Damn, I forgot about the Cardinals. St Louis has really been jobbed by the NFL...

So stoked for this, the cast is super lit. Giancarlo goddamn Esposito in Star Wars!

Will they knock anything off the ticket price if you wear a Romulan uniform to the games? I kid, I kid. I might go to a Dragons game just to check it out, esp. if there's some ex-CFL players to follow there. Was just in San Diego and every second ad on my phone was for San Diego State Aztecs football ... "we're staying to represent San Diego!" they all said. As an old Wpg Jets fan, I really feel for these great football towns that the NFL is crapping on .. but then can't feel too bad for St Louis since you have a Stanley Cup as a consolation prize...

A couple years ago I flew from Oakland to Seattle the Monday after a Raiders home game. The passengers were me, my wife, and 250 Raider freaks, most still dressed up in their gear, and in one case, with fresh corpse paint makeup. I bet the LV Raiders will have a *lot* of fly-in fans. It's so cheap to fly into Vegas, and Raider fans are a special breed. Sucks that their owner is such a greedy ******, tho I shouldn't cast stones because I've never been in the position to turn down a half-billion stadium subsidy because of my loyalty to my best customers...

It's time to hand the ball to Captain Blue

Such a great photo, avatar-worthy. -
Wonder who the emergency QB3 is for the game this week? (hoping I don't learn the answer to this question obvs)

remember when we were trying to figure out precisely where the massive voter fraud happened in 2016? So is the chair of the Federal Elections Commission.

no, I seriously think that Johnny Manziel will get another CFL shot, and that SamCanadian's best football years are still ahead of him.

as a QB, does Bridge's passport matter in more than a warm and fuzzy "yay 🍁 QB!" way? anyway, here is my ranking of potential free agent Bomber emergency airlift pivots, disregarding all other factors, like whether they are physically capable of playing, willing to unretire or are admissible into Canada. I think Atomic is right, not a lot of great options out there. Ray > Glenn > Lulay > Bennett > Willy > Pierce > Bishop > Crompton > Fever > Max Hall > Buckley > SamCanadian > Brohm > Bridge > Manziel

My only point is that LeFevour is better than Bridge. I don't want either of them but I think we'd be marginally less boned with the Fever running the show than with Bridge.
-
Dude won games for Chris Jones who in 2018 had an occult power to win games he had no business winning. Seriously I'd rather see the Fever back. Dan L is just as good a runner as Bridge and has had a couple competent passing games in his career.
-
Brandon Bridge is not a CFL quarterback. Dude is like what would happen if you took Bishop and subtracted every ounce of upside. No thanks.

Labour Day / Banjo Bowl is weird tho. That's what makes it so awesome, records don't matter, starting QB doesn't matter. Justin Goltz won a Banjo Bowl. Matt Nichols won one on two days' practice. Brett Smith beat us. Rocky Butler. 1-7 vs 7-1 in 2011. And Cody F. is far from the worst QB rolled out by either team. Truth is false and logic lost during these rivalry games.

It’s time to hand the ball to Kevin Glenn

I think back to that game against Calgary a couple years ago when the team abruptly soured on Davis and rolled out the Fever. Our offense looked like a high school offense -- Fever was 13/19 for 91 yards, but zero picks. We won the game because Calgary was having their usual late season snooze and Andrew Buckley was brutal, and the turnover battle was 7-2 in our favor. A very Lapo/O'Shea win, we played boring and let the other team beat itself. -
My first home game in 1983 was against Saskatchewan and everyone was chanting BC sucks at that game.

this is such a great play I can't even. Starts off looking good with Couture, Desjarlais, Gray out in front. Couture casually disposes of 31 and keeps rumbling downfield...all credit due to 31, he gets back up and stays in the play. by the end of the play, pretty much the entire offense is out blocking for Lucky. Love seeing these guys move downfield like a damn phalanx Desjarlais does a Paddy Neufeld and plows 32 way out beyond the end of the play ...as the Bombers celebrate, the camera pans past 32, sitting dejected at the 10 yard line...dominance.

When I saw the injury I thought "oh no he just got Lulay'd.". I wonder if he'll ever be able to get back to where he was. All the best to him in his rehab/recovery and I'll always be a fan whatever happens and wherever he plays ... No one should ever forget that he was the QB1 who brought the Bombers back to contender status.

Ijeoma Oluo is a friend of a friend of mine. This week, some right wing ****** tried to swat her ... make a fake emergency call that appeared to originate from her house, in order to draw a maximum police response and get some people shot. Luckily she had some notice that she was a target, and she had contacted the Seattle PD ahead of time, and they confirmed the story before rolling out. If she hadn't? Who knows. That's where we're at down here. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156216722867676&id=616977675

That's the icing on the Lucky play that set us up for the TD ... young kid puts the team in a 2nd-and-19 hole, maybe costing a TD, but then the O converts it, no big deal. That's a big teambuilding moment. Man that Lucky play was a thing of beauty, two big OL out in front of #7 paving the first 10 yards or so and then Lucky doing the rest. Just love seeing those big men turning space into more space for our lightning playmakers.
-
my HH is Thomas, dude was feasting tonight. Love seeing those sacks from interior linemen where they push the OL right into the face of the QB, like a reverse airbag

Getting things square with Wade - 500th home game

Schedules his interview during halftime so as not to disrupt the game ... pure class. -
I don't think he'd even be able to order one. The price tag would stun him!
-
I have heard the players -- the people actually putting their bodies on the line for our entertainment -- appreciate how cagey MOS is with injury information ... and if the players are good with it, then I'm good with it.

It's time to hand the ball to Streveler.

except that that's exactly what happened in 2016 when Nichols became QB1 O'Shea's patience seems long but not infinite. Both Willy and Hajrullahu got ample opportunities to work out their issues but when they didn't, they were replaced suddenly and permanently. -
Figured the Als would be in tough without Stanback and Adams, but they've looked all right so far.
