  1. Agree, but I think the time to do that comes much later. If another bighill type of nfl cut comes available, then go over. I wouldnt do it any earlier then that. Still need flexibility in camp and the season.
  2. 700k? nah I wouldnt do that. Not unless the cap goes up a good bit. I would make an offer though. And I think every team in the league would be wise to do so. If some one wants to go full crazy, even better. Now they have hand cuffed their own cap status. After last year I dont think nichols is in teir two. Top of teir 3 and threatening t2 again for sure. If rounded up favorably, Hes still behind masoli and harris imo. Im not a fan of masoli though. agree. The question will be how long we can maintain that. If we did it past next year and gave streveler a raise things would get awful tight imo. But for now its a great situation for us.
  3. Id split em up on opposite sides, matthews at slot adams at wr. Let them stretch the field vertically and let matthews pull the sam away from the box. Chris williams skill set would be amazing in plops system. If we could get two low risk hi reward types, like williams, matthews, roosevelt, arceneaux etc thatd be a win in my books. Also leaves us the flexibility to cut one or both of those guys or others to bring in an NFL camp cut like duke williams should he shake loose.
  4. two very different players though. With out bighill id take sherrit over jsk.
  5. Imo, if the best qb in the league hits free agency every team should be in on it. That said MR didnt really hit fa. Always consider every position, especially when you have an easy chance to upgrade. But to put too much work into it is a waste.
  6. The most active and least productive at the same time.
  7. sure feels like it ya? chances they go to the grey cup are pretty high right now
  8. yup. sam isnt more important then S. Id much rather have a great coverage S, then a great coverage sam. You can hide a poorer coverage guy at either position, its just more commonly done at S.
  9. Depends on the player. If its a Mo leggett type when he was at S, a cover guy sure. An extra in the tackle box type guy? nah.
  10. Might be some credence to this type of strategy. If you arent gonna be one of the top couple winners of the first stretch of FA spending, being the team that wins the most from NFL returnees might be even better.
  11. I feel like his limitations are well-known league-wide and no one wants to pony up serious money to him. Losing suhk sucks. Goosen had easily his best year, and improved each year. A center is more missed positionally then a guard, but its pretty close between those two. I feel like we arent likely to spend similar money and get similar production out of the FA market. Geoff gray is gonna be a monster though.
  12. Every day of the week and twice on game day. That said, I really hope we got both. I feel like we should have plenty of flexibility with a bunch of old vets getting replaced by younger cheaper guys. So long as we dont over pay to keep someone like loffler.
  13. I feel like any of the top tier fa wrs would be a huge gain. I would have loved to see banks in plops offense.
  14. My heart says ritchie and murphy, my brain says grant and murphy.
  15. I might use JR as a kick off specialist but yeah. I love ryan but you cant match cameron. I think thats fair. Return man could be interesting as well. Cameron was the better punter, bad weather, wind, cold, turf, the old moe's grass junk, didnt matter. Type of coverage in front of him didnt matter either, he just adjusted how he did things. Ryan was different, he produced bursts of yardage at a level you dont see from punters. Cameron would be my punter, ryan would be a situational guy. Punting out of our endzone? send in ryan and pin the other team in their end. Any kind of adversity in the weather or surface or temp, send out cameron. Then use ryan on kick offs.
  16. I feel like kicker and punter are pretty straight forward. Gonna do other special teams though, maybe some cover guys?
  17. I wonder if we will go all in on one of them to prevent losing both. Personally, I like chungh a lot more, but consistency at the center position is huge.
  18. How many of their OL would start on the bombers? 1 maybe for nuef? even then id rather develops gray then bring over any of their guys. They dont have the worst OL in the league. But the riders are handily in the bottom tier.

    UFC

I would say the top tier of quality was better, (when have we seen a showdown of 2 champs on free tv?) and the depth of the card was far better than normal. Hardy should have traded places with cowboy. That was a stupid spot to put the hardy fight. I didn't see that as an early stoppage either. I was pulling for TJ, but he got knocked down didn't defend several ground shots well, got up and got knocked back down. I'd rather see a stoppage like that 100 times out of 100 then see guys taking an extra shot when they are out cold. This isn't boxing, you don't need to maintain a 99% win ratio. climb back up the ladder and do better the next time.
  20. To be honest, Id put the all-time team in a 3-4 alignment. We've got a killer nose tackle, and 3-4 jack pass rusher and a glut at LBer. my 2c. I feel like Fortney is a guy who played at a stellar level but isn't easily quantifiable with stats. I think this is also the nature of DL men. Some guys explode off the stat sheet, while others dominate without stats. Also, averaging over 17 games per year for 11 straight years with 426 tackles and 52 sacks for a dt that mostly played on the nose, and was abnormally tall, lean and athletic is unreal. This was prior to the next generation big athlete being commonplace. As incredible a person as a player, and every bit as smart on and off the field too. Truly one of the most exceptional people and players in history.
  21. I don't think January is too late for an ast to interview for a HC job. I also think its a bad move 99% of the time when you prevent an ast coach from interviewing/taking a HC job. This might be the 1% though. Personally, im not a big fan of plops play calling. I think he is a phenomenal leader and coach of players. He tends to out-think himself but I think he is better as a HC then as an OC. Id be happy in general to see him move on to a HC job any place else in the league, other then sask.

    UFC

First UFC on ESPN seemed great. Very entertaining card with lots of good quality fighters. On the downside, Stephen A Smith. I don't like him, though he wasn't the worst. I wouldn't bet on this level of quality from ESPN ufc events going forward though. I do hope they are better assembled then the fox stuff. It got to the point the ufc on fox was more miss than hit with events and fights. I love the cowboy fight. If it leads to a mcg fight that'd be fantastic. A great matchup that should be very entertaining and re-qualify one guy for a title shot late this year.
  23. personally id go trestman. idk if he would fit under their cost requirements though.
  24. Tend to agree with this. Id like to see them air one game a week, plus the play offs. Even with out money changing hands, more exposure to the states is great. Especially with the start ups coming.
  25. Or they dump that chump OC, hire plop to HC and oc and hire a dc
