It seems ridiculous to describe a game this early in the season as pivotal, but it sure as spit seems to be. If Bombers win, they will have gained a reprieve. If they lose to a wounded opponent, the team is essentially in freefall. Scraping out a win will do little to silence the critics.
In the Freep today (and the stuff there is mostly fluff) Bridges exonerated himself completely and was not challenged. What we are seeing is another episode of O'Shea's "I chose him and he's not going anywhere" attitude. Does not bode well for Saturday's game.
