  1. You're underestimating it, a lot. Woli settles for a role but has shown and produced at a much higher level. Lawler was the no3 option going into last year. 2nd year woli was as good or better than 1st year lawler, 2nd year bailey, and 95% of nic demski's career. You just don't grasp the nature of the position and role he plays.
  2. Plus Un leashing woli with the hash change then wr core will be the best its been in years
  3. 100 percent. Wr tc battle is gonna be epic
  4. He reports what he wants to hear no matter if it's true or not. The same guy guaranteeing last year that the ratio field size and 3 downs was gone and the merger with the xfl was the only way to survive.
  5. Wish Madani would get canned. Nothing but a professional CFL $%^& poster.
  6. Pro day times are very unreliable indeed. Aside from obvious bias issues, they are virtually all manual timed. The loose rule of thumb when converting manual times to electric is you add .175 to the manual time. So his 4.47 fast manual time turns into a 4.65 electric time. Which is right where he was predicted to fall before his proday, 4.6 to 4.7. The faster manual time came as a pretty good surprise from every thing I can see. His pro day was generally considered to be more athletic than was expected, but he seems like he's never had the track refining. The difference between guys in pro days and combines who have trained for track and field or in a program like chris carter's FAST, and those who haven't is pretty big. Thats hitting the nail on the head with the hammer. He is very much a lawler esq wr. Big, more than enough athleticism, extremely polished with great hands. He kicked around the NFL for a good bit, and it wasn't based on size or athleticism. Though they are both good, especially for the CFL. If he had played for a decent passing offense in college he probably would've been a mid to late NFL pick.
  7. He's an excellent prospect but really? Those people gotta put the koolaid down. The elk do have a crowded QB back field. Tate, corny, JT, and arbuckle is a pretty good bit of depth. I'm not surprised they'd like to move some one, but the smart way to do it would be slowly and in pieces. None of those guys are going to bring a premium before TC cuts. They'd be best of bringing them all to camp, letting the position play it self out, then hiding guys and waiting as long as possible to trade them. If tate, or JT see serious reps this year the elk are going to be in horrible shape. Corny and arbuckle dont assure any level of success, but they give you a chance.
  8. A stamp player talking about becoming complacent in being good? And to the back to back champs? LOL. Dude has played 35 games in 4 years. And 1 good season in those 4 years. Reggie needs to calm down and worry more about playing a whole season and putting together some consistent production.
  9. I think incentive to return missed fgs and try long attempts is good
  10. Same mostly. Never watched live soccer can't watch a whole game. I like game in 15m on YouTube I love pitcher hitter battles but can't stand 4 hour plus games.
  11. Me too. And I hate 7 inning baseball. They got to make changes though. Pitch clocks time out limits and robot umps I'd like to see. I'm sick to death of the angel hernandez type refs and 15 minutes for a 20 pitch inning. At this point every thing should be tried in st
  12. More nis. I don't think any one went 3 imps for the year. If I had to hide bad ni talent levels I'd start 3 ni wrs before 3 Ni ol. Run ni dt an ni wil 2 ni ol c and guard 3 wrs or 1 rb 2 wrs. Lots of guys around the league not getting the reps to develop at wr rb and lber.
  13. Farhan is a professional cfl $%&^ poster. I haven't seen push back on any change talks other than have nis and 3 down football. In general cfl fans are far more open to change than NFL or mlb fans. It's not even close go to any spring training facility any year and you will hear belly aching about inter league play dh and home field advantage. Mlb fans are the most resistant to change of any pro league.
  14. It is going to be an incredible TC battle at WR. I could see a good 3 guys sticking on the PR. The widening of the hashmarks is going to be extremely interesting if it does indeed go through. I believe it will affect us more than any other team. Teams are all running variants of Halls cover principles these days. But they aren't entrenched in it for the most part. Hall is great at adapting, but man it will be hard to cover in the CFL. Our defense works on pressure from 4-5 guys and keeping guys in front of you. Which is a whole lot easier to do when you play half the field. We had lots of times where our cover bought our DL enough time to get to the QB as well. On offense we've long seen woli be under used, settling for a role far below his skill and athleticism. If suddenly his spot is as viable to throw to as any on the field watch out, he could easily be the top NI pass catcher in the league next year. Could see a Cooper kupp type of resurgence. His break out 18 season had him scoring a td every 9 catches (elite territory), with 253 yac on 650 yards 5.66 yac per catch, 14.4 ypc, with a tremendous catch rate. For his career since then the only thing we've seen go down is his number of targets, and ypc. Also, if the field is spread and the defense has to play side line to side line in cover, the run game is going to open up in a big way in the cfl. And no team is better poised to take advantage of that then us.
  15. Nunn looks like a gem. Tough athletic guy with high light reel catching ability. Looks like he got thrown to the wolves with the qbs be had to play with. And another hard nosed wr who loves to block. https://www.nfl.com/prospects/antonio-nunn/32004e55-4e40-8165-5264-83a6a2ad1fb4 https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2940963-antonio-nunn-nfl-draft-2021-scouting-report-for-atlanta-falcons-wr
  16. Cfl vet imp tackle To be a 3rd string back up ie a guy to throw at all the pass rushers to prevent over working the top 3. If he dies he dies. If he doesnt he deserves a pr spot. Bet he's a high character guy
  17. Yep you are correct. You'd think they could get a university film crew From each city to film it. Have some one from tsn show run make it an hour and bounce between say 4 teams. Can't believe they couldn't match the quality of last chance u. Follow the Bombers riders cats and rbs mainly and mix in some from the rest.
  18. They have the one in ott this year but a league wide one would be great. The ones so far have all been in Ontario too.
  19. Yep. The refs are often soo slow offenses have go wait when trying to go hurry up. They kill any attempt to run hurry up out side of the final minutes.
  20. Hash marks 30 second play clock whistled in right away and no more singles on fgs. Maybe on 40 plus yarders.
  21. Maybe bc too 100 percent would open up the offense. The ability to use more balance in target areas would also force the d to use less bend but don't break.
  22. Big Ben back on the ol. He's a gooder nice depth. And a high upside imp db.
  23. Certainly teams like the riders have been forcing none pro quality ni ol into starting jobs. But teams aren't doing good now. But teams aren't developing well either. Ni or imp. Nfl teams used to stick to their mold and we used to get high quality spread qbs. Now the highest caliber qbs available are athletic dual threats that no team uses well here. Mostly we don't even go after the next tier down guys. We get failed transfer guys who were big in hs busted at a big d1 school transfered and was ok for a year at a small school.
  24. It makes me laugh and shake my head. Its a damn good thing that every OL on our roster will have a much longer career than the average ol in the league to recoup all the money they aren't getting paid. But it also speaks volumes to how committed the guys we have are to this team. No marcus sayles, kenny lawlers, etc chasing dollars. I'll bet any thing that every guy on the ol could've got more money with another team since 2019. I could see Desjarlais getting lured away though, if he gets cut in the NFL teams like BC, Edm, Tor etc should be willing to pay twice what we could afford.
  25. The offensive issue is soo multi faceted it will require a multi pronged attack. For the DI, I think rosters are too small already. But you could tweak DI in other ways. Limit DI's on D, give them less offensive/defensive reps, only allow them to sub in if an imp goes down and is out for the game etc. That said I think the meat of the problem is lack of creativity in offense. In the past 5 - 10 years the NFL and ncaa have stormed past the cfl in terms of developing offensive strategy. The roots of the systems we see flourishing today are old, but they were long relegated to desperate junk college programs with low talent and athleticism. Spread to run, RPO, QB option run, and Flex offenses that run tight stacks and spread with motion / post snap run football south of the border now. Mean while up here every one is doing the old 49ers offense as seen through the lense of paul lapolice. Mtl has tried to institute RPO under khari jones but has not been very good with it. The CFL has lost touch with the ncaa as a venue for coaching talent. All we see now is former cfl players, who have cfl coaching lineages. No one breaks the mold. This applies to defense too. CFL coaching has become inbred past the point of The Hills Have Eyes. Each team should be carrying a none CFL coach like the global player we carry. Back when Michael vick entered the NFL the majority of his runs were adlib. The designed run calls were extremely uninspired and not creative. If you watch what the ravens do now it's like a student who failed gr5 science compared to a physics doctoral candidate. You could force defenses to have a certain amount of players on the line of scrimmage at the snap of the ball to make deep cover harder, or limit the men on the line to reduce qb pressure. You could greatly increase the penalty for punting out of bounds between the 20s, and change rules for alignment on blocking for punts so that it's much riskier and more worth while to go for it on 3rd down. More PI calls made the passing game much worse, but you could take out the ability to jam wrs. Lots of options exist to tweak the offensive rule set to enable offenses. At the end of the day, CFL teams are doing a poor job of investing in and developing OL, especially imp ol. Teams aren't following the trends and making good use of the plethora of athletic qbs, and coaching is stagnant. The teams created this situation and now want every one else to suffer in order to fix it for them rather than doing the work and dealing with specific issues on their own.
