  1. Yep. I would say for sure Pinball had to have some difficult conversations with his bosses the last couple days.
  2. Having 4 picks in the 2nd round was helpful for sure.
  3. I wonder if that happened when he got trucked by Bailey?
  4. Let's hope all the draftees this year exceed expectations and/or end up here.
  5. If I were a wagering man I would suggest that after all the media uproar about Kelly being there, some tall forehead at MLSE phoned Pinball and asked him WTF were you thinking.
  6. It's hard to label any draft pick a mistake really. At the end of the day you are rolling the dice that they will realize their upside. Some do...some don't. Last year was a very weak draft so teams had to stretch that concept even further. As you have noted, we didn't bypass any blue chippers by all accounts.
  7. I think systemic rot within the Argo organization has been out of full display for several years now despite protests to the contrary by Bluto. Something in his physical must have had them running for the hills I would think. Or maybe he just said I don't want to be in the CFL anymore?
  8. Could be among many other things. Yep, I am sure the Bombers will use the promo money for run shoulders with sponsors/sponsors clients, autograph signings at the store, doing Bomber commercials etc. etc.
  9. The fact he is gone bodes well for us I would think. Obviously we got NATs way more worthy of a roster spot in the coaching and mgmts opinion.
  10. Yes, but you still have to have the strength to be able to get off your block in the run game, and at least be able to push your OT back or at least maintain your ground so that the opposing QB doesn't have a huge escape gap. He couldn't even do that.
  11. Bad picks happen, the Bombers didn't hang onto him out of ego though. Mistake corrected. He had some upside IF he added 25 lbs of muscle. The Bombers should not have rolled the dice that he would do so at his age. In fairness with all the covid effect on the draft, last year's draft class was abysmal all around. A guy like Bennett in any other year is maybe a late 3rd round pick.
  12. I think it was a matter of body size but tomatoes tomahtoes. Bennett just got completely manhandled last year. I don't think his skill level was a problem but if you don't have the strength you don't have the strength.
  13. Bennett was an undersized pick that basically needed to get some muscle on his bones. I am thinking the Bombers gave him a timeline to do that or they were gonna cut bait and he didn't git er dun.
  14. I just can't see them getting full value on Hardrick's contract at this point of his career even if he will bring huge locker room upside. How in god's green earth is Logan Ferland worth 194k? That one blew me away. That guy is a pylon...actually that is an insult to pylons.
  15. All parties would have to include Kelly himself I would think, and I would think that Kelly would want to be there for the optics of maintaining innocence. I do not envy the Argos position here, either alienate your franchise QB or come off looking like a heel. I think the former is the morally correct choice from an overall perspective, but from a purely football franchise standpoint they went with the latter. Unfortunate.
  16. Yea....I am unclear why there would be a need for any use of the term otherwise. It would just be set in stone. Each team must designate X amount of dollars over the SMS floor. Ok thanks, that makes way more sense than being able to go nuts with SMS skirting. The use of the term "minimum" in this case is not meant to be used as anything more than to denote that it could be more based on revenues in the future not to mean there is unlimited spending.
  17. Hardrick really had a poor 2nd half of the season. Noticeably worn out. He was his usual great self for a while, but I don't think he's got a full season in him anymore and he was asking way too much to be a rotational guy. Most expensive sure, but not necessarily SMS wise. We already know a significant portion of BO's contract does not count on the cap....hard to say what the other guys are getting in promo. Bailey was in the 5th receiver spot. As good as he was at it, it's not a position we are going to blow our brains out paying him what he's really worth. Honestly, Bailey's loss will be felt more in the locker room than on the field. He did nothing in the playoffs either.
  18. I think we all need to remember that the Argos are being sued by the victim right now. They are in a real tough spot on this as they likely do not want to admit guilt. Does that make their actions right? Of course not. However, their lawyers are probably driving the bus on this right now.
  19. CFL, NHL, NBA, MLS....just a rotten company to it's core.
  20. Dunigan also had the misfortune of having an absolute wingnut of an owner.
  21. According to Naylor on X, the league did not agree to allow Kelly to attend yesterday. The CBA allows it, and this was 100% an Argo decision to let it happen. I don't know how to embed tweets but Naylor said that the league couldn't stop it without violating the CBA.
  22. Ok...well then that's no different from any other suspended player then. Can't practice, can't attend meetings but can attend the workplace. Really stupid of the Argos to allow it though.
  23. Yes, but Kelly's suspension does not start until the end of TC.
  24. Yea...I mean Bluto did victim blame but I think it was more he hoped and prayed the victim was lying, and it came out all wrong. We now know for certain based on Pinball's comments that Kelly ain't a victim of a smear campaign. I am sure Bluto will do the right thing now.
  25. Maybe, but from all accounts the past deals with Grant were pretty team friendly. I can't see him suddenly looking to cash in after the season he had last year.
