetsk province in order to “deplete Ukrainian forces and destroy fortifications.” Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said Ukraine was “entering a new - long-term - phase of the war.” After failing to capture Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital, the Russian military decided to concentrate on the Donbas, but its troops have struggled to gain and hold ground. Before the war, Ukraine had its most highly trained soldiers in the region to stave off the Russia-backed rebels. Russia has captured some villages and towns during its invasion. The Ukrainian military chief for the Donbas’ Luhansk province said Friday that Russian troops had nearly full control of Rubizhne, a city with a prewar population of around 55,000. Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s forces had also made progress, retaking six Ukrainian towns or villages in the past day. Western officials said Ukraine had driven Russian forces back around Kharkiv. The largely Russian-speaking city was a Russian key military objective in the early phase of the war, when Moscow was still hoping to capture and hold major Ukrainian cities. The Institute for the Study of War, a Washington-based think tank, said Ukraine “appears to have won the Battle of Kharkiv.” It said, “Ukrainian forces prevented Russian troops from encircling, let alone seizing Kharkiv, and then expelled them from around the city.” Regional governor Oleh Sinegubov said in a post on the Telegram messaging app that there had been no shelling attacks on Kharkiv in the past day. He said Ukraine had launched a counteroffensive near Izyum, a city 125 kilometers (78 miles) south of Kharkiv that has been under effective Russian control since at least the beginning of April. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/russia-kharkiv-withdraw_n_627f935fe4b050d9519247f3

  21. “Pro-Life” Gov. Greg Abbott Demands That Biden Starve Babies Texas Gov. Greg Abbott demanded that Biden stop providing baby formula to migrant babies in US custody on the border. Children are our most vulnerable, precious Texans and deserve to be put first. Yet, President Biden has turned a blind eye to parents across America who are facing the nightmare of a nationwide baby formula shortage. While mothers and fathers stare at empty grocery store shelves in a panic, the Biden Administration is happy to provide baby formula to illegal immigrants coming across our southern border. This is yet another one in a long line of reckless, out-of-touch priorities from the Biden Administration when it comes to securing our border and protecting Americans. Our children deserve a president who puts their needs and survival first – not one who gives critical supplies to illegal immigrants before the very people he took an oath to serve. Starve the babies while taking away abortion rights is what Republicans mean by pro-life. Gov. Abbott doesn’t suggest what President Biden should do with all of the babies that will no longer be fed. Republicans have no real plan. It’s just nothing but an endless spewing of hare-brained anger intended to divide the country. It doesn’t matter to them that starve the babies isn’t a winning political message to about 70% of the country. Republicans want to take away the right to choose, then take away the right to food. https://www.politicususa.com/2022/05/12/pro-life-gov-greg-abbott-demands-that-biden-starve-babies.html
  22. Missouri Looks to Ban Pharmacists From Disputing Efficacy of Ivermectin -Getty When the Missouri state legislature on Wednesday passed a standard-issue licensure bill for physical therapists, few noticed a clandestine provision on its 32nd page banning pharmacists from telling patients about the potential dangers of using unproven drugs touted by conspiracy fringe groups as “forbidden cures” for COVID-19. The measure in the bill, passed unanimously by the state’s General Assembly, specifically bars pharmacists from disputing “the efficacy of ivermectin or hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets for human use” unless specifically asked by a patient or physician. No evidence has been produced to show that ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are effective treatments for the coronavirus, and in some cases they have been found to be actively harmful to patients. Lindsey Simmons, a former Missouri congressional candidate, was one of the few who did notice the measure, pointing out in a thread on Twitter that “nevertheless, the Missouri legislature has chosen to ‘own the libs’ by issuing a gag order against every pharmacist in this state from offering their medical opinion on taking either one of those medications—even if it could kill their patient.” The bill currently awaits a signature from Missouri’s Republican governor, Mike Parson. (Ivermectin ought to be the mandatory treatment for all GOP republicans if the contract COVID in any of its forms)
