  1. It’s true. Such a damn waste. Would think that’s what this is too, also maybe Laing. But as the roster is I don’t think we need a generic utility big body. We are gonna be loaded with big tweeners who can do a lot of situational stuff.
  2. No lack of talent in that tandem. A whole lot of could’ve been greatness between those two.
  3. Think he lives there, might've been a rookie camp flyer. Mightve been out of shape or who knows what. Too bad, I love his combination of athleticism, skill, and grit.
  4. Yep, he showed out some great tosses when he wasn't confined to some wildcat trash system. When I think strevy, I still think about some of the frozen rope deep balls he threw in college. By NFL standards, he is an elite level combination of arm talent and athleticism. If he didn't have the arm to make every throw on the field, he never would've been more than a TC invite. Nfl teams are not sitting on guys who cant connect on the deep ball, especially none draft picks. Look how long rourke was down there. He has every single physical attribute you could hope for, and a great head on his shoulders. Strevy lasted way longer because he not only had the talent, but the ability to fulfill that talent, and hof level leadership. We have never seen strevy in a good situation to succeed up here. And despite that, he has overachieved and made tremendous contribution for us. Unleash the guy, and then judge him.
  5. Honestly, our edge play was so bad last year, and he's guaranteed to be replacement level at worst. Yep. The NL is the premium blue-chip guys you wait on for 2-5 years. It's the first and second round picks equivalent of Imps. We considered him a premium blue chip imp, then traded up giving up probably our 2nd best Canadian dl, to pick him 2nd over all in the global draft. Expectations should be Hansen but more polished in the pass rush. Now hansen excelled a lot based on his insane work ethic and willingness to sacrifice his body. That isn't at all common, and is incredibly valuable. He isn't likely to be the same guy as hansen, but should provide the same or more value.
  6. That’s a great idea. Sadly I don’t think they will do it, as they seem content to rely on the global pipeline for that.
  7. Nothing wrong with his deep throws at all, he threw a couple beauties in the NFL. It's all the former lapo-buck tomfoolery with him. He can't survive in an offence with deep routes, no one can in the CFL. We saw lots of that last year where everyone runs a 5-yard out and the D runs downhill, making an easy play.
  8. If game 1 drive 1 starts with strev in an empty back set followed by him running QB power for 1 yard, it's gonna be a long season. If he drops back to pass with a deep route as much as he runs, it's gonna be a gooder.
  9. Yeah looks like they are really high on him. Best case scenario might be a full nfl camp and a mid to late season trip here. It’d be best for us if he’s in our camp next year, but a year of qb coaching and play against nfl athletes/competition is incredibly valuable. Especially at qb. That’s what I figure too. If elgersma doesn’t come up this camp I think we will still be fast to move off qbs4 and down. greatly agree.
  10. The suspension will force a different usage in our preseason games and the implementation of our new playbook. They are going to have to get Strevy a lot more reps with team 1 in practice and in the preseason, and the rest of the QBs less preseason snaps, as well as having our starters play more of the games. Strevy will have to be ready to go with our starters and our system in game 1 and Zach in game 2. Having a bye in week 1 is going to make this much easier, but it will still be much harder for the depth QBs and some other positions to get their snaps in. We've got 5 QBs plus the extra arm in the CIS kid, and then Elgersma is likely here soon. I expected a cut when Elgersma gets here, it may even be 2 QBs cut early in TC this year.
  11. Of note from Mos' interview, Jarious Jackson is not in attendance. He is excused with a personal matter, and they don't seem to have a timeline on his arrival yet.
  12. Some people a province over from us probably cooking up an angle now of he was only good he’d because we juiced him to the **** lol right? Soo bizarre.
  13. Just saw this news wow. Apparently they tried for 2 hours to get ahold of him for drug testing in the off season and he didn’t respond with in 24hrs. He will fully participate in pre season and tc. CFL and cflpa say they are going to clarify and improve the process of contacting players for testing.
  14. Yup, basically if (more like when) he goes down we will have to flip the ratio, or play some one around the jamie stoddard line at best. Maybe they really like Corcoran, who had awful testing. 17 linemen out jumped him at the combine. Think he was the worst testing wr/skill player drafted this year. A bunch of DL beat him in every single measurable at the combine while being 40 lbs heavier. We should be looking at other teams NI wr cuts this year, one way or another.
  15. Depends on how we decide to do the roster. We could start 2 imps and use the Canadians in place of a DI, or we could start 1 Canadian and roster an imp back up. We could end up with 3 imp lbers, but If we do I think we are likely worse off. Our jones is limited in what he can do, new jones is far less limited, kyrie is a shadow of his former self, Ayers is the guy I want to see kept/played/developed more than any other imp lber. Unless some thing drastic changes. next week or two we have Shay join us up here, Kyrie is an easy walk away from guy, and Tony jones limitation in the pass game makes him easily replaced by Jonathon jones, and Ayers. Plus we got Makonzo and the role of the dime will. Now maybe Kyrie has found the fountain of youth, or Tony jones has found prime bighills range in pass pro, but I sure would bet against either of those things happening.
  16. 3 starting imp ol with 6 ol on the ar makes us soo much better on the field than 2 starting imp and 7 ol. Success in football largely boils down to protecting your passer, and disrupting the opposition passer. Las year we disrupted the other teams passer with the back end of our coverage. Our primary limiting factor last year and this year will be pass pro. And to best way to support our pass pro, is starting an IMP g in all likelihood, and instead of going an extra blocker on the line going with a guy like MCI in a 2 back set so we have an extra layer of protection on either side of zach. I'm hopeful schoen will return to form. We need mitchell/white/sterns and or a rookie to pan out really well. We have a margin for error with the number of bodies we have, but we don't have a margin for underachieving. Some one or maybe 2 wrs needs to step up big for us. Makonzo and the NI lbers are going to be huge for our ratio. If we can use Makonzo as our dime pack will instead of an imp that gives us a ton of help shaping up the roster. The hard part is going to be limiting our imp lber commitments.
  17. Should be a big push by Guys like gowanlok, Novak, etc to take the last spot over a 7th ol. I’d be ok with schmeck taking Jake’s spot and being the 7th ol as the 7th dl. But short of injury I don’t think that happens.
  18. My guess is with this timing he wasn’t gonna be physically ready or didn’t put in the work they were looking for. the elk also signed Jonathon rosery who I wish we never cut.
  19. It is. I don’t think it’d be financially viable to have these guys playing all over. I think it’d have to atleast start out as a south Ontario to qubec thing. With in a 4 hour ish drive radius you have a ton of infrastructure. It you send kids there who aren’t gonna be in the cfl, give them a chance to make it and 25-35k, you’ll scoop up a huge portion of the guys who fall out of the league. I might add globals as well. Say a limit of 5 globals and 5 Americans per team.
  20. 100% over due. I think you could run it out of a satellite market like the xfl did for a while. Ontario probably gives you the most places to play and teams to pull support from. Though for greedy reasons I’d want it in the parties. You could run a spring league of 5-6 games then run an in season league of say 8 games. that way you have every one available for cfl tcs, you scoop all the cut kids, and if any take big steps they are available mid season for teams that need injury replacements.
  21. https://3downnation.com/2025/05/04/blue-bombers-gm-kyle-walters-cfls-tweaked-roster-rule-stinks-for-late-round-draft-picks/ TLDR, not a rule change just enforcement change. 1/3 if guys sent back make an ar for 1 game, 1 notable impact player recently. For us, this years pick Iwinosa Uwubanmwen won’t be in camp this year and will be a none counter next year. Also last years picks Kalra and Vlahogiannis won’t be in camp.
  22. Thought I’d throw out the remaining schedule till kick off May 7th, rookie camp. May 10th cut down to 85 players excluding none counters May 11th TC opens May 13th cut down to 75 players May 24th first pre season game, at home vs ssk 4pm est kick off May 30th 2nd pre season game in ssk 9pm est kick off May 31st training camps close June 12th week 2 our first game at home vs bc 730 cst kick off. We will have a bit of extra time to finalize our game day roster, practice and be under the sms to start the season with the week 1 bye.
  23. I mean, surely he can punt really poorly at worst. Just like our current punter.
  24. I mean, I never wanted to like blm or see him in the cfl post career but he sure made me do it.
  25. Yup. People forget he was a db in the NFL for 4 years. He played special teams for ott. He had like 150 tackles in the NFL. Guy was a blood n guts gritty tough football player. And to meet him as a person, humble down to earth smart and classy. lol we can hate the player and love the guy. Just like blm.
