  1. Damn I grew up watching Dave, Matt, Chris, and Jock. It’s news like this that you really do hate to see. It was a faux pas, but my most memorable Schultz moment was I believe Michael Bishops first start for the Bombers in 2009. We won 13-12 after the Argos missed a game winning FG. Schultz went on and on about we masterfully “iced” the kicker, only we didn’t. The Argos got a procedure penalty that pushed the kick back.
  2. I mean, isn’t that fan attendance kind of a provincial thing? I’m sure the CFL will allow as many fans as the province will let them have.
  3. Man I know the CFL didn’t have a good plan last year. But at the same time, the federal government has been pissing money away left and right. Yet, they couldn’t spare to help the CFL? Seems crazy.
  4. Forget sex.. this is the type of news that keeps me happy.
  5. I mean after Streveler’s disaster against the Rams (he was used horribly), you’d have to think there’s a decent chance he’s back in the CFL by the time the season starts. Mitchell is a nice signing. We’ve been missing a game breaking receiver. Hopefully he’s recovered from his Achilles tear.
  6. Good god those names suck. I don’t like any of them.
  7. Arbuckle and Nichols switching teams is interesting. I wonder what happened with Arbuckle in Ottawa.
  8. Brandin Cooks has been a perennial 1000 yard reciever and is on his fourth team. Watson didn’t make him look like anything.
  9. I thought this said Jovon Johnson at first and I was extremely confused.
  10. No we got **** kicked by Montreal or someone like that and he had Brink kneel down to end the game. Your story happened too, but we also kneeled when getting creamed.
  11. I didn’t realize Lawler was our leading receiver with only 637 yards.
  12. Madani is hardly someone who is in the corner of the CFL. I couldn’t care less what that hack has to say.
  13. The only thing better is our Grey Cup win.
  14. Okay so here’s the rub, 80% like the name and think it’s honourable while 20% think it’s racist. Why are we caving to a vocal minority? In this case, the vast majority of people who have a say in this matter support the decision. Everything offends someone, if we need a consensus to make a decision there won’t be any names in sports(or decisions made in general). If 80% isn’t enough, what is? Another thing that annoys me about these conversations is that it’s (mostly) white people with no stake in the matter telling everyone else how they need to think. I agree with JT in that if the Inuit people do not like the name that it should be changes. But I don’t think it should be changed if four people consider it honourable and one considers it to be offensive. I don’t know if the Eskimos have talked with tribes in the same way that North Dakota has, but they certainly should. My personal feeling is that context is important. A football player wears his jersey with pride. I would personally consider it to be an honourable thing to be named after a team. I also believe that using terms like Eskimo in other ways allows the term to evolve and it can take away the racist stigma attached to it. However, as I stated earlier it’s the opinion of the Inuit people that matters. I’m personally not Inuit, so my opinion doesn’t mean a thing here. If a strong majority support the name, it should stay. If a strong majority do not support the name, it should go. It’s really that simple to me.
  15. I’m not either, the 01 GC will always live on in infamy and I probably won’t ever get over it. However, he picked fights with Rider fans and coined the Banjo Bowl nickname. That alone removes him from being my least favourite. I’ll have to go with EJ Kuale there. He was awful, committed stupid penalties, tried to justify it and MOS kept him in the lineup. God I didn’t think MOS would make it back then. As far as a favourite is concerned, the obvious ones are Khari, Milt, and Doug Brown. However, my favourites were always Charles Roberts and Mike Sellers. Those were two guys I could never get tired of watching. I wish Roberts had the work ethic and mindset of Milt, he could’ve gone down as the GOAT RB in the CFL if he did.
  16. Ray was great, but it’s crazy to me to say he was FAR better than AC. They were on the same tier. Its easy to forget that 3 of Rays 4 GC wins were prior to a real salary cap being implemented. Edmonton was alway a successful team who had more money to spend. It’s also worth mentioning that Ray had a mid career lull after the salary cap was Implemented and before he went to Toronto. AC isn’t the only QB who had some lacklustre years.
  17. Add Chip Cox, Diamond Ferri, and Sanchez to the Montreal list for the same reasons... POS guys.
  18. He didn’t go on a homophobic rant. He literally said that he doesn’t support gay marriage. He didn’t say that he hates gay people or anything derogatory towards them. Not to mention that gay marriage is still relatively new and that many people grew up in religious households where that is not supported. Someone should not be lynched for having a different view than you or I. We should focus on educating people on why that thought is considered inappropriate. Instead, we resort to calling the person a bigot and demand they lose their job. People participating in cancel culture as the ones who are saying we need to be tolerant of everyone’s views. Yet at the same time, are also the first ones to call a person a piece of **** on social media and not engage in any sort of discussion with them. I just think that educating and reasoning is a better option than automatically declaring that the person is garbage.
  19. Cancel culture claims Christion Jones as another victim.
  20. He was outplayed by Blaine Gabbert in his last year in the league, which was four years ago. The media frenzy may not be worth the potential upgrade at backup QB.
  21. I'm hopeful for the 2020 season but I'm confident the league will survive. I agree the government can't allow the CFL to fold.
  22. It’s actually a great idea. Eastern Canada is the issue anyways, things are more or less fine in the West.
  23. Good lord the TJ Jones thing is bush league. The guy is a six year NFL vet, he’s not some fresh faced Canadian rookie.
  24. Maybe by the time the season starts Chris Streveler will be making his way back to Winnipeg.
  25. Maintain the TV money and use the federal government to cover the loss of gate revenue has to be their plan.
