  1. When you listen to Kyle walters he is always quick to dismiss the hosting the cup thing. In his words "we're trying to win every year, why would we do anything different this year? Honestly I think he knows change needs to happen and he's not being asked aggressive keeping the whole band together. I think a lot of complacency snuck into this group.
  2. And yet the thing that let the team down the past 3 grey cups has been the offense.
  3. No one builds a successful team through free agency. You use free agency to bring in a couple pieces and build your team through other means. This team didn't win all those games the past 5 years by accident.
  4. The elks were a **** team with **** players. They're dumping their trash and trying to build their team through free agency.
  5. Yeah Walters has done some solid signings... You don't use free agency to build your entire team, you use it to fill specific positions and trust your scouting staff to fill in the rest.
  6. The idiom "jumping the shark" or to "jump the shark" means that a creative work or entity has evolved and reached a point in which it has exhausted its core intent and is introducing new ideas that are discordant with or an extreme exaggeration (caricature) of its original theme or purpose. The phrase was coined in 1985 by radio personality Jon Hein in response to a 1977 episode from the fifth season of the American sitcom Happy Days, in which the character of Fonzie (Henry Winkler) jumps over a live shark while on water-skis.
  7. Jake Thomas broke his brain last season.
  8. And when I look at what Kyle Walters has done so far I actually do see a plan. Got a vet at MLB, DE, signed a receiver, kick returner/rb.... I mean those were needs he addressed. There's still a whole offseason left to make further tweaks. I know it's tough watching other teams make a huge splash... but those were the teams that had the most holes. How would you like to be the argos watching their whole DL take off?
  9. So really I'd have liked to see Garbutt in camp to compete but it's not a catastrophic loss.
  10. Well just at the DE spot Hubert got a shot, and Bennett the year before.... Haba got a chance but got hurt and ton and never really developed. I think you're taking your displeasure at a couple positions out on the roster as a whole TBH.
  11. That was my joke, kick his tires he likely winds up on the IR
  12. Oh I'm not getting into contract details, just focusing on what he does on the field.
  13. No one thinks he's the bees knees... just that he's better than you give him credit for.
  14. This is why I have a hard time discussing sports with normies in real life... we got the die hards here who hang on every piece of news so trying to talk to people who get their info from tsn during games only.... aye yi yi.... Yeah Facebook exists to have a group chat with people where we can dump whatever random thoughts we have out there and share pictures of kids so grandparents can pretend to be involved in their activities.
  15. I feel you're under rating all 3 guys because of a lacking stat sheet. World beaters? No, but you can do a lot worse (and we have)
  16. Well what did you expect from garbutt and fox when they spent most of the year on the IR? Both are at worst solid contributors... Now Cole as well was injured a bunch bt dude makes plays on teams and where ever they line him up on defense. At worst all are well worth a chance to compete in camp and if they play it's not a bad thing.
  17. Qb forcing the ball to his security blanket and defence teeing off. Plain and simple.
  18. Can you blame them? Toronto sucks.
  19. Jackson Jeffcoat probably counts. They retained him forever. Nichols I'll throw in as well.... when you get into the niche of impactful, home grown not born within a stone's throw then you're shrinking the pool of available options. Overall I'd say their ability to retain players is fine... but we're probably in a point where some turnover needs to happen. Now let's all argue about which turnover.
  20. Sergio was like the first guy to re-sign no?
  21. Well it is true that with mbb posters the cuts would be the easiest part of the job
  22. Well Brady gonna get like 90% of the touches...
