  1. They need to clean up the practice roster on the bye. Should have another edge rusher, American or Canadian. Drop one of the OL. Pick a punter. Pickup a running back and if that guy can return kicks too even better.
  2. They don't gain a DI though. The scenario you're casting would force them to sit Cole. The nationalized players are still in a DI spot.
  3. Yeah the Bombers this season are far too sloppy of a team for that line. Lots of sacks and turnovers on O this year and Edmonton does have a pretty disruptive DL. Return game right now is risky.
  4. Loyalty to Collaros above all. Highest-paid player and without him we're ******. If you can't protect him, you can't see the field.
  5. A little bit of excuse making for OL group that has largely got their asses kicked week after week this season. Scheme and play calling doesn't account for that. Bryant and Gray have been generally ok. Gray is a super athletic guy that isn't best suited to the interior ever, especially if he's not moving forward, if it's all pass protecting he starts drowning. The right side has looked both slow and weak this season. Neufeld having a hell of a time deciding what to do in pass protection, endangering Collaros especially when there's no back waiting there in the protection to clean up that inside gap. Hardrick is looking very stiff, hardly even bending into his stance wonder about hips, knees, groin, back, not a ton of power coming out either way, appears to be having less trouble with figuring out his assignment in protection than Neufeld but is getting beat lots more than we're used to seeing. Watching this game in a hotel room with a couple buddies who also coach OL/DL...the one guy has a theory on Neufeld and some of the other Bombers that they keep coming back because they know the talent is still here to win, but personally they are more than ready to move on. When you see efforts like this you might buy into that theory.
  6. Burris re-emerged for a minute but had lost his job by then. Lucky for him a 9th team showed up. 2013 was kind of it for Lulay and Durant. Lulay injured in 13 and Durant started with the injuries in 14. Reilly was coming up after a few years.
  7. Bennett's the same age as Kongbo. Not sure how he becomes a player unless he finds a way around the drug test as a DL. No real redeeming quality, speed/bend the edge? No. Power? No. Moves? Haven't seen anything.
  8. And none of them started the Grey Cup. Sammy Garza vs Damon Allen and Rickey Foggie
  9. Even if you want Briggs in at WIL then you have the opportunity to get that cheetah pack out there on the DL without having to plug Thomas in.
  10. For the sake of sanity I kind of hope Haba is injured. Nuts. Even if you're selling out for pressure, Briggs is out there every down so Thomas doesn't need to be. We don't have our best guys on the field.
  11. 25-23 TD was Bennett Strong, Thomas 3 tec, Walker nose, Willie rush
  12. Jeffcoat was strong end, Walker nose, Thomas 3 tec, Jefferson weak Jeffcoat really struggled vs the running QB. Great to drive up field but huge gap left behind. Especially when we rush 4 and B gap is wide open to start with.
  13. Fine surpassed Harris total passing on his 8 passes in relief. 122 to 115. Fine 146 total offense to Harris 133
  14. Calgary stayed focused there. Compare that to how we looked in that OT tonight. We were stunned.
  15. The D needed one more stop., they made stops The O needed to do anything. The O didn't pick up the team at all. And like you said that's where the money is. Like drive to the 45 yard line once and let Castillo kick for 3 anytime in a quarter and a half --> GAME OVER
  16. I can't imagine anyone can watch the season to this point and not be uncomfortable putting Neufeld out to protect their franchise quarterback. To me that's an easy switch. The amount of times he's not even blocking anyone and wildly swinging his head as someone takes a free run into the pocket, even on his inside gap, or just popping up to try to lean on guys without bringing his base, feet, with him...can't do it. Can't be out there. We have other options. Guy is hardly a speed bump even right now.
  17. The D got stops. The O needed one score in almost a half to win...in a CFL game.
  18. Barnes looking pretty damn good for a 3rd round rookie. McCheese looking like the Hamburglar.
  19. 2007 basically when they started televising all games no blackouts. Generations way different too. I doubt the stadiums are ever packed and rocking week to week like they were in old stinky half barns.
  20. Yeah I mean outside of Castillo everything else pretty unexcusable.
  21. Yeah that's punt or go for it territory. Man Nik Lewis is literally round now. Looks like he could be the OL coach.
  22. Because if the O does anything over 20 minutes of game time that drive doesn't even matter. The D turned Ottawa over on third down twice and the O scored zilch. Get a FG on one of those possessions...GAME OVER.
  23. Yeah even if the Bombers score a rouge in the 4th they win. One FG. Kind of reminiscent of O'Shea's first playoff game in BC where the O just goes ultra conservative and lets the other team back in.
  24. Pretty classic ACL look there or leg fracture with the big guy rolling onto a straight leg.
  25. I didn't have issues with scheme on D. Kind of half rewatching now. Such poor execution, just sloppy really. I'm up over a dozen missed tackles on Crum behind the line of scrimmage and that's not even including all the times the ends overrun the pocket. Ends just bolting straight up field leaving huge gaps for Crum. As the guy gained confidence he sees more and more of the opportunities to move around. Keep that guy in the pocket, keep VAJ in the pocket, no chance they can beat anyone. Yeah it might take you 5 seconds to get a sack instead of 2, but you give those guys no chance to do anything because they won't be beating anyone from the pocket with their arm.
