  1. So you basically treat it like Doug Berry did with Kevin Glenn in 2008? How'd that work out for the team in both the short and long term?
  2. You know what it really is with the OL? It's the inexperience. For example I've seen Gray make some absolutely killer blocks, but I've also seen him miss some. Just don't have that level of consistency that we saw previously with a bunch of long term vets.
  3. No that's the definition of being average.
  4. I don't think that's mental, I just think that he's a guy that when he's having a bad day he's having a bad day.
  5. I know people are only thinking about the most recent games but honestly I think Nichols is best at midrange throws, he just doesn't have that in the game plan enough. Lapo wants bombs or dump offs to challenge the perimeter.
  6. Oh? Because I've been signing Nichols praises to the high heavens have I? Maybe go back and read what I've actually said... I've said he's not been playing well, I've said he's a flawed qb, but what I'm not doing is laying it all at his feet because that's bullshit. All I am doing really is arguing with you folks who are ready to run the guy out of town after he's led the best team we've had in almost 2 decades.
  7. He didn't become anything, he's the same guy. 2002 #1 receiver on the team Milt Stegall, #2 Arland Bruce... #3 and #4 Charles Roberts and Mike Sellers. Dumping the ball off is what Lapo has always done. Cripes he did the exact same **** when he was head coach too. Remember all the complaining about guys running 7 yard patterns when they need 10 yards? He is the exact same guy he has always been. Can draw up a good playbook and must do a good job during the week, but as a play caller he absolutely ******* sucks because he does 2 things, he outsmarts himself and he calls a passive game. I have more faith in Ritchie Hall than I do Lapo and that's saying something cause Hall isn't the best coordinator out there either.
  8. Irrelevant. Besides that Nichols isn't nearly as mentally weak as Glenn. He's probably a less talented player with a stronger mental game which puts them on roughly equal footing.
  9. So then if Nichols goes out and has a good game there can no longer be any argument about Nichols place? I somehow think that even if he goes off and has a big game you and your ilk would just wait in the weeds for the first bit of trouble to appear and pounce again. There is literally nothing Nichols can do to appease some people because at the first slip up they will be back on him.
  10. Now I was kind of drunk when that last game was on, but it looked to me like Kongbo knew how to get into the backfield pretty consistently, yeah losing Jeffcoat sucks but really not worried that we don't have replacements ready to go at that particular position.
  11. Well for starters, I don't believe Nichols is a bad player so your argument really doesn't get off the ground there. Neither do I think Nichols is a great quarterback either. I think he's a guy a lot like Kevin Glenn where he can do enough to win games if the rest of the team is on board with that. So here is what I think, I think that Lapo is a horrible play caller, and that's been something that comes up every stop along the way. It's not that he's a bad coordinator, he is just a horrible in game coach, which makes it hard on his offense to run at a high efficiency regardless of who is behind centre. Look no further than BC for an example of a known good qb struggling without the support from a good game plan (because let's face it, Reilly could get a lot more help from his OC despite the talent problems on that team). Guys like you have written Nichols off as terrible and there's just no two ways about that. He's a guy who isn't terrible though, he just needs a lot of help to get the most out of him and right now he's not getting it from his OC who likes to play passive in close games or with a lead. It's the whole ******* reason he was fired as head coach here!
  12. I still say the biggest impediment to winning a cup is our offensive and defensive coordinators. Cripes remember the change that happened to Drew Willy the more time he spent with Lapo and how Nichols was a breath of fresh air? And now the things people are all over Nichols for sounds a lot like the things they were on Willy for? Immobile, checks down all the time... can't improvise... maybe it is time for people to consider that Lapo is a **** OC for a qbs development.
  13. Haha if he was a pilsner drinker his wife never woulda married him.
  14. Andrew Harris save my ass.
  15. As witnessed by them doing nothing about all the school shootings.
  16. Hall just needs to lay off the blitzing to force quick underneath throws. It's too easily read by opposing teams.
  17. I'd take playing against a rusty BLM with a bum shoulder.
  18. No whataboutism means ignoring obvious problems to try and find faults in the "other side". Gun violence is a problem in the USA and it is the Republicans who ignore that. No point in trying to what about the left on anything.
  19. Whataboutism again. Time for a new playbook dude. Fact is this isn't a left or right issue, it's an issue about nuts with guns shooting people.
  20. Actually all I have seen "progressives" say is that it's time for gun control and to stop promoting hatred and division...
  21. But even when he says that you dismiss it. No for folks like you Nichols can't win.
  22. Some of you have too high standards. It's the same bullshit people got on Glenn for. Just cause a guy isn't constantly breathing fire doesn't mean he doesn't care of doesn't take responsibility. Hell Ricky Ray never showed any emotions either, now granted he was a much better quarterback than Nichols, but point still stands.
  23. It only felt like that if you have an axe to grind. What it is, is a guy explaining why the throw was bad. Came off his hand wrong. We've all thrown a football before, we have all had a ball come off the hand poorly. No dismissing anything, just a guy saying that's what happened. It's not excuses, it's reasons.
  24. **** that ****, Nichols offense got the Bombers out to a 20 point lead and then they did what Ritchie Hall defense do on the drive prior to half with a big lead, they played soft prevent D, trouble for them was Toronto didn't make mistakes and it gave Toronto all sorts of momentum, and the Bombers offense went into the patented "don't take risks" mode after that and it further built momentum for the Argos. It's been the knock on Ritche Hall since forever! I can remember reading posts on rider fans where they were pissed off at his prevent defense 10-15 years ago. Ritchie Hall's favourite snack:
