Simionise I really hope wins job over Petermann in camp because he has the skill set that that they need. The big down the field receiver. Type of guy who catches only 50 balls but gets 1200+ yards.
This thing that football is dying sport is completely nuts. The NFL is making more money than they have at anytime. TV contracts are growing. Each time a TV contract comes up the networks are falling over them selves to win them. Yes attendance is down but that’s more a society thing where people would rather watch it on TV.
They also did have a tornado outbreak roll through Alabama last weekend. Think this league goes on fir a while yet. In the off-season they will move a couple teams to better markets. Ultimately I think the NFL buys it and uses it as a feeder league then really attendance is not a concern.
These leagues have produced guys who have played been drafted in NFL. Also just had a QB sign with AAF https://www.americanfootballinternational.com/former-vienna-vikings-qb-new-starter-for-memphis-express-of-alliance-of-american-football/
I get the skepticism about it from the the bits and piece of info that the media have put out. I sat and listened to him talk about this for hour on Friday it’s not as crazy as people make it out to be.
These leagues are looking for a partner to grow the game. The commissioner said on Friday night that when he started talking to these leagues that they were really surprised that he asked them how the CFL could help them grow and develop. The NFL had dictated what the relationship was going to be with them to benefit of only the NFL.
My opinion on CFL 2.0. We are all here, I would assume because we think that the CFL is the most exciting brand of football right? Why would we not want for people in Mexico, Austria, German, France, Finland, ect, to think CFL when they think football. Share what we love with millions more people seems like a no brainer.
