I think its time to move on from Jefferson. He's going to be 35, he's had declining production the past two seasons, he takes plays off and he costs too much money. Too be honest, he seems to get a pass from many here, while other players don't.

For all the complaints about Walters (and for the record I don't love how much he paid some guys), he's managed to sign 4 likely starting Canadians (Demski, Kramdi, Lawson, Oliveria), at worst a depth Olineman (Eli) and an excellent half back (Nichols). That's pretty good for January 4th. Look to our West where O'Day has yet to sign his starting rb (Ouellette), most of his receivers Johnson, Meyers, Robustelli, Nield, KSB, most of his offensive line, most of his defensive line, his back up QB (Maier), a stud Canadian linebacker (AJ Allen) and two key pieces of his sceondary (Campbell and Reavis). I'm just saying some perspective is needed.

Why the doubts about his staying power?

As always, hopefully our scouting is good AND we play some young guys. For example, I like the upside and Potential of Woodby, J.Smith, Shay and the two DEs who played the last game.

I could see Holm at least getting through a training camp and likely a season on a practice roster.

Which CFL team has an heir apparent in place for their starting QB right now?

Walters has brought back two elite Canadian starters for the offense in Brady and Demski, two potential starting Canadians on D in Lawson and Kramdi and an all star HB in Nichols. So far, I think his off-season work should be applauded not **** on.

Logan didn't look good at all last year. I think it would be ok to move on from him. Jefferson, Vaughters and Kola too.

Emilus does have 2 1000 yard + seasons and last year he had 588 in 7 games which is a 1500 yard pace. He's been very good the past 3 seasons. Great point that it makes the Brady deal seem better. Essentially that is what a top Canadian makes. You know who is overpaid as a Canadian, Robbie Smith at 235,000 and 0 sacks last year.

That makes sense that Emelius is the highest paid, more production than Philpott, similar production to Demski but younger. What I think reading that is we got a deal with Demski.

Kola, Logan and Gauthier are good choices. Corcoran is likely going into year 2 of a rookie deal so they keep him, although I hope he's a 2026 camp cut.

True North has a ton of real estate investment with True North Square and their project to renovate Portage Place. They also own the Alt Hotel too (I believe). The Jets are just part of the portfolio and they are likely better positioned than the Jets 1.0 ever were.

So looking at potential free agents, Allen and Broxton are both potential free agents for BC. Worth trying to get one if they make it to free agency?
