Wrs sayles and a couple back up guys. Wr is the only position that’s really deep in fa too. Great position to be in. This. I suspect we are not going to give sayles good money. It’s a lot easier and cheaper to bring in a first year nose and continue to rotate Canadians at the other dt spot. I think sayles is in grants position last year. Has an offer and it’s not huge. Gonna sit through fa and see if any one wants to pay him or if he wants to continue to play enough to play for a last year type salary.

It does fit that a guy with his physical tools who falls out of the nfl lacks that drive and commitment. But coming out of Regina I wouldn’t put any stock in any rumour or issues like that. It’d all be on interview and research. Wj probably had the same kind of accusations leaving edm and ssk. It is also true that they tasted early on bad olines. But we also failed to do the same against similar guys. Qb controversy is going to be hard core. I’m surprised mcmanis didn’t go to fa. He could’ve gotten paid like mad. This fa crop is going to be as sparse as we’ve seen in a long time.

It does but if you are the 5th dl on the roster you aren’t getting many reps. Practice isn’t stretching out your motor especially for the running you have to do in the cfl as a dl. Nothing simulates or replaces in game reps. It’s very different demands physically. You’re talking maybe 10-12 reps in a couple drills vs 50 plays plus teams. And the difference between 1 on 1s, and a couple practice snaps vs having to run all over the field. Personally I think tor goes after harris and trades mbt to ssk. To be fair we gave collaros a contract and gave up a first in doing it after what 4 games? The upside is it’s not guaranteed. They can always cut him and save that sms. Free agency is looking pretty underwhelming rn

Yeah I mean a no threat qb is as good in that offense as any. to be fair he is probably the best short yardage qb in the league.

Take a look at how many games he played in the nfl. (15 games in 5 years) you aren’t getting stretched out for a longer run of games sitting on the pr.

I’ve been thinking that since the bombers cut him. Some guys show really well in practice. We’ve seen soo much for in game reps with him and he’s soo seldom even decent I don’t get it.

A guy like Lanier is really coveted in the nfl too. He can fill in a bunch of different techniques and get after the qb 6’6 280 if he played a few more games last year he’d be in an nfl camp.

I think people really under estimate how hard it is to go from 11 college games with a lot of time to play them up to 18 games in 20 weeks plus camp and pre season. It’s soo much harder for linemen too. also to be fair, Jackson jeffcoat has played 12 games each of the last 4 years. Over those 4 years he’s averaged a bit over 6 sacks as an end. And he’s making north of 200k. Probably a 2 year deal then. Though you never know with the cfl. I’d trade a 3rd or 4th to get him back.

I want to say he was on a 1 year deal. He didn’t play at all. I’d love to bring him back either via fa or trade. King of the C tier qbs. I think he’d be a good fit in tor and a better fit than blm in ham.

That’s some toxic ass crap and what I’d expect out of the riders camp. I really don’t think guys are coasting on fake injuries or malingering when they are trying to get to the nfl. when he was in the line up, the riders dl had the best pass rush in the league. Every one was on track for like 12+ sacks. When he went down that pass rush became a whimper. If sayles had played like Lanier did last year he’d a been getting hyped as our modp candidate. I feel especially bad for mtl. That franchise was just getting back to its feet. How is every one sending guys to ssk but ignoring edm entirely? unless cf goes back to ssk I don’t think any place he lands he goes in as qb1. also mbt gets pulled in the gc. If he played the whole game we’d a won. He’s under contract with the argos iirc how would he be playing in the us? No nfl team is gonna knock on his door ever again.

True but he also always ends up on really good teams. I feel like this will probably be the most affordable deal since his rookie contract. Being a similar age to jj and Wj it’d be a great longevity move for all three. plus close friends with Wj doesn’t hurt. I don’t expect it to actually happen but it’d be nice. Maybe slide hansen back to lber.

Lanier is really good. He’d be a good fit here but we really need that nose to make our d work. When you consider the riders have to over pay guys it’s about right. He’d be a 200k guy for any one else. pretty happy with demski at 190. Not many wrs in the league impact the defense as much as he does.

Man you can’t hope for more than what the mafia have gotten done before free agency.

Happy to have Darby back. He can play just about any db position and is excellent at both Sam and s. Hopefully ba stays healthy this year but great insurance at s and a strong starter.

Those guys and the top guys won’t get that money this year though. I think teams see those as the mistakes they are now. I’d actually rather over pay an ol than a wr. No other ni ol available is remotely as close to as good as desjarlais. You can have a meh wr. A meh ol can kill a line qb rb and offense. A ni starter is worth less now too with the nationalized stuff imo. I think that money is good for a ratio breaking ni who plays like an imp or brings a lot of versatility. For me demski might never have a 1k season, but he stretches and freezes the defense soo much with the run threat, is such an amazing blocker and a hard runner with the ball I have no issues with him at 180k. The defense needs to account for demski every single play. Pre snap, again post snap, and then even when he doesn’t get the ball head on a swivel cus he puts 100% into blocking for his team mates whistle to whistle. You don’t need to track gittens. You don’t game plan and practice to counter him.

Compare his chances and production to McKnight, and agudosi. I think he’s done more than enough to be coming back. Remember he isn’t a wr he’s a rb who converted this year. Lots of imps have cut their teeth in the league as generalists from blink to sellers to banks owens Holmes and Bailey. Also keep in mind natural wrs are almost never really good in their rookie season. They generally take a year of seasoning to really turn it on.

I don’t think he’s average at all. He’s def more raw than that but with much more upside. No doubt he’s a dangerous guy with the ball in his hands. As a rb I think he’s better than average. As a wr he needs to get a lot better to be really good. But as a guy who can do both he doesn’t need to be as good a wr. I’d love to see him really focus on catching punts and being our back up returner too. the mafia have shown they can really find gems at wr. Collaros has really taken advantage of a lot of great talents we’ve brought in over his time here. I don’t doubt that this year we will again see an insane battle at wr. No one is getting a spot easily. Im very pleasantly surprised grant is back and before fa. I really thought the late contract and low cost last year would’ve hurt us. Says alot about him and the team that this is where he wants to play. Love the guy, explosive and tough as hell. With the nagging injuries I’d like to see him either split returns or just return full time.

I wonder what gittens got. Could drive the price up for demski. I like seeing guys resign it’s good for the league. I think lawler will bolt unless edm gets a good qb.

It’s competitive for rookie free agents for sure. For cfl vets? Not even close. Though taxes and travel could factor in. It’ll probably affect guys in Toronto and bc a lot more. The living expense being what it is.
