He also has got hurt doing it...several times...id keep him away from it As a qb3 TE will never see the field..and Perkins so far has been lights out doing it..so why change what's not broken? So rostering TE to stand around won't develop him anymore than as the reserve guy getting full pay but just not dressing Plus...maybe Condell can use him in 2 qb sets and get ball in his hands in space..he would do a hell of a lot more integrated into offence on a few plays a game than Corcoran or Cobb will do all yr combined..there is that aspect to keeping him

Dru could have lightly requested a move and I think may have been part Best backup in league now..actual starter quality if we being real and no way he is used in SY duty..thats just asking to get hurt..Perkins has earned that role and is silky smooth good doing it. If we got Dru hurt running into the mass of humanity doing SY and then ZC got hurt and we forced an unready TE into the role we could ruin him before he ever got his career rolling...reserve role him...he learns under all 3 this yr and battles in TC next yr and likely becomes QB2 if he lives to the hype..right now all he is is a big bodied QB with an elite arm..thats it and he looked every bit of a not ready for prime time qb thru preseason If he advances next yr and pushed dru to qb2..thats good as well as u again have the best backup on a decent deal and your starter on a rookie deal.. balances out nicely

All I can ask is why couldn't walters have sweetened the pot and tossed in a Jones and Wilson and removed them outta our equation..if both so valuable why wouldn't a team want those toss ins???

zc starts...dru is qb2..Perkins continues what he has excelled at....bumping Perkins off would be ...well stoopid but a classic osh move...so prepared for stooopid

in my opinion solid move...and picks...pffft....its a crap shoot at best and we may have 2 or 3 studs rolling in next yr...maybe even later this yr I not sure Perkins will, or should based on his play in Short yardage and really shouldnt...he's been as automatic as have been seen here as of late...as from how it stands now Elgersma would come in as #2 and we all know he will get zero reps unless ZC lost his leg....So Dru as the defacto #2 with Perkins as short yardage makes total sense this yr as Elg's learns and watches this yr I am sure nobody felt good with either if ZC was to go out for the yr...Walter's made a savvy move and gave up zero really for him

fact is...dude been cut 2..3 times....cant crack a starting spot let alone roster for 3+ yrs now, (and rightfully so from the tape he has shown in his 3 yrs trying)....nobody beat his door down to PR him the many times he was on the street, and yes I am sure he would have said yes if asked by another team. I can see maybe bringin a guy back that was injured to re-evaluate but our constant bringing guys back who were cut or deemed not good enough to fill voids/injury etc doesnt say much about our coaching and ability to evaluate or the quality or depth of our scouting...does it? We should be cutting bait from former cuts and turning over new stones...or having new blood carried on the PR learning and developing Case in point Kornelson...what was he outright dumped 2 times..brought back....Played him...still showed he didnt belong...PR'd...Then a early signing this winter...could crack roster again...and again wasting space on the PR...let it go already...big reason why we lack depth and dont seem to ever have a guy in waiting anymore as we just hang on to garbage...or recycle our own cuts

You cant upset the apple cart and fire whole regime...especially if it's not a complete dumpster fire...You start with the HC...almost always and that G.M gets his second attempt to see if the coaching was the issue...if things still tilt downward with no relief in site...then yeah purge city A G.M and HC purge..which essentially leads to total staff turnover and a lot of times admin pieces too...is last resort and will really set you back a few yrs...a HC canning wont
