No particular reason. I’m a football nerd, and I’ve thought about these things far more than I’d care to admit. For example in my head, star DBs should wear 21 or single digits. Nasty interior OL should be in the 60s. Tall WR’s= 88 or teen numbers. No reason why, it’s just an aesthetic thing for me. When I played minor football as a kid (Safety/DB), they gave me 46. Drove me nuts. That’s a fullback’s number lol. John Madden actually had a whole chapter on it in one of his books, he had the same system in his head. Probably the same reason I care about uniforms, turf, stadiums more than the average fan.

Not that it matters but I was hoping strev would take #16. It’s just such a perfect QB number, I can’t explain why. Same reason fast RB’s should be #22 and power backs #32. It used to drive me nuts that Freddy Reid wore 32 lol

What’s your take on losing those interior DL? Is there enough depth there to replace 2 studs + possibly Oakman as well? l see Ouelette as a huge loss as well, The announcers talked about Kelly but I saw the Argos running game as the harder aspect to deal with. No one was able to pin their ears back on the QB until the EF. I was actually really hoping to see him in blue & gold when it looked like Brady was gone.

I read that in all caps. Yeah I’ll admit I thought he was awful in spot duty. I think he’s developed into a quality starter in the right group.

Agree. A better reload could have been done in-season over the last 2 years. If they want to keep the run going they kind of need to make more wholesale changes now than would have been necessary. As a guy who does physical work and turned 36 last year, I really didn’t like seeing the whole core of the team hitting their mid-30s at once.

I don’t want to be doom and gloom but maybe this is actually a mini-rebuild with 2025 in mind. We’ll see after FA but it’s starting to feel that way for me. Different note, I can honestly say they lost something intangible when Andrew Harris left. Like it or not, the guys won championships at every sport and every level he’s played. He brought something extra that just can’t be replicated.
