  1. Depends....were you trying to be a ******? If so then yes you did it right. You sure like to attack people that don't share your political ideologies but scream murder when they say anything that offends your sensibilities. Grow up man. I believe that both sides of the political system in the US is full of corruption. I think the majority of people probably do. I couldn't give a rats fig if their president is named Trump or Biden, I have no horse in the race. I just think it's comical to the point of being absurd how those who are invested in it will twist the facts to their belief systems and it DEFINITELY goes both ways. Every Republican is a liar and every Democrat tells the truth and vice versa is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard.
  2. Glad he is gone. Putin was enamored by him.
  3. Whatever man. Believe what you want to believe and attack the motives of those who disagree. Just garbage. That's for sure. I agree. CNN is not nearly as bad as FOX, and Tucker Carlson is a clown. Yea, when Trump started spouting his crazy and they saw the ratings when they reported it, it went off the deep end after that. True....unfortunate...but true.
  4. Problem is that most people are judging the facts they want to hear according to their own biases because that is how they are now presented. It is highly ignorant for anyone to quote CNN or Bloomberg as being more credible than Fox or the New York Post. BS runs deep on both sides of America's political scene. To say otherwise would be straight up gaslighting.
  5. Lol. The people of Haiti aren't as optimistic about her honesty as you are.
  6. Millions of dollars missing from the Clinton Foundation for one. We will have to see how far down the rabbit hole we get I suppose but Biden sure looks like he has got some explaining to do. https://www.maciverinstitute.com/2022/03/the-hunter-biden-story-was-always-about-joes-corruption/
  7. Yes, all of that is true, but let's be real, if the Dems don't nominate and run the ultra corrupt and ultra dislikeable Clinton candidate they probably could have/should have overcome all of that. Her very presence stoked the fire that fed Trump's support. Laugh if you want, but Trump did win the election and not every voter he had was mysoginistic, racist or selfish....a lot of them just really didn't like anything about Hilary or what she stands for and really didn't understand what they were getting themselves into.
  8. Agreed. The list of draft busts is littered with speed demons and freakish athletes who unfortunately could not run routes, catch, or just had a 2 cent brain. The measurables are all fine and dandy, but you don't get paid for your ability to dunk Oreos....as impressive as that is to watch.
  9. Yep, he was able to feed off the worst in people for sure. No doubt about it. A big part of the problem is the media in the US as well. They have broken into factions and aligned themselves along partisan lines and now there is no one calling a spade a spade, without another media outlet trying to run cover for their respective party. Fox, CNN...just two different sides of the same coin and it pushed the wingnuts and disenchanted out to the fake news and conspiracy theories and then you get the **** show that is US politics. Just a bunch of lies from both sides and no clear way of knowing who the hell is telling the truth, so a lot of people just start listening to who shouts the loudest....and then you get Trump reaffirming every wingnut thing they have been reading on Facebook and the stupid go along for the ride. Journalism is just as bad a cesspool now too and it's changed the way people decide elections really. It's no longer an informed and balanced decision...can't be...no gets an informed and balanced news source anymore. Thankfully, our media in Canada still has a certain amount of integrity compared to the US, but even here it's splitting.
  10. Look...I don't deny that Trump is definitely a **** show of the highest order but I see him as an outlier really. He got to power because everyone hated Hilary. I don't think he will be the next GOP candidate for president and many of the emboldened wingnuts that emerged in the GOP will get push over to the Tea Party. However, Biden and Pelosi are **** shows too. It's not a peter measuring contest but I suppose if you wanted to compare then it is a worst state of affairs than I thought. I would hope at some point the people of the USA decide to do better, start a new party, and get rid of all these wingnuts. None of them deserve office. Shock and awe politics. It's just gross to watch. US politics has become ultra partisan at the expense of the citizens because everyone is just making up bigger and bigger lies about each other.
  11. Maybe for some. However, for most it's just the truth.
  12. I didn't start this topic. Just responding. Please feel free to contact a mod to move everyone's comments.
  13. Wasn't talking about Bill, but yeah you could throw him in there too. Talking about Hilary....a woman so sketchy that the Americans felt Trump was more trustworthy. Yet you make them all the time to paint anyone who is a Republican or a CPC member as a radical. Weird double standard you got going.
  14. It's a very low bar. There are no good guys. They are all awful.
  15. Baloney....the Democrats are every bit as corrupt as the Republicans. Clinton and Biden are no better than Trump they just aren't as public with their corruption. It is gross to think their are people defending Russia's actions.
  16. Whatever works in the cesspool that is American politics. It's a gong show, and it isn't just a gong show on the right. The left has culpability in it as well and you will never convince me otherwise. It is gross and it is trickling into Canadian politics as well. Sad state of affairs. Extreme partisanship has taken over.
  17. Mock me if you want but it's probably going to happen. When the GOP take the house in 2023, they will begin by impeaching Biden. Whether it's justified or not we shall see, but I guarantee they will do so. They are already working on it. I am not saying I agree with it, but it's almost a foregone conclusion. The state of politics in the US is so toxic right now that I am not sure why anyone wouldn't think this is the case. Now, I fully realize that this means that the GOP must take the house, but American history shows that the Amerks like to make sure that at least one branch of the executive is opposite of the President. https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/03/politics/house-midterms-2022-republicans-democrats/index.html https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/ted-cruz-impeach-biden/2022/01/04/afc3f7ac-6da0-11ec-aaa8-35d1865a6977_story.html
  18. The GOP are not the only ones whose hands are soiled by Russian rubles. Looks like old smokin' Joe will be looking at impeachment too. How sad for the USA that they will have back to back impeached presidents. They really need to get better people running over there.
  19. I agree. Most people's commitment to acting on their beliefs is largely driven by how convenient it is to do so.
  20. Are you making the argument that past war crimes justify present and future ones?
  21. I agree. He shouldn't go poking bears.
  22. Would make a difference along the lines as it would require DL to be even that much further back, however, I agree that otherwise the difference wouldn't even be noticed. However, I don't see the point in it either. Whether it's a 110 yard field or 100m field....it would just be changing for the sake of change and offering no upgrade to the game whatsoever. No I don't believe that is what he is saying at all. He's saying staying on top is tough....and he's not wrong.
  23. I define the middle as a government that maintains/improves social services, keeping taxes stagnant, and running small to no deficits. I think many people share that as a view of the middle of the political spectrum. By that definition what we have seen from the Liberals is definitely a sharp turn to the left. Deficits were already out of control before the pandemic and are now staggering due to the pandemic. The overwhelming majority of PC supporters believe in science and were supportive of pandemic policies. There is a far right faction in our party that doesn't but they are the minority. I think you need to take a look at the deficits Trudeau ran compared to Harper/Chretien/Martin then tell me that Trudeau's spending was normal.
  24. It absolutely is true. The problem is that whenever someone swings in right/left fashion they tend to move the goal posts of what moderation is along with them. It would be insane to suggest that society in general hasn't moved sharply to the left in the past 20 years and politicians have picked right up on it. They aren't stupid. We have the Federal Liberal party occupying the space that the NDP once held and abandoning the middle, while the NDP largely are content to share that space not knowing what to do next. Justin Trudeau is easily the most left of centre prime minister in the history of Canada. I'm not judging the spectrum, just pointing out that there has been a huge shift. Who said the left has become radical? I stated both the right and left have swung away from the middle. I think there is a massive chunk of voters who still reside in the middle of the political spectrum and the party that can swing back to the middle will be the one that will have future success. If Jean Charest is able to convince the small C conservatives to take back the party from the Reformers the Liberals will have to take a good hard look at their leadership and their sharp move to the left of the spectrum. If Pollievre wins, it remains a polarized **** show.
  25. Calgary is the 4th largest city BECAUSE of the oil patch. Alberta is creeping up on BC because of the oil patch. Both Calgary and Alberta has seen population and business levels decline since the oil patch slowed down. They go part and parcel. Alberta is not as resilient as you think. Losing oil will be a blow to that economy. No one is suggesting that Alberta will become a ghost town or anything, but it would be foolish to think that a replacement for even a fraction of the oil industry's economic power in the province is easily recovered. Alberta's population rate has been slowing quarter over quarter for the past several years and is half of what is was 10 years ago. Wait and see what happens when provincial governments have to start taxing to pay the bills. https://financialpost.com/opinion/jack-mintz-will-alberta-become-a-have-not-province-if-it-loses-oil-and-gas#:~:text=As the table shows%2C without,Alberta would become much poorer. Of course, the above article is only valid if the province does nothing to diversify however that was my original point. The UPC or NDP or whatever incarnation of a party is in power desperately needs to start working now on a future for Alberta that is not almost completely reliant on oil keeping it from being a have not province.
