Who goes under the bus this week, AC, same bunch ?
-
Meh, let 'em peak around Labour Day.
-
the hype for the riders is always turned up to 11, this might actually cause the end of the universe as we know it.
Yes, Rider fans jerking eachother off (and crying "jealous" when everyone else is too revolted to join in)is a given but I meant TSN will be a willing conspirator insofar that it helps promote their GC coverage.

Boo-urns

Delahunt.

Control Cornish and the Stamps offense is meh. Just not enough game-breakers and certainly not at QB.
-
Congrats Bombers, didnt want anyone going 2-0.

Calling Zontar! This is Hank Bain -- I've almost secured the SCTV offices! Although, according to the Planetary Almanac, the planet Zontar is about to get hit by a giant asteroid....
You'll need an advent screen. You do have an advent screen, don't you ?

HAM's defense sucking is certainly fair game but lets take it week to week to see if it progresses. No way Austin is going to let it rot like Cortez did last year. He's already made more moves this week than Cortez did almost all of last year.

SSK cuts Greg Carr.

Yeah that's right. Then EDM cut Rockhill and HAM resigned him, so it ends up being Masoli, Wojt, and Lawrence for Kanya. A starting OL plus two decent prospects for a decent Canadian special teamer.
Then add rec. Ed Gant and and highly touted prospect KR Tavoy Moore, whom EDM couldnt find room for, to complete EDM's bungle-rama.
-
HAM traded his rights to EDM last winter as part of a deal for QB Masoli, OL Wojt, LB Lawrence for STer Nathan Kanya.
Bad week for EDM.

And which of those things did Stephenson not offer...?
Its not about what is just offered . Its about what's offered that is better.

TSN says 2014 4th round pick.

Surprised they would let Stephenson go for nothing and then make a trade for Diedrick. I'm guessing they overestimated John Delahunt's abilities and then realized they needed a little more experience there.
More like they knew they realized after Delahunt they had nothing. In DD they get depth, experience and a passport and someone who can play STs too.
Delahunt was faster, more athletic and presents a much bigger target that Stephenson for Burris. I dont think Austin thought twice about it.

Greg Ellingson.

Diedrick for a pick (not specified). Interesting only in that isnt this the kind of deal that could have been done in offseason ? HAM gets some more CDN depth, experience for probably a year at least.
-
Congrats, blutes.
Goundhog Day 2013, another great offensive effort wasted.

I disagree, the bombers didn't have any sequences last year like they did in the 3rd quarter I don't think. Pierce has some issues in his game and it showed, but there were some good things in there that we didn't really see last year. They clean up the turnovers there might be something there.
Until Als decided to turn up the heat mid way thru third. Couldnt handle the pressure, had no answer for it and not a point scored after that.
-
Random observations.
- stadium looked cool
- Als look about the same as last year, offense still good, iffy defense.
- Bombers look like a carbon copy of last year. (so far) O-line same old same old.
- too many unforgiveable second down conversions to MTL
- horrrible missed PI call
- Burke has to take some heat over not taking the safety.

The comparison I drew between Austin and Milanovich was two rookie HC's who won Cups with, as you described, "favourable" conditions.

Lots of fans and media will take the easy target and blame Hawkins for destroying a dynasty of awesomeness under Trestman. But last year , quite often, they looked very ordinary and beatable. The rot has set in before this year - Hawkins might just accelerating it.
