  1. There was a pick 6 left on the field when Denmark slipped. Not saying that was Goltz's fault as it wasn't but that would have been a killer.
  2. Calgary Herald Stampeders beat writer Vicki Hall tweeted this afternoon that Drew Tate reinjured his throwing arm at practice today. Don't know the extent of the injury. Stamps being mum but looks like Kevin Glenn gets the start vs the Riders on Friday from what I can gather. The Stamps fanbase is getting fed up with the injuries Tate is accumulating & are hopeful that John Hufnagel leaves Tate unprotected in the Ottawa expansion draft. A significant number of Stamps fans are also wanting the team to move on from this guy & play Bo Levi Mitchell as the starter from here on in. Tate's now being referred to as Buck Tate on Stampeder fan sites. Nice security blanket with Kevin Glenn.
  3. On the cusp, On the cusp. There's a gleam, men. A gleam.
  4. No, the kid is a rook for all intents & purposes & willmake mistakes but the guys that stand out didn't make throws like that when they started. He's had accuracy issues in the past from what I've read. Great qbs at least, know how to protect their receivers. That's his job & the least a qb can do for his guys. Not hanging them out to dry like that. Career ending hits, serious injuries concussions will be the result. If Goltx can't hit a crossing route over the middle right in front of him 10 yards off the LOS when he is untouched then why is he playing? How many years has he been making that throw???
  5. Anyone still have one of those, "I Was One Of The 12,000 At The Eastern Semi Final" t shirts? (I was there that day in 1986 vs Hamilton as I had season tickets. But of course the Bombers sold so many t shirts a hundred thousand claimed to be there that day.
  6. I heared the same thing The Unknown Poster heard & thought it was garbage. Absolute garbage.
  7. If Goltz's accuracy issues don't go away then declaring him the starter for the rest of the season will be a disaster. He was lucky a couple more of his throws weren't picked off as they were off target. Throwing behind receivers on crossing routes??? Wow, he's going to get his receivers seriously injured doing that as well as one hoppers. From what I saw yesterday, he's a decent runner when he decides to take off & below average as a passer. The guy played D3 for a reason. With his size & physical capabilities he should have been a sure D1 player. But he wasn't.
  8. For KJ to come here would be a lateral move. And leaving a winning team. Unless Chamblin drives him away I don't think he'll come here unless it is as a HC.
  9. You know, Tim seems kind of relaxed & joking in that video. He seems to be a likeable chap & it would be great if he could become a successful coach with the Bombers as it would be great to see a nice guy finish first but he really seems clueless in that interview. Seems to him all we have to do is wait for Justin to figure things out & we're off to the races. Whoo hoo didn't know it was that easy. C'mon Justin get your **** together & it's a Grey Cup parrrtay fer sure. I feel so much better now. It's all become clear.
  10. Who are his contacts south of the border? I'd love to see a list. If I'm wrong & he has lots of them then I'll shut up. Like I said, he was a school teacher when he retired. The TSN gig is a part time thing that pays extremely well. How does a school teacher get NCAA contacts? If he called Texas Tech or LSU today & left a message, would they call back? What about the Philadelphia Eagles? Would they even know who he is?
  11. Bluto, not convinced that Duane Forde can do the job. Other than an analyst on TSN & an expert on Canadian born players in the CIS & NCAA, his background is a high school teacher. To my knowledge, he has no coaching or scouting contacts in the US. So if hired, we'd have a guy in Forde who'd be a great personnel guy running the team as GM with even less contacts than the guy we have now. How will that help us??? If Forde wants to eventually become a GM then let him do what everybody else does, get a front office scouting job, get paid to be a grunt doing reports, player evaluations, scouting college games, running free agent camps & do what Jim Barker did for years, take the entire month of August & visit almost every NFL training camp as well as NCAA school that he can. Somehow, I don't think he is willing to get his hands down & dirty. Sounds like he just wants a GM job handed to him. That's the last kind of guy I want running this team. Someone who thinks he's entitled. The last thing I want is some guy coming down from the TSN booth being paid $200 grand thinking he knows everything when he doesn't when I or any one of us could do the same job he could for a lot less. We need to go in a different direction with an experienced GM like Tom Higgins.
  12. Yes, remember it now. Surprised I forgot.
  13. My point is, finding American players to play NOW isn't a problem. But to find Canadians ready to play that are of any quality & unsigned, especially on the OL is next to impossible. That's my point & why our OL is a mess. We heard Labatte wanted to leave. Maybe he did & maybe he didn't. We can speculate but as we were never in on any meetings we'll never know for sure what really happened. We have lost other Canadian free agents. We don't sign quality Canadian guys to replace them. It never balances out so we continually suffer.
  14. Nonsense? Then Mr GM go out & find three new Canadian starters on the OL today, sign them & bring them here in time for the next game? Can't? Really???
  15. Never said he had to blast Goltz. But he said other strange things like he was happy with all 3 phases of the game. That the team was dynamic. That they were on the cusp of ... of.... something. I have no frigging clue what? Burke is lost in an alternate reality if he's happy after that loss. Blast Goltz? He's the least of their problems. I don't want a coach happy, giddy or satisfied after a loss.
  16. Using Joe Mack's philosophy... If Brendan Labatte had been drafted by another team & becams a free agent he wouldn't be interested in him because he already likes what he has now & doesn't like other teams free agents. So when a guy like that is available he isn't even on Joe Mack's radar. It is ridiculously short sighted & stupid & why he has to go.
  17. To me, it is a coach who is running out of ideas. He's already tried the disciplined approach. He's tried the angry approach. He benched Pierce to send a message & that hasn't worked. Now, the fatherly approach seems to be the flavour of the week. He doesn't know how to fix this mess.
  18. One reason is on the OL it is harder to find starters because it is mostly a Canadian position. So, they have to be drafted & brought along. On the DL it is an American position so more game ready players can be brought in. One area Mack is terrible at is free agency. He won't sign any CFL free agents. If a Canadian OL is available he ain't coming here through a trade or free agency because Mack doesn't want him. We always hear how he likes our guys better & not other team's players. Well, we are seeing the fruit of that moronic philosophy now. Doesn't help he drafts a Canadian OL who has been out of football a year & has shoulder issues. Drafting is great but these players take time. A great GM builds his team by trades & CFL free agency as well. Mack doesn't do that. Talent is talent. Mack doesn't go out & get it.
  19. Everybody trashed Logan & was glad he was gone....Not saying you did but fans here even laughed (on Our Bombers) when he wasn't picked up & retired.
  20. Bad teams always find ways to lose. Also, in a football game 4 or 5 plays change the outcome of a game. Winning teams make those plays & losing teams don't.
  21. What bothers me almost as much as the loss was Tim Burke's peppy & feel good interview after the game. He sounded giddish saying it was a good effort on the field. That all 3 phases of the game were better & he was happy with his offense. He asked the fans for patience. He called the team "Dynamic" & vowed it would do special things once the winning started. And he & Justin Goltz in another interview mentioned the Bombers were, "On the Cusp" 7 or 8 times. Most out of touch interview I think I ever heard a coach make in all the years I've watched sports & I'm not exaggerating when I say that. We're in even more trouble than I thought & for the first time now I believe Tim Burke has got to go.
