  1. Picks for how the rest of the season will play out. For the team and players as you see fit. record 11-7. most outstanding player. Andrew harris. His blocking, clutch runs, great catching out of the back field and running at times with a struggling OL. Hes done every thing you could ask for. Lineman Stanley bryant. The ol has been up and down, but hes allways steady. Even in some games where the OL played its worst he managed some strong plays. canadian Harris again. defense A hard one. Lots of guys should be in the running, but Mo leggett has been clutch, and steady. his lapses are very few and far between. teams Justin medlock. The split in touches with fogg and mcduffie will make the best kicker in the league an easy choice. rookie Taylor loffler. Slam dunk, Random predictions. No wr with over 1k yards receiving. Andrew harris combines for over 2k yards from the line of scrimmage. Ian wild leads the league in tackles. Fogg and leggett finish 1 and 2 in interceptions . Nichols finishes with 2500 yards, 65% completion, 6 picks 16 tds.
  2. It certainly is an impressive list of doing the same type of work at the pro level. cant take that away from him. When a guy has that many pro jobs doing the same thing, hes doing some thing right. especially when you look at the number of organizations.
  3. Its not the number of roles hes held that impresses me. Its the number of high quality qbs hes managed. Either he has a wally buono size horse shoe in his butt or he knows how to scout, develop, and manage qbs. Weve seen guys like bellefool with a long history struggle greatly. Rod rust and others as well. How about that comparison, buono vs milanovich. Buono has certainly had the highest level of success for the longest. But milanovich is slowly creeping up on him.
  4. I would certainly love either of those. I dont think lulay happens. Glenn, idk. At the same time, glenn will win you the game or lose you the game. I dont think he can manage the game like nichols is. Even if nichols (imop) hasnt been great and glenn is better, I think in our system glenn would do worse. Wow this topic got crazy de railed.
  5. No clue. Dont know if we'd have an advantage with that or not either. If they are interested id flip one of neufeld/keeping as well. Ideally get back a package of guys/picks.
  6. anthony coombs would be a nice pick up. Could play some wr and rb to back up harris. Take lochards spot. I also like cody fajardo as a prospect.
  7. it used to happen actually. Teams would blast generic crowd noise through the speakers. Dave ritchie complained about it, a team was penalized then the next week the refs handed the penalty right back to us.
  8. besides the money, the fact that not retaining him worked out soo poorly would only reinforce a desire not to repeat that situation. The double standard here with qbs is causing people to blind them self to the facts. Willy is damaged, not ruined. How much so the teams have a much better idea then the board. He was considered a strong mid level qb with high potential going into the season. The league is generally qb driven, its a rare thing for a D and teams like ours to perform as they have over the long run. The difference between nichols and willy isnt as great as some would think. What is, is more intangible. The OL turn around, D rounding out into maybe the best in the league, and teams steady improvement into a top unit isnt all because of the qb. Nichols was apart of the winning atmosphere we developed, but not the soul cause of it. Willy fits Torontos system as well. And millanovich likes to test the mettle of his qb and put them in the hardest situations. Doesnt get much harder then the first few weeks of our season. montreal could look to move on from glenn who wont get any better. Hamm could be interested if they believe now that masoli is no longer a qb of the future or present. I could see some other teams interested in him cheaper for a back up. Having a guy on the bench who has won games, and in the clutch late in games is a valuable asset. The question is at what price. if he is a stop gap in case a star qb gets hurt, hes worth less and if they have to pay him a lot of money the value is even lower. Look at the far worse qbs weve seen cycled through the league for a long time. If willy was a FA he would have plenty of interest. I dont think there is going to be massive return by any means if we traded him. Probably a package that slides around salary cap relief and young talent. The other team taking more or less of willys deal, neg listers, maybe current young prospects or depth draft picks.
  9. false advertising! lol To be fair, ham was a power house of a team with much hype going into the season. They are .500 thanks to us. Its not like we are going into all these games with them being sask esq. The league has a ton of parity this year. as shown by the standings and records. ott (with out hank at qb) bc and calgary are the class of the league. Calgary will have a real hard time keeping up that hot start. Some might argue ott is in the middle tier, but imop they are at the bottom of that top 3, and my favorites to win the east. Sask is toast extra burnt. mtl has a ton of talent but is a couple losses away from being cellar dwellers too. Thats the fairly clear bottom. ham, to, edm, and the blue are in the middle. We are all fairly even. We have a leg up on to and ham. edm has a leg up on us. One of our tier is probably gonna be the 3rd team to miss the play offs. And it could be a dog fight to the end of the season. We are in a position roughly to fight for a home play off game in the semi. And thats about right for our record and the strength of the teams we've played. This team reminds me a lot of the 2000-2001 team. I dont expect the win streak to go that long, but I dont expect us to win 7 games either. Win streak, re emergence of the franchise, finding a bunch of new guys that are big time players, and a roster finally gelling into a team.

looking at the dates yeah he inherited that stuff. (I know less about wrestling then the riders know about class) Id say there is a very good chance then looking closer at the time lines that he inherited a lot of built in hype. yeah that was an awful decision. I think every one but those 2 judges had it 30-27. Thats what i had it and the vast majority of people on mma decisions had it for barzola. Fight metrics points to him winning clearly too. idk whats worse, mma judging or the use of the 10 point or less system.
  11. he has a spot when you cant have a guy like fogg returning full time and starting at db. He was solid on a night where again nichols was throwing some what wild and not finding any one with much consistency. And had a nice run.
  12. That will certainly be the core of our wr group, if they can get and stay healthy. Mayo is the spot thats up for grabs, but hes been performing very well. I imagine we will continue to DI mcduffie too. This offense seldom throws the long ball. We try and do the exact same thing our D thinks wont happen. Short, under easy high percentage passes that you have to string a lot of together to score. None of our qbs are great deep ball passers. Short to medium possesion type qbs. Both nichols and willy have struggled putting the ball on the money on medium to longer routes. Tons of diving catches, misses, and throw behinds. The D and teams have pick up the team and run during the win streak. With our offense doing enough to win / not lose. With our qbs and plop at the helm I dont see that changing. This is very similar strategy to what we did under MB. this may well be what Mos wants. TOP grinding offense that protects the ball. Not to mention the 4 qbs we have, have very similar skill sets. davis/bennett are more athletic and bennett has more accuracy troubles. But all of em are short-medium possession passers.
  13. they do though. jfg especially over the past year or so. We start ni Rb and FB and harris rarely comes out. Our sub in wr for most of the 5-6 packs are ni and have to be due to ratio.

lol yeah. The quality of the fox cards has been on a sharp increase. Cant help but feel once that deal is done the ufc will replace it with the live streaming service. Though I think having live free events on tv is a big tool in garnering fans.

ehh cant say how much of a hand he had in ufc guys crossing over in wwe back in the day etc. It could be that that and into some of the super stars like gsp did the marketing for him. And the novelty of the sport. It certainly needs more work to market now beyond the fan base thats established. I dont follow wwe so i cant speak to that stuff, but an olympic gold medal in wrestling is certainly a fast track in the ufc. that card was fairly entertaining. The vanzant KO was pretty sweet. Dont often see a switch kick ko. Minor shades of lyoto/silva with that one xD. Pettis looked good droping the weight. Id love to see him fight mcG one day for the stylistic match up alone. Maia ran through condit like silva through forrest griffen. Knew it was a tough match up for condit but I didnt think he'd get rolled like that. I suspect weve seen the last of condit in the ufc. I could see him going ot bellator and having some fights with rory mac or benson if he goes back up to WW there. I could just see him retiring too.
  16. I think adams and davis are questionable but yeah we are certainly banged up. Kohlert. jfg, and richards have been 100% invisible. Jfg has been all of last year too. In the case of him and richards i tend to think its them. But kohlert idk hes a good wr. Maybe just doesnt fit well in our system. :s
  17. vets have the right to get a 1 year no option deal, but there are still 1+1 deals for vets in the cfl. Starting in 2014, veteran players signing a CFL contract that is not their first are not required to have a team's option year added to the contract, therefore they may sign a single year contract.
  18. probably has to do with all the dropped returns, and the 2 bad drops when we tried to work him into wr before he got banged up. hes hit or miss. Bowman esq (but not that bad) Hes showing legit flashes. But jace davis was doing similar early in the season. Lets hope he can keep it up.
  19. ehhh mayo has looked really good. He has hardly used harris catching the ball. Denmark has been a man possessed. He and willy have both seemed to have lost kohlerts number. But hes stoddard solid. Ours wrs especially in the 4th made some slick catches. Catching a ball thrown behind you is as tough as it gets. Smith and dressler would certainly make a real impact difference though.
  20. thats 1 yr plus an option. He isnt gonna get nfl interest imop.

wow the promo clip they are playing for gall vs punk. Punk says "hes been fighting soup cans and he thinks that makes him a pro..." just WOW.
  22. you dont need to have that guy, but it is a great tool to have. When your struggling like this, trying some different stuff and using some gimmicks can help. We have a package of stuff like that, i call it the smith package because we liked to run that stuff with him, and a few similar guys have taken the spot since hes been hurt. Id love to see the milt option toss some in the red zone. (the play he broke the td record on) Play action to harris, roll out, harris runs the shovel forward, a wr runs the option back and you have a wr cross the field maybe a fade on the play side. Ott under paopao used that stuff to great effect. would be a great position for davis. Both our depth qbs are more athletic versions of willy/nichols. You dont risk your starter/holder getting hurt and teams expect a qb keeper. that would of course be great. But in the cfl, it seems the only time you are at 100% is the preseason and maybe week 1.
  23. Its a little soon for that. I think frederick draws back in before long, he was our best db over the games he played. Loffler is gonna cost a good penny to keep around long term, if he doesnt get nfl interest which at this rate he will. I could see fogg getting interest as a returner alone. Over all our D line production hasnt been great for the guys we have there. The lbs and secondary are playing at a crazy level though. The future is certainly bright though. I do expect to see us come back down to earth a bit in terms of turn overs. But this D is really good with out the turn overs imop.
  24. they certainly do have a monster d. Its more of a front 7 d as opposed to ours which is lead by the back field and lbers. This has been an issue though through out the season and going back further then that. agree with that, you gotta throw it to the end zone in that range. Catches under neath coverage and before the end zone are what the D wants, unless you got nik lewis out there.

I dont mind punk wanting to switch to mma. But he shouldnt be starting at the top of the food chain. He shouldnt even be fighting in any of the low level pro circuits. ufc on fox 21 tnite, and its a good card for a fox event. lauzon miller, rawlings vanzant, olivera pettis, and maia condit. Really excited for maia condit. Im a big carlos condit fan, but maia is probably the hardest match up for him at WW.
