  1. any hope of any reasoning as to why you select these people? Or is this just a random list? If random, then I'd like to see John Elway and Bill Belichick as GM and HC. Fair question dude. • Walters, cause, well, it WILL be Walters. • Dunigan as a potential cause I keep hearing that name bandied about and I am hedging my bets. ;-) • Khari cause he's tight with Miller and is smart and popular and an "offensive mind" -- and won't get a HC shot anywhere else • Bellefeuile cause he'd be cheap and serviceable and likely would be seen as a "safe" hire. • Dyce cause he's a WPG guy through and through and reasonably capable. Also a nice guy so he'll fit in. • Cortez is my long shot -- he'll be out in SK and I could see the Bombers jonesing for his OC capability. Highly doubt he'c click with Miller though. • Fat Greg cause he's liked by the other guys and is a serviceable DC. Remember, serviceable is the gold standard around here. • Kavis cause he's available and may wanna work rather than collect his checks performing as Seal in the EDM fringe festival • Craig Dickenson cause we need someone above average to make us look like a contender.
  2. My prediction GM: Walters, possibly Duningan (then Walters will be AGM) HC: Khari (possibly Bellefeuille) OC: Dyce, possibly Khari if he isn't HC. (Wildcard is Cortez) DC: Fat Greg Marshall (possibly Kavis) ST: C Dickenson
  3. This line in wheat-chex article today made me nauseous: "Sources have indicated the club is determined to follow a sequence that will first see Wade Miller get the acting tag lifted from his job as CEO, followed shortly afterward by the naming of a new GM, which will in all likelihood be acting-GM Kyle Walters." There's not even a mention of a cursory GM search. I would love to see C Dickenson get his first HC role here. But with such an amateur-hour approach to filling upper management roles, why in holy hell would CD leave the comfy spot he has under Huffer, especially if Huffer leaves the sidelines soon? Miller will get Walters as GM and his business partner/buddy Khari as HC -- Bank on it!
  4. Agreed, I just do not have a lot of faith in this happening. I have a feeling we may not bring in anyone at all......... "After an exhaustive search that included some of the top names in CFL, NFL, CIS, and NCAA ranks, I realized that the best candidate to lead the Bombers back into Grey Cup contention was right with us all along: Kyle Walters." It's Miller time!
  5. Missing the point, again. Miller is putting the message out there that he is a hands-on kind of guy. Potential GM's with winning ways can read the tea leaves and see the potential to lock horns. That was Pentons point and I agree. No you're missing the truth...that you have a vendetta against Miller...it's splashed all over your posts Nothing against Miller. I have BIG issues with how our club has been managed. I want him to be different. So far, it hasn't been. Quit trying to psychoanalyze people over the internet. And just how do you want him to be different? What has specifically disappointed you so badly to date? I guess I was just hoping he would send a stronger message. I know the season isn't over yet and Burke's fate is basically sealed, but really, all he's done is hemmed and hawed on the GM vacancy, sent out letters raising our ticket prices, and given a job to his business associate. Don't get me wrong, theres still a lot of time. Just would prefer he did first things first, like hire a GM. Preferably a very good one! Ok...so he was supposed to hire a GM before the season is over, when he can't talk or interview the people he might be interested in....people give jobs to business associates all the time, not just the bombers, especially if they are qualified. There you go again with the Pinnacle thing...get over it already! Nah, if I smell a skunk I'm going to call it. Especially when I give the club 2 grand a year. Thanks for the suggestion though.

  7. Haha, I know you're joking but I will say this -- all non-football positions will be filled by Pinnacle, and I bet Pinnacle's cost for advertising at the games won't be going up, unlike my season tickets.

  10. You think Buono clears things like that with Braley (or whomever has the CEO position in BC). Or Huffer with whomever? I bet there is conversation. Probably goes like this: Wally: I want to bring in this QB for Benevides to work out. Braley et al: Yes Wally. Wally: Shut up. Just kidding. But really, shut up. Was not talking about bringing in a third string practice squad quarterback. I am talking this offseason when we go after the guy to be #1. If you don't think there are conversations between all members in a professional organization when major decisions are made I think you need to give your head a shake. It was a joke buddy. Chill. Of course there are conversations, just like any workplace. I'm just saying, I can pretty much agree that Wally has the final decision in those matters and that a CEO, former special teams assassin or not, would have to let Wally make those calls.

  13. Well, I guess this isn't a "who's playing this week" kind of decision.
  14. Pretty sure? Let's see the quote then. I swear I read that too -- one of the earlier Freep interviews (not the later one)? -- shouldn't be hard to check, if someone has the Google chops.
  15. I get that in business you work with whom you know and trust. And although I know Wade part-owns Elite, who knows -- maybe it will be Fish who gets paid by the BB, not Elite Performance. That would be reasonable in my opinion, optics notwithstanding. To me what is more troubling is the about-face on meddling in football ops. Two months ago he said he wasn't going to. Now he is. If he wanted to be GM why didn't he lobby for that job?
  16. Exactly this. Some of you guys are missing the point. The troubling thing isn't bringing back Fisher (for cripes sake, who cares, its the strength coach position) it's that this is a blatant conflict of interest. Miller is a part-owner of Elite -- and now, two months into the job and he's basically creating a business deal that lines his own pockets. Whether the move is right or wrong (or a big "meh", in my opinion) you have to admit that the optics are terrible.
  17. Its been a while. Can you blame me after the last 4-5 years? But really, it's only been 2+ years since the wheels have started to come off and…..you're already got a spotlight on the new guy…and it sounds more personal to me. I disagree -- granted, hindsight is 20/20, but you would have to say things went south during Lyle's last year and the carpet bomb he left us with. Then the Board went the "safe" route by hiring a GM we knew wouldn't embarrass the team -- too bad he was largely ineffective. SO thats since 2008-9. A long time!
  18. Gimme a break. They are buddies and DB works out in his gym for free. Fish hasn't worked in a professional team setting in 10 years -- and in that field, being current matters. Don't believe all tire-pumping you read. Its friends helping friends. *sigh* kids who think they know, but they really don't know....comical... For a moderator, you could stand to show a bit of maturity. Kids? Come on. More like 20 year Bomber season ticket holder. Okay, so not a kid, but ignorant as one..... Okay Homer Simpson -- you sure your last name isn't Miller? Go Blue and just take my damn money!!!

  22. Yes, Alain Couture I know Alain. Nice guy, but more of an AT then a S&C guy. I wouldn't say Fish's re-hab skills are any better than Alain's. Anything serious they just refer out anyway.
  23. But the fans and media say he's terrible so he must be Gimme a break. Mack was a terrible GM. His approach to free agency, trading with other teams, and handling the QB position we're all below average. He also made poor coaching hirings and firings and last time I checked, had a losing record as commander. Stats may be for losers but according to the stats, Mack is a loser. If you say so it must be true. Because you're the expert. What was our record under Joe Mack? One Grey Cup appearance in 3 seasons... .333 Grey Cup appearance percentage. Remarkable really, unmatched by any GM not named Popp What was our record under Joe Mack? How would you describe the play of the QB position -- Excellent, Average, Below Average, Really Fricken Bad Considering He Promised to Fix it And Couldn't? Oh, and in case I forgot: What was our record under Joe Mack?
