I might be in the minority with this, but Matthews dropped that ball. The DB made a solid play, but I still think that ball should have been caught. I also think Whitehead ran the wrong route on that play, him and Matthews were very close to one another. Aaaand on top of that, Matthews jogged for a good portion of that route.

That's legitimately been the way to stop this team the last 4 years? Maybe 5....easier said then done. This is a run heavy team, end of story. Ball control, high percentage plays. It's not going to change anytime soon.

They did it last year too fyi. With Streveler back there, they now have 4 legitimate options out of the back field. I get this. And I feel the same. I'm just not sure how losing game 7 of 18 changes the overall goal? In fact I would bet that it doesnt at all. I know losing to the last place team sucks, but when good teams play badly....theyll generally lose. Is the goal to win every regular season game? Or to get to the playoffs and fight for the GC? If people thought 18-0 was even slightly a possibility, they were delusional. I'd rather this team lose to the Argos and ticats than the stamps and esks. The only time we will really see if Nichols and this team has what it takes to win a GC is October-November. Everything else is just preparing for that. As of right now they're still in a good position.

In the big picture you're right, he got us to 5-2 after 7 games. Beginning of the year I'd take that. Yesterday was ****, and I'm sick if Nichols panicked and outlet passes, but...still lots of games to go for the team. Hopefully Streveler starts seeing some significant time.
