  1. And the TiCats move out of the basement!! So the BC Lions lose their starting QB, lose 3 out of the last 4 and the one win is against the team that is ranked last, yet somehow they are viewed as the 3rd best team at the moment? Stamps - Bombers - Esks - Riders (those to could flop atm IMO) - Lions - RedBlacks - Argos - TiCats - Als
  2. I tend to agree with this. If they go after someone I would think it would be "Jones' Guy" Franklin or Collaros. Conveniently, they are in Hamilton next week are they not? lol In those situations it is one of his guys who has done a little and shown promise, and the other is a guy who I think was just in a really bad situation. Collaros is, IMO, still a pretty good QB. I don't think any team would have any interest in him via unless he renegotiated that contract though. Would you pay him 520 per, I believe all base? I would think if they try to move someone it will be that St John, but at this point would anyone put value on him? Seems like a bust. Adams got a fair bit of hype coming into the league and while from what I saw of him I am not really buying it despite a few wins. He just seems to have ugly mechanics from what I recall in Montreal, but his mobility is crazy. If there was a trade to us for him I would be interested in a QB swap though (no, not for Nichols lol)
  3. Well, he paid a bit for Adams, but not huge. IIRC he made a trade for the that QB from Toronto last season, name escapes me, where the one Canadian (Sewell??) retired instead of reporting. I can't recall what the trade was exactly, but I remember it included Lemon, which was a pretty big deal IMO.
  4. I never implied that, some chose to get their panties in a knot and chose to read it that way. When you do something good and there is a call that goes your way I consider that a lucky break and capitalizing on it, which is a good thing and a normal part of the game and what good teams do. We did it, they didn't. By no means do I say that taking capitalizing. We capitalized on lots of things like some nice interceptions where it was not even so much bad throws, but the D stepping up and winning that ball. I love when the secondary is aggressive on a ball like that. I will take any interception, but when they straight up win that ball, that is a player/team playing with confidence, and after a rough loss a week ago it was awesome to see them step up like that. While the first half was close and they put up a pile of yards, by the end of the game we dominated, even if we trailed in some stats. We won every phase of that game in the end. We took advantage of our opportunities, we clearly won special teams, despite being lit up early the D created turnovers (which has been missing for a while, the ball hawks are back!!!), the O started slow but just got better and better as the game progressed, and I would say we won in coaching as a whole. One thing that I really liked was I felt Nichols took the next step, or a step towards it. He has been statistically horrible with heat on him, especially on deeper throws, but he stayed calm in this one and either dumped it off clean or made at least a competitive throw. Loved that.
  5. That was a pretty sweet play. I think it was a combination of beautifully designed, executed and timed as well as a little bit of ineptness on the riders behalf. only a couple of their guys stayed in their designated lanes lol. Beautiful play
  6. Nobody is saying luck won the game, simply that opportunities were capitalized on. That is what good teams do. Not sure why people are all hot and bothered by recognizing that when we had something go our way we took advantage of it and when they did they generally didn't.
  7. See, and this is what I am say right here, there is nothing wrong with recognizing we got a couple breaks and took advantage of them, while meanwhile they never took advantage of theirs to the same level. That is what good teams do. And yeah, agreed that their decision making was brutal. While it was close at half the Bombers adjusted well at half and the riders did nothing really. It was pure domination at that point.
  8. riiiiight well, hopefully a few people around here look at things objectively. It is nice to actually talk ball without goggles the whole time.
  9. I thought The PI allowed for a huge momentum surge, so it was pretty big, especially going into half. Take the goggles off. For a fast example, the one interception I don't know how we were not called offside. It seemed pretty clear. I am not saying that the riders didn't get some breaks, I never said that remotely. I said that when the Bombers got them they took advantage. This is a good thing. These breaks happen all the time (especially in a Proulx officiated game), it is part of the game. Difference was we capitalized a lot more than they did on some of the 'iffy' reffing, and yes, it was iffy, both ways. I know a lot of people like to look at things really tinted in how they look, that is not me, I cheer for the Bombers as much as anyone, but that does not mean that I can't be unbiased and not look at the grander picture, because I am a football fan first. I don't know how someone could sit there and say the Bombers were not beneficiaries of a few calls, and I could say the exact same thing for the Riders. We just did something with them.
  10. Things go like this in every game. It will always happen. The Bombers had a few breaks and took advantage, that is all that matters.
  11. They adjusted beautifully, especially on O. I thought we got a fair number of lucky breaks on calls in the first half, and when they did they took full advantage of them for sure. Got nervous with a few that should have been picked off as well. The game was pretty tight in the first half, but I think we got lucky with that one PI. The punt return was a thing of beauty. The big thing was this D that keeps giving up the big plays finally got turnovers. I said before that the turnovers masked some of those busts IMO, and it showed again today. Adjustments in the second half equated to domination. Interesting season series. Essentially a game of equals in the preseason game and first regular season meeting and then a dominating showing by each team respectively.
  12. I would suspect that that best chance for the riders is likely holding a ramped up Bomber team to start. Bomber's also have to avoid what have been big contributors to the last 3 rider wins, which has been explosive starts combined with turnovers and bounces going their way. Being too jacked up can be a bad thing to, but I will take my chances and side with that extra energy most times lol
  13. I think right now it would be largely shrugged off, but in time I don't think it would be. The thing is that this doesn't have to be some massive draw, and it is likely better when it is not in all honesty. Getting into some of the combines and such is pretty limited seating, which is smart as it does not take much to hit capacity then, and also creates a pretty big demand. The fact that it is, as of now, all free is huge. Build this up for a few years in the strong markets, and then start cycling strong market/weaker market. If you are getting the 600-1200 people at this event it is a win, and no market should have an issue doing that in time.
  14. Yeah, I would think this is CFL week. I actually was out that way and managed to take some in earlier this year and it was a great experience that the CFL can really grow. Family orientated and very interactive. This will be the 2 bread and butter markets (Winnipeg and Saskatchewan) of the CFL so far. I think that once this is branded and successful for a few years that it becomes a massive tool for places like Toronto.
