Nichols did the minimum, which was the right thing to do when your team's D is dominating field position. The one thing he couldn't do was force the ball causing turnovers and he did that.
When the field tipped into our end and we were in our endzone Nichols stepped up and hit wolitarsky for a 25 yard completion in a tight window. THAT was a TSN turning point, imo.
Count me in the group that was satisfied with Nichols performance.
I think Walters and O'sheas fates are tied together and if one gets fired, the whole house gets cleaned.
O'shea is very responsible for turning this franchise around and attracting FA talent that want to play for him.
I don't know if he gets enough credit for the team-building aspect as he should.
That being said I don't know if he can push us over the top for a championship.
The one thing the bombers have going for them is the ineptitude of the east.
Firing O'shea pretty much throws in the towel on the year and while I don't know if he should be back next year he does get the chance to limp in through the east.
Yeah its ugly but ultimately we are in a playoff spot right now and that has to be taken into account.
The problem is if we win an eastern playoff game. Then it's a real question
Front 4 has to get home.
Have to finish our drives, 3's aren't going to cut it.
On our first possession have a time consuming TD drive.
The moment we're down by 8+ we're toast
Realistically 2 weeks from now we're .500 with a chance to really turn it around on the back half.
Has Nichols been objectively bad this year? Yes.
Do I believe Nichols and the team can turn it around and be above .500 to end the year? Yes
I have absolute faith this team is making the playoffs this year
