Yeah, I was never a huge fan of Lapo but you’ve gotta be fair, he never had the support from up top when he was HC. The timing of his firing was bullshit. The team had to go on the road for a month to start the season. Lousy QB room and not much other offensive talent to make up for it. Garbage drafting. I’d say he got a raw deal from that management group.

Agreed, I’ve never seen a play caller consistently fritter away leads like that. As a play caller, he always struck me as sitting on his secrets, not wanting to give anything away on film ever and calling the passing game super conservatively until he didn’t have a choice.

I really have no idea but I would assume FIFO means more like “don’t be a malcontent in the room and do your job on the field within the scheme.” I don’t think it means “have no personality” I doubt the leadership cares about the colour of a guys gloves. In Mitchell’s case FIFO definitely means he’ll have to catch a football pretty soon though.

I’d say Gauthier is better than Biggie as an every down run-stopper, Biggie still better for short yardage. Agree a proper DT/nose rotation makes everyone look better. I don’t think they’d be totally screwed with Gauthier, circumstantially it’s still a pretty big fail imo.

Bauming seemed adamant it would be Wilson moving to MLB, Cole at WIL, and Kramdi at dime/sam. That doesn’t sound too bad actually, makes more sense than Gauthier getting a huge amount of snaps.

Like all the DTs they kept. 5th WR is puzzling, I really hope it’s Wilson over Mitchell, but based off the game I don’t see how either of them beat out Johnson. I’m positive McGhee was the only one to accept a PR spot, there’s absolutely no other explanation. Gauthier at starting MLB is a huge fail.

You guys are probably right about Rivers. I bought in because of the sack in the first game. True enough. Wilson though is a guy I’d really prefer they move on from or lessen his role, especially after what we saw from the new guys tonight. Like you were saying before he’s +30 and always hurt.

Rather see Thomas in from the start over Wilson and Kelly over Hallett honestly but I’d have to agree this is the most realistic for week 1.

1. The interior DL. Just what we all wanted to see. 2/3 Tre Thomas and Demetrius Ford making plays stood out the most in the front 7 and secondary respectively. HH- DT and DB. After listening to that shitty Sask feed last game I’m extra grateful for those two.

Right? Johnson, O. Wilson could be players with our actual offence. Impossible to tell with who they brought out tonight. I know they’re banking on what they saw seeing Zach throw to whoever in practice but it’s kind of frustrating to have an open spot at WR and not have the starting QB throw to any of them in a game situation for even a series.
