2020-21 NFL Discussion Thread
Bubba Zanetti replied to SpeedFlex27's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Yup, me too lol. Nothing has been more frustrating this year as watching Sanders rip in up early in games, only to see Scott and Clement vulture TD's while Wentz proceeds to put the team in negative game scripts with his horrid play. -

That and they dont run the ball enough. Sanders is averaging like 6 yards per carry yet they let Wentz, whos a turnover machine and has clearly been struggling all season, sit back and huck it 40 times per games, even in games that are close. Pederson's play calling is a joke. -
IMO he was an ok QB that managed to squeeze out every ounce of his skill and stuck around for a long time. He needed an excellent team around him to reach that next level, as opposed to some QB's that can drag people with them and almost will them to be better. He was just good enough to break your heart. It was his nonchalant attitude that always drove me nuts. Ill never forget a post game interview with Bob where Glenn had a brutal night and threw a game ending pick. Bob asked him something like "so kevin, you had a rough night out there, that last interception, the game was within reach, do you maybe wish you had made a different decision on that one?" and Glenn's response was "well you know, its just football. Its just a game. Ill wake up tomorrow". I remember Bob seemed to be at a loss for words after his response. It always just seemed to me that he lacked that fire and drive that most of the greats have.

Dont forget the blatant pick play that led to Hamilton's only TD in the Grey Cup. Should have never counted. If you take it away(i choose too lol), after the first half against Calgary in the west semi-final the Bombers D gave up exactly ZERO TD's. Blanked Calgary in the 2nd half, no TD's given up in the west final against sask, and 1 fictitious blown call TD given up in the Grey Cup. And all that done against the three top teams in the league standings wise. Underdog in each game. Unreal. Try to remember a better defensive performance in a three game CFL playoff run. I cant.

Another huge play in the west final for me was the 66 yard Collaros to Adams bomb when we were inside our 5. I loved the play call. Im so used to a 3 yard run followed by a 4 yard pass for a two and out in that scenario. It was so refreshing. We go two and out there and sask likely starts on our side of the field or we concede 2 points. Big turning point for me that could have went the opposite way.

The Dunigan 713 Game -- Makeshift Broadcast

This needs to be made available for public consumption. Some way, some how -
He goes great with a nice vinaigrette

What?? Are you telling me there isn't a market down south for a bizarre 32 year old journeyman quarterback?? Pshaw you say! He is a package deal though, comes with a bunch of ancestors.

The last thing I want to see before I die is my wife, my daughter, and that Thiadric Hansen special teams hit. Not necessarily in that order.

Jesus, late august and we were still rolling out Fenner, Gaitor, and Hecht? I don't remember that! -
Sweet, maybe all the players will go into a big snake draft. Itll be like Madden! We'll have 9th overall pick though Probably end up picking Nichols in the 1st round lol.

Its just such a damn shame for a lot of these older players. For guys like Bighill and Harris on the wrong side of 30, missing a year could spell the beginning of the end. Everyone loses a step as the years go by and its hard enough staying in shape when you know youre going to be playing, never mind be off for a year and a half+.

I'd love to see what each players personalized message is. That's a neat wrinkle. Not sure if that's been done in the past. -

No one is arguing about the ring. Its clearly beautiful. Some of us think it would be even nicer with more blue. Looking back at some of the previous years, the winning teams colors are more prominent. -

Would have liked a little more blue on the sides. Seems a little plain. -

Forgot all about Big Mike! He was a beauty. Definitely one of my all time favorites! -

Yeah Bell was a tool. Arrogant, not all that good, and had a stupid mustache. Pretty easy to dislike. For me other dislikes would be Dave Donaldson(crappy play), Sam Hurl(crappy play), and Henoc Muamba(jerking the team around and being a hired gun whos all about the money). Joe Mack is in a league of his own when it comes to dislikes Favorites would be Milt, Walby, Roberts, Juran Bolden, Terrence Edwards, and Khari. -

Dave Donaldson?!?! Lol, Double D! Man I hated that guy. I remember a play where he was beat like a rented mule(I know, be more specific), and the receiver was like 10 yards clear of him. The QB underthrew the ball and it got caught up in the wind so it ends up hitting Donaldson in the back when the receiver had to come back for the ball. Donaldson starts jumping around, and giving the incomplete pass signal with his arms like he just made some great play lol. He was beyond terrible. -
That was one of the dirtiest hits i have ever seen in any sport. Khari throws an interception like 30 yards down field, and Philion is about 5-10 yards away from Khari and has more or less stopped his rush. He sees the interception, immediately turns towards Khari(who was basically standing still and nowhere near the play), and blindside hammers him at full speed. Needless to say the fat f***, out weighing Khari by like 80+ lbs, completely obliterated him. It was a 100% intent to injure play. I wouldnt be surprised if that was the start of Khari's shoulder problems. If not it no doubt made it worse.

There was a 15 year stretch give or take where I went to nearly every training camp. Always took the week off from work and went everyday. In true Winnipeg fashion ive sat through +30 weather one year, and sleet the next lol. Loved just sitting with the old-timers and talking football. So many training camp stars that seemed destined for greatness only to fade away. I remember watching Ramonce Taylor one year and was sure he was the next superstar. Lots of memories but a couple stand out for me. Watching Milt, year after year, embarrass whichever hot shot DB they put across from him in 1 on 1's lol. That and watching Charles Roberts sitting on his helmet chatting with Milt and the other players during stretching drills lol. The dude was amazing and put next to zero effort into his conditioning. Man, if he had worked half as hard as Milt did during is career, we would be talking about him as the greatest CFL RB of all time. No doubt in my mind. Shame really.

Travesty. How can a game from the 90's not be available on video?!?! I can probably watch the freakin' Fog Bowl from 1962.
