  1. Willie said "Come on down to the smoke" and Lucky listened.
  2. Actually Taman scooped him 4 spots behind us. We took Chungh at 2 and he took Demski at 6, we didn't pick again until 11 and wasted it on Addison Richards. Gotta be honest, not selecting him at 2 was smart. Everyone and their dog knew whoever drafted him was going to lose him to us as soon as he hit FA. The Riders got his rookie years and then he came here for the remainder and peak of career. I remember the Rider media just gushing over Taman's brilliance at picking up Demski that draft and I also remember saying I wonder how smart they will think he is when he is playing for the Bombers in 2 years.
  3. Off year in terms of durability, otherwise he is our 16th all star. I can think of numerous times teams have been swept 3 times in a season. Pretty sure it happened to us a few times too.
  4. I believe the poster had suggested that it had never been done in the history of the CFL....lmao
  5. Even Jesus might give up on trying against Big Stan and da boyz. Meh....same song and dance we heard about Cody Vaj's oblique last year. Dicky's lame attempts at mind games. Ok...John Dutton...settle down and quit pretending that the bank doesn't own most of it. Once a farmer truly owns a 10 million dollar farm he sells it.
  6. Rider fans seem to forget how much Harris levels up in the playoffs. That guy brings it when it's win or go home. He is the type of player that will put the team on his back if he has to. I think we are fine if Harris can't go, but the emotional lift that Harris playing will bring to the offence can't be overstated and it is something the Rider fans should be praying doesn't happen on Sunday. He plays his best games in the big games....and when he's at his best....even in an off season like the one he just had....he's an MOP calibre player. 4 All-stars and one who lost on a razor's edge to make it a clean sweep. I'm not sure how the Riders plan to get around that.
  7. My honest belief is that Harris was nicked up and we held him out to fully heal but he could have played a couple weeks ago if playoff positioning were on the line. Let's go hand around the heater and talk about how much tougher we are than Stove and the Jeffs.
  8. If the Bombers were to win 57-0 on 8 TDs and a punt single, TB's first post after the game would be telling us how lucky the Bombers are that the punt single didn't come back to bite us and we can't afford that type of performance in the Grey Cup. A close game would just give him more to be pessimistic about. Either way....he won't be disappointed.
  9. You cannot be detained without being chartered and cautioned. That essentially makes it an arrest. Even on an IPDA it goes as an arrest on your police contact file. Not trying to split hairs, but you cannot detain someone without placing them under arrest. Even for questioning. Arresting does not necessarily have to lead to charges but it must be executed in order to legally detain a person. The only way a person can be detained is if RICE is not satisfied, or for public safety reasons.
  10. The big difference between us and them is that our players hold themselves to the highest standard, and so does our organization. When a player slips up, like Lawler did, we lower the boom and show them the behavior is unacceptable. In Regina guys refuse pee tests, are rude to CFL officials and Earl's waitresses, and just generally act like asshats on and off the field while their HC plays 3 blind mice at the whole thing. They will never build a winning culture without accountability to themselves, their team mates, and the community. To be a winner you have to act like a winner in everything you do. There is nothing about their culture and the way they behave on and off the field that says winner to me. Is Purifoy's actions suspension worthy...I'm not sure...but man if I was a Rider fan I would sure be worried about the lack of discipline and class that permeates through that locker room. It just reeks of poor leadership, coaching, and accountability at the organizational level.
  11. Probably....but they won't. Despite writing up a big 10 page code of conduct after the Tillman fiasco back in the day, that team has never owned up to that document even once.
  12. Yep...Riders having a press conference about it right now. Hilarious...only in Regina does a brawl break out an Earl's.
  13. Purifoy was an allstar last night at Earl's in Regina. Spent the night in jail...lmao. Apparently he does not take kindly to waiting for his food.
  14. Purifoy could have been an all star if there hadn't been better players at each of the positions he played this year.
  15. Yep...can't have your cake and eat it too. Either AC and Woodard have over rated stats because of Micah, or like the Jeff's they get double teamed and Micah's stats are sub par playing between these two ends. The truth falls in the middle, just like on our DL....except our guys make plays more often and with far more consistency and that's not opinion...that's fact...one that has been expressed by pretty much every HC in this league....but what do they know? I mean honestly would anyone take AC, Woodard and Micah in exchange for Stove and the Jeff's. You would be instantly fired as your team's GM if you did.
  16. Jesus Sprinkles and Unicorn Farts The Cody Fajardo CFL Journey Coming soon to a bookstore near you!!!!
  17. Wow....Noeller's revelations earlier, and now JCon coming out as the son of a Rider fan....I have new found respect for mental health awareness because of this thread. I mean we all have mommy issues to some degree....but a mother who is a Rider fan....that's gotta be tough.
  18. Probably multiple times.
  19. Stove Richardson is a better DT than Micah Johnson at this point and time. It's not even debatable. Micah is a very good DT, not taking anything away from him, but Stove is a beast that draws as many or more double teams than Micah. Difference is he still manhandles them. Stats are for losers. The eye test is what matters and our DL is by far the best in the league at generating pressure, while shutting down the run, and containing opposing QBs. It's not just one thing with our DL....they are not one trick ponies. I guess that every team we've faced, including the Riders, saying we have the most dominant DL in the league falls on deaf ears in the big rectangle.
  20. Everytime an ounce of doubt creeps in I remember just how fantastic a group of leaders we have in our dressing room. They are a championship team that knows exactly what it takes to hoist the cup. If we had say just won our first playoff game in a zillion years then maybe I would fear we could not repeat the intensity needed but I know for sure we will be highly motivated and firing on all cylinders. I think the Riders have a talented team but in the playoffs it comes down to whats in the players heart and in between their ears. Watching morons like Fajardo, Shaq Evans, Nick Marshall, and Ed Gainey lose composure on a regular basis I would say we have a massive advantage in that department. I mean really...Shaq Evans quit on his QB on Sunday...literally...Nick Marshall with a 15 yard roughing penalty has become a weekly occurrence, Fajardo playing inconsistently from series to series, and Ed Gainey getting beat on a deep ball or two....these are weekly occurrences in Riderland this year and they occurred yesterday too. Do that against the Bombers and it will be a blowout. If Mitchell could hit the side of a barn this year the Riders would have gotten pasted yesterday.
  21. The ONLY thing I saw from the game yesterday is that we need to KO them and not let them hang around.
  22. If they do it for a couple home games and the exhibition, if there is one, that would be brilliant. We will get a hint if he is on the 24 hour roster or not. Doesn't mean he'll play, but they would have to activate him off the 6 game IR to do so and I can't see why they would do that unless he's going in.
  23. My thoughts on the WSF.... We can only lose if we don't show up mentally and take the game off. The only team we might do that against is the Stamps. Therefore, I want the Riders to win the WSF as it pretty much guarantees our guys are all up for the game and therefore we are assured victory.
  24. Bob Irving is the soundtrack to my fandom of this team. I will share my oldest and dearest play call of his that I remember. I was a young boy out camping with my parents. The Bombers were playing the Edmonton Eskimos ....we didn't have much success against them...the year...1984. The Evil Empire had a dynasty going....we were trying to turn the tide. It was a regular season game....tied up late in the game....a real slobberknocker for CFL dominance at that point of the season and a precursor to a changing of the tide. " Hank Ilesic is back to punt....ITS BLOCKED....this could be a touchdown....AND IT IS!!!" With that one sentence, that one play, that one play call by Bob it was apparent that the monkey was off our back. The Evil Empire was vulnerable and the tide was changing. Am I being a little too nostalgic, or poetic, with my description of the events of that day....MAYBE...but I can tell you that one play, and the excitement in Bob's voice ratcheted me up from a casual fan to a Blue believer. That's my story and I think we all have one that we remember about Bob. That's what makes him so damn special.
  25. It surprises me a tiny bit that it was Fajardo, but it is the modus operandi of that organization to throw someone under the bus when things go badly and DT gets his talking points from Reynolds and crew. Guess we know who the sacrificial lamb they are going to lead to the slaughter on Monday is.
