Coaching did ZC no favors his last 2 kicks at the Cup...We do a better job there with that aspect we win....he just needed to be pedestrian and safe within a smart game plan, and provided adjustments where needed in-situ....and pulled when he got hurt...as well as being provided with the healthiest options to distribute the ball to...and we win. Our coaching let him down and he bears the brunt...that being said tho...as a 600k a yr QB he needs to have that something something extra to put the game and dead weight around him on his back and carry them across the goal line...I don't think he has that part of his game anymore...

I personally judge on talent...conversation I have with people involved (before and after arriving here) ...skill set...football acumen and roster usefulness....not personal bias.....also look at potential upside and or ability to evolve..... I go to camp...a lot....and practices during the yr when I in WPg.....I dont go off "media" reports and "soundbites" people run with from a coaches comment....as a lot of times those comments are more personal bias based and likes....than actual talent or best roster option. Don't get me wrong I obviously have some favorites as well...who doesn't...but I would never put a favorite in front of a better player. I also don't care nationality....but I would build the team with best players per position and then work the ratio...not pidgeon hole positions You hit nail on head tho...some coaches do tend to lean toward their favorites...and for all Osh's good qualities/traits....he is really bad with this to the detriment of the overall roster...and is stubborn in his bias's ....right from get go....Kuale...Hurl...Willy....Kolo...The Marine...Thomas...Scmeck....BIGGIE and BA later in their tenure...The Hallett's...just off top of my head but it's consistent with him if anything....even some of the bottom end guys we retained for yrs.....wasted roster spots as they would never evolve to anything....a really good football player can play teams before pushing a starter off the starter spot....a good teams player can't necessarily become a really good football player to push anyone...and that has hindered us hopefully we allow the battles and dont do what we have done the past 2..3 yrs....gifted spots...and had too many guys not even participate to show they even deserved that gift

Kelly is the most legit Canadian we have on roster who isnt already a starter...and even then is more legit than a couple who are "starters" Kid has all the skills....and the smarts That and the fact he one of our best ST guys on top of it....Groomed right he could play half back or Corner as well as Safety and I wouldn't be bothered with him getting reps at SAM....He's that good we def brought in some intruiging free safety body types who reek of versatility...be interesting camp and with my flexible work sched I hope to attend most it I just hope that at every spot...the best man gets the nod...not the "favorite" man

and lost more than we won....woopdydo and stop looking back....look forward and project a roster....our best teams and deepest....and best constructed....were from 2019 to 2021.....and huh...thats when we actually won...and looked strong in doing so....since...as we have eroded...degraded and clung to best before....3 times in a row we fell flat on our faces....who cares what we did in reg season if it's flawed....aged players with nothing in the tank...marginal back-ups who never even get gane reps for the emergency they may be needed.....proof is in the puddin....change and how we do business needs to evolve or it will be 10 yrs between Cup wins before you can blink, as you'all revel in what was....a decade ago Football...evolve and adapt....or die.....we evolved and adpated for 3 yr.....we been dying now for 3 personally with me I could care less where a player comes from...and his nationality....I from the world you get your 22....or 24 best options and play them accordingly...

nor is ZC track record People can cherry pick games and stats to support both narratives for a player....I think tho in the environment here...at it's apex...he would have got it done...especially with the cast around him how has ZC done of late when it mattered most??...same story...different book....In the 2 Cup wins under ZC...He was not the reason we won them...not even remotely

if he was QB here for us iun the grey cup the last 2 yrs...I bet we win those games....with the supporting cast we had....He got boned hard last yr by Campbell...and has been in situations in 2 of his stops where it was less than ideal inside the organizations.....if how things are here as many claim....he would have a couple rings easily

7 is a stretch right now until camp breaks...sure some will throw out the Kramdi argument...but as much as many glom on about him..he's not the best option for the spot here..especially when it doesn't need to be manned by a Canadian.. if they feel the need to start him..and hes as smart as they say...throw him at safety as the field general and guy in charge of the back 6...Ala how BA's smarts made him so valuable...tho I don't think he has the athleticism there for it..and if he doesn't have it there then at sam where he could be in coverage on teams top targets...he is even more deficient. Hopefully we get 6 nationals on offence so we only required to have 1 on defence on any given snap and it would make us a way better defence Which is a poor roster decision..and makes us not our best

we only need to start 7 "true" Canadians...the 8th could be WJ...Bryant....Wilson...Nichols...Holm... So depending on where they declare...5 on offense (2 OL...Demski...BO...Clercius) and 2 on defense...where they slap the 2 is up for debate but I'd prefer to see it at safety and boundary corner...now do we have the guy for that? Who knows but I'd rather see that for if anything give us a more stout front 7 Ideally tho I see no reason why we dont go 3 OL guys as we have....shouldnt be hard...I sure as it sits we be just fine with Wallace and Neuf with Eli and a draft pick in the hopper....and just need to use 1 Canadian on defense and he could be at multiple spots...depending on what we are sCheming throught a game....SafetY some plays..DT....SAM...

I was never a Murphy fan....but players...regardless of supposed talent get tired of being over looked and not a chance...especially when guys are not 100 percent... He could play teams tho on was not a liability on coverage teams by any stretch....so he had use....dont get me wrong...he's no loss and there are prob 3..4 other guys we likely to roter ..again and if we moved on for a younger guy with possible upside...they would not be missed Point is...Woli almost walked away for the very reason BOLO basically did before he re-upped his 2nd deal...or was it 3rd...one of them but was talked into staying by teammates...and those 2 instances aren't isolated....just sayin Good thing we locked Lawson in because I am sure if he wasnt locked up, and played second fiddle to you know who last yr...and shred reps with him again this yr...he's be outta here...and who would blame him

he was prob tired of not getting to be on the roster in lieu of slugs like Thomas...Kolo...etc....and said eff it....especially when we showed several yrs running we would play hurt guys over our "other number ones"...dont blame him Left like BOLO did.....said eff this crap

Wallace in my opinion is going to be the best O-line guy from that draft when all said and done...The professional coaching he has had already has advanced him so much...and from all I have heard he is a sponge and just "gets it" immediately...and....the bigger part he puts in the work for his craft Not saying that because he is a Bomber drafted guy....Just based on what has been seen....and things talked about If we get lucky and the kid who went to Detroit gets here....we will have grabbed the 2 highest upside oline guys in that draft

it's hurt our depth....guys who can play legit reps...can also play teams....and some better than these teams only guys we got so fixated on

we need to draft guys with potential/ability to take regular snaps and actually push to be a starter...or are a legit back-up and guy we groom...no more of this special team only guys...as its part of the reason why our depth eroded and we had issues fielding healthy guys when it mattered most Depth as in guys on your roster, as opposed to depth in guys who can contribute on offense/defence with minimal to no drop off are 2 different things....and ours for the latter was trash....hence injured guys played over the "everyone is a starter" back-up and our propensity to play lesser talented guys...(Thomas..Schmeck..Hallets..etc) because...essentially our roster was built poorly and was teamer only heavy in depth

tho Fozzy itself isnt Canadian...Jericho is...and Winnipegger to boot.....thats my kind of music tho half people here prob have no clue....Bring him in for pre-game concert....

yup...pointless to have that extra guy really when you have big bodied skill guys Buck subtraction to me is addition...big one...he got stale Samson too really....He's a better option than either SchmeckThomas....Can he hurdle them and Osh's affinity...thats the question...way more upside...and he's a powerhouse bull....could be a key piece to develop

yup...took him a few games....mainly getting used to the speed and the intricasies of Canadian Pro ball but when he grasped it...he was getting real good With a new offensive brain trust now.....which is gonna only be good for us albeit maybe a few growing pains along the way...but I see them really utilizing skill sets and dynamics of what we can do....Buck was horrible with creating anything to take advantage of what players could/can do, and exploiting teams with it...he was just stuck in his template and I dont think could see past the basic of basic I think the biggest signing here is Jarius and his ability to see what can be with players and implementing it onto game plans.....I'm really curious to see what he does and how he and the OC implement out 3 backs (BO....Logan...MCI) My hope with MCI and Clercius on roster...we drop that extra Oline guy we carried and use those 2 big bodies on the edge with the threat they can pop out and take a pass, or a toss.....We only used that 7th guy for most part off the edge anyway and really was insignificant as teams knew he was no threat

yeah too bad he got knicked last yr....but I expect an expanded role...and with good coaching....which we basically have...upside is huge if we plan to utilize his skillset....same with Clercius's development now he defacto starter....he has serius upside as well.....

yeah...Agreed...not sure if feature back is in cards....but as a TE in big packages...or even as a slot/Drury type guy he could reep huge rewards...get him out on swings or crossers...in open space...and he gets rolling with his sub 4.5 speed and his size....yowzers

MCI was probably the best athlete and tester in the entire draft class....and would have been in top teir in NFL draft for his position as well even tho he he didnt have the actual play time....savvy pick and with the right coaching and not getting his development or projected use stagnated/********....he is gonna be a huge assett The dlineman talkd about just isn't a tester...but he is a gamer...he's from the visual on his tape smart...see's plays develop and knows where/how to get to spots to make an impact.....some guys just arent testing beasts but all they do is make plays...much like many of the testing metric superstars...and guys who look like greek gods are useless and middling players...this is where your scouting....your connections in who you know and who to talk to are valuable and important in finding the gems I

Corrected something for ya....not to beat a dead horse but he has no purpose for rostering.....no upside...and basically no value other than vet experience...which we have enough of Moving on from some gys is definately a progressive move...but only if we have a true camp of competition...and then...and this is the big IF part of it but if Osh actually rosters guys based on merit and skill and not his personal preference we should be okay...I have zero faith he will tho across the board...and really why should I....Or anyone on the forum or as a fan?....no reason to think thats how it will be...as it hasnt happened here across the board in his 10 yrs here We also need to scrap this template we use that this position...that position....is a Canadian...or a Vet...Or for an import and just figure out the best guys for the spots...then work it into your ratio

guess we will see once camp breaks who Osh has decided....I don't necessarily mean starter....but a guy who gets on roster and gets lotsa reps over....anyone who's better and or not required for ratio purposes in a rotation\ Be interesting when attending camp to see the talent/upside....usefulness of players...and who gets the shaft this yr But I would say if Schmeck shows no development/and or effectiveness, and is rostered just cause he been here a few yrs now...thats a classic Osh maneuvered and isn't giving us our best roster O'd say Kramdi needs to be head and shoulders better than Makonzo as well in order to get majority of reps if we go National at SAM....And again....putting an import there (Griffin/Parker/possible new guy) would give us a better roster but we know we won't.....But Makonzo when he played the position as a rookie showed more...and has better skill set

My knock on Dobson is he looked almost lost after his initial engagement....and in second level....correctable?...you would think...but maybe we tried with him all yr working on things and he just wasnt progressing.??..who knows That being said Kolo was no help at all with chips an tandems....also was genrally over matched 90% of time so that may have been part of it too as him not being able to get to second assignment and it hamperd our guards...has for several yrs now and a change there with even just an average center would fix so many things that seem like issues on the oline BUT.......Osh just loves Kolo and it's mainly his fascination with guys...especially Canadian ones who are under dogs....lack top tier talent...and any kind of upside but try hard and are for whatever reason ticke his fancy....and it hurts us...all through his tenure here we have rostered 1..2 guys who have no business being starters...let alone even in the mix for anything....and again this yr...barring seson ending injury my guess is we are gonna have to deal with 2..maybe 3 guys again who aren't the best option....but are Osh's option

Totally agree....and in Ford was a guy we didn't need to meet ratio, had guys in house already to replace him and his price would have been an anchor and raped us elsewhere. He is easily replaced at that corner spot with just as good...or even better production at well over half the cost.....the allure of him being Canadian is all fine and dandy and a nice story....somepeople just love that....but if he was an import player playing that spot...and similar or even better production...he'd have been just another top tier corner...no loss really If we can stabilize our interior dline...with impact guys....guys who are active and athletic...and can play multiple techniques...and minimize and or elominate reps for the inferior Canadians not named Lawson we be cooking...as our back end is gonna be tight this yr....better than last I bet If Person can step out at camp...like I think he will....Vaughters would be the perfect guy to spell him and WJ off...and not be relied on to absorb too many snaps and keep him and WJ fresh....interested to see how Younger evolves his system
