  1. Now that would be surprising, but I'd call it welcome news. He's won games in the CFL, it can be argued teams 'figured him out' as time went on but he was young and thrust into action early and had some decent success with a good supporting cast. He'll have that here, too. 26 when camp opens, decent wheels and clearly not afraid to throw the ball for better or worse. Competition breeds success.
  2. From 3DN article , made me laugh The 30-year-old was especially effective during the team’s Grey Cup run in his second season with the club, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown in the West Semi-Final against Calgary and throwing a touchdown pass in the championship game over Hamilton. During the ensuing celebration, he gained cult hero status in Winnipeg as he sported a fur coat and cowboy hat while consuming an inordinate amount of beer.
  3. Either we get him back with money we didn't have a week ago, or drive his price tag up even further forcing someone else to spend even more of their found money. Win win win
  4. ...and yet, the Seal was exclusively an Oshea thing, it can't go both ways
  5. Considering he made the phone call to release Woli, I'd call it taking ownership of the decision regardless
  6. Bighill on Winnipeg and the Bombers: The fans are great, the community is great. It supports you here. Great locker-room and great support – a lot of great stuff. It’s a good team, a good organization in a lot of ways. Something like that you don’t want to leave unless you have to. Woli on Oshea Lastly, Osh. You pushed me to be a better leader and a better man. You taught me to have respect whilst demanding the most from myself and others. I will never forget you or the lessons I’ve learned from you. It’s been a honour playing under you. Lawler on Oshea To Coach O’Shea, you have been the most influential coach in my life! You helped me understand how we play the game and who we play it for! I play the game for my brothers I go to war with and the toughest man on the field doesn’t have to be the loudest. Once I figured that out, success followed! Thank you Osh! Oshea has his faults, but his strengths shine through whenever his name is brought up. It would be easy for Lawler to praise his former coach as he leaves to collect another big payday, after all words are cheap, it's money that really talks. But for Woli to sing his praises even after everything? If it weren't the honest truth he could just stay quiet and say nothing at all, instead he writes an entire article about how great our team, city, and coaches have been. It just reinforces the commonly held belief that guys really do want to play here, if only there was money for everyone.
  7. I'm curious where he lands. Surely he gets picked up by another team, he's only 29 and no slouch
  8. At receiver? Probably Woli. Jake is a little slow and I'm not sure what his hands are like, but he is at least a BIG target Clercius brings a lot to the table in Wolis place. Question is does Clercius stay with the B&G if he proves himself better, and who is backing him up? FA and draft will be especially interesting this year
  9. I want to know... if Clercius can play guitar... Happy Trails Woogie
  10. Someone on Reddit claiming Woli has been released by the Bombers, nothing on transactions page Google Twitter so on, but supposedly he talked about it in his Insta... I don't insta... anyone verify this or squash this please? He extended thru 2025 last off-season but spent a lot of time tubbing it
  11. But feelings don’t negotiate contracts. “Oshe tends to stay out of contract negotiations,” is how Bighill put it. “He lets the front office do their part. So it doesn’t really matter what he thinks or feels, to some degree, I would say. The roles and responsibilities are different.” I thought I heard somewhere O'Shea was overly influential in who gets offers and who doesn't. This direct quote appears to be on the contrary. That, or he is demonstrating that his loyalty has it's limits. Either way even Biggie can agree it's time to move forward.
  12. Indeed Stanley Bryant immediately leaped to mind. Muamba was paid quite a bit to play for non-contenders. Lawler wasn't missing his playoff cheque when EDM went 4-14, he got paid real well to be on that loser squad.
  13. What if an also-ran offered more than a contender even after playoff bonuses? Like I say, money talks, if he can make more $ losing I bet he would/will time will tell and soon
  14. I imagine McManus goes to whomever makes him the biggest guaranteed offer regardless of their playoff chances, money talks
  15. Gets to serve his sentence intermittently, too. Like what... weekends? Soft and cushy, unreal
  16. Haha maybe but even if they are... not sure how that matters? He asked for something, they got it for him and then some is the point.
  17. The Bombers players and coaches may not have brought home the big prize the past few seasons but the Bombers are still wildly successful as a franchise by virtually every other metric... top of the league in attendance thanks to a massive contingent of season ticket holders, an overall record that eclipses the rest of the league dating back nearly a decade, continuous improvements to gameday experience and stadium operations... flaws exist (what org is flawless in sports or otherwise?) but to suggest they are unsuccessful is disingenuous Imagine being a HAM or CGY fan. Shoot me now!
  18. Yep, he asked for a new treadmill, they bought him four. CGY got absolutely roasted in that article.
  19. Dalton Schoen won ROTY in 2022, is that an indication of excellent coaching?
  20. My desire to see a win can also be described as unhealthy, that's probably the case for most of us here. This isn't just any championship, it's a once in a generation dynasty run not every sports fan gets to experience. A loss is just not an option A common theme here and elsewhere seems to be 'it's not just about the sports, it's about the people you enjoy it with' so win or lose I hope everyone takes a moment to appreciate those around you tomorrow (and here online too... I appreciate yall)
  21. O'Shea has secured his place on the Mt Rushmore of Bomber coaches and he's not even finished yet
  22. Do it while they're sleeping!
  23. I particularly enjoy the pregame content with Chris Walby, I never would have known about it if Zach hadn't posted it months ago. There is plenty of worthwhile content to watch and read if you're looking for CFL content I assume that like MBB at least part of your revenue is generated by ad views. I wonder if there is a way to throw a little MBB banner link up somewhere on your website, or a 'friends of the page' section somewhere? Get those clicks flowing both directions! A bunch of newcomers would really piss 17to85 off 😛 I don't know, just throwing it out there, I'm not an admin or anything
