2021 Blue Bombers Training Camp/Pre-Season Stuff
Booch replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Its not an acl or he'd be done..and not running around and as an RB couldn't play with even a minor one with a brace .he'd be garbage. MCL mild to even total tear u can play through actually..and with a brace risk minimal to no further damage...but I think it prob just a minor strain as opposed to a tear and they just being precautions with it..and if we had a game tomorrow..I would be certain he'd be playing. Better to let it heal now so it doesn't linger and he doesn't need the reps..he knows his gig -

I believe with Harris it's a left knee issue of some type...seen a brace on him, so I would say an MCL strain of some sort, as he is running around with no apparent limp -
Carol did say a lot of tickets have ben sold...they are swamped and busy

I for one will not miss Lapo...not one bit..I don't think the players will either...You can already sense it in the receivers -

I think with Riders he played some corner...safety...not fulltime but in certain sets....Dude was originally a receiver when he came to Canada out of College, so I'm sure he can run just fine, and can run routes as a DB with a receiver...isn't foreign to him by any stretch -

and small fry Gaitor was??....Alexander is right in line with other SAM's...6 feet..200 pounds....Maston was 5'-11" and 208...basically a wash...don;t put too much into the eye test for how a player can slot in...that SAM guy a lot of times has to deal with a teams top inside receiver moreso than taking on a RB....he'd do just fine there actually I think Darby is a better safety than Alexander...but those 5 I think will be the basis of our starting backfield unless a newbie comes in and right steals a spot...which Is a bonus as we will certainly be carrying a extra DB on the roster anyway. Experienced guys to start the season on both sides of the ball are gonna be key to success this year especially with no pre-season games...We are bringing back our entire starting unit on offence, and basically defence as well...we missing Maston now, as well as Rose and Sayles but are replacing them with CFL vets in Johnson and Darby now...huge huge -
yeah...looking at that too....yeesh...Who knows what Michah Johnson has left after 2 yrs off....and basically sucked his last season in 2019...Mak Henry...pfft...AC Leonard is no Willie J or Jeffcoat...he's no Kongbo either...Geter whom had experience retired...and throw in a sub par Canadian for Judge...who knows what for Soli now that Dean is done, and thats a weak front 7...no depth either...how they are being touted as Grey Cup contenders is laughable at best...

Actually Alexander is pretty physical...he could fill it at SAM rather nicely...we have excellent bodies in camp to try there..Antighua too could slot in there -
Not to be a Rider basher...but that is the absolute worst collection of O-lineman to create a lineup with in TC that I have seen in a long long time...and thats the worst positional group on a team to have a bunch of unproven and new guys to mesh in a short season...other than Clarke the whole group is new...what a recipe for disaster
-
and what a pile of crap this is....sheesh..... https://www.cfl.ca/2021/06/08/no-changes-needed-riders-roster-designed-success/

@wbbfan not sure whats your hate for Augustine but to each his own opinion...The only negative sentiment about him comes from you.... Love the Darby signing...solid solid player and great room guy...T.O got fleeced on that one. I would have loved that trade even without Maston going down...gives us tons of options and allows more options with BA as well...awesome pickup -
hahaha....niot nice to laughat another teams misfortunes...but hahahah...what a friggin mess...In a short season, with all new guys, and sub par ones at best...their are gonna be looking ugleeee
-
MAN....who is gonna be the Rider's O-line...and who are the back-ups....what a mess there, They have Clarke...who after 2 years off will be more of a stick than he was...and then what??
-
I'm not even sure what the point of that drill would even be....seen a lot and been involved in a lot of innovative things, but thats a head scratcher

Not sure what u are watching..Augustine was and always has been on kick off team..I believe kick return as well...he had lots of experience on teams..that's how he managed to get on and stay on roster as well..we lucky to have him..and he can catch our of backfield too...comparing him or any back to Harris in that regard is stupid -
Told ya all....big time signing...ratio flex is huge

If The Canada Enterprise Emergency Funding Corp. (CEEFC) can give 310 million to Goodlife Fitness to keep their butts outta the tank, then they can surely give same type monies to The CFL ( tho it would require probably 1/3 to half of that amount) as when you factor in all the people employed within in, as well as all the outside entities that have lost significant revenue due to the league not running it basically employs a huge number of people. This falls under the Large Employer Emergency Financing Facility (LEEFF) in an attempt to protect jobs. How is that any different really?...TV revenue accounts for all the "players" salaries so it's not like money is being given to American residents up here playing ball...It would go to the business of running the team's..vendors, suppliers...and all staff involved...Officials...TV Producers, camera crews..etc..etc..all Canadian parts of the actual business of the CFL..The money is there obviously and really 310 Million for fitness centers?..From experience running one before, monthly membership dues are pushed and promoted to project your monthly residual income to keep clubs running and pay staff..utilities..insurance..etc... Staff not working, lights being off, is a huge savings from normal monthly expenses, and from what I know they were in a bad place trying to complete their new facilities that were in construction..2 being here in Winnipeg....Construction originally stopped from first shut due to pandemic, but nothing has been done since, when it could have because they were out of cash..now where do you think a majority of that 310 million they are getting is headed?...Getting a handout to "expand" your business in these times, is a lot different than money needed to prop up established assets so you dont have to close doors. Why the Government doesn't see the CFL beyond the players salaries as Canadian loss of business and revenue from many angles is utterly laughable...not to mention propping up Airlines so there is no significant "loss of jobs"....thats more to ease the minds of investors more than anything...

Yeah solid back-up for an in-game issue....and not messing up other aspects of our ratio in game...cant go wrong there, and if he has to play a game or 2 behind our line..again..no issues there and doesn't disrupt the apple cart. I have trained with and seen Oliveira training...no issues with his ankle and if anything is now in better shape than start of 2019 season...again...solid depth ans starter capable
-
Oliveira got hurt basically minutes into his first game..in a freak injury at that...hardly was a case of not being able to stay healthy, and had no injury issues in College Augustine was cut by Edmonton, and then signed by the Riders...just puked in my mouth there sorry....and was cut prior to camp...dumb move by them but a score for us In spot play over 2 years has average 6.5 yards a carry so for a Canadian back up yeah we are set just fine..Harris goes down in a game we won't be yanking an American receiver to play a DI rb who would be a waste of roster space as 98% of plays in the game he would be firmly planted on the bench
-
YEAH looking back to if this occurred when I was a highschooler or College player and had 1..2 years stripped away it would have been very heart breaking sprinkle in some Grant....lotsa fire power...and dont discount Mekale Mckay who I think makes a lot of noise in camp, and makes job security for Bailey and or another American a bit sketchy..Ditto with Ardarius Stewart
