man thankful we got lapo and not suitor

keys to the game Limit the run. we aren’t going to get a lot of pressure on harris, so we need to atleast limit the riders run success on first down. Hold to fgs, harris has long had a tendency to drive the field and falter in the red zone. if we can hold their offence to just 1 maybe 2 majors it’ll go a long way to helping us win. they aren’t going to out kick us after all. limit the 2 and outs/consistent gains on first down. if we can keep the chains moving we can turn this into a slow ugly grinding game. winning a shoot out will be much harder for us, so we need to control the games tempo. players to watch, vanterpool, wilson, mitchell, kramdi and kr/vaval. It’ll be interesting to see if mitchell gets half the kr reps or if vaval plays most of the db reps and all the kr reps. classic mafia roster management

used to happen a lot. guys playing repeatedly through torn and re torn tendons and similar injuries isn’t the norm in football any more. not for maybe 10 years down south, not up here since jones riders tore all the ligaments and tendons in tc. i doubt if investigated it will turn out to be at the hands of our medical team. they are really good. i bet they made a recommendation, and the bombers + schoen decided to play ama. maybe refused an mri.

I imagine he partially re-tore it, then blew it out. The fact that he tried to finish is still crazy, though.

we ruined in career. disgusting. -
I mean you can always bring suit. if he has any grounds at all depends on the medical advice he got, and how/if he took it. morally we are up the creek here, legally likely nothing happens. the league and the pa should investigate this though
-
i mean when they do the testing on the leg and see how it’s moving while they hold it, that’s a pretty clear source and you follow that up with an mri where you see it. For a guy who is fighting through the recovery of that knee and struggling to stay healthy a re injury has to be treated as serious. we could. vaughters and kyrie too.
-
right? you can play hurt you can’t play injured. playing guys repeatedly with torn acls etc is horrific. gross negligence
-
Havent seen it mentioned else where, but appearently Schoen has blown out the same ACL again. Same one he re injured, and then tried to play through in the LDC. Guy was clearly not even close to ready all year. Yet we've kept trying to hammer him back into the roster. And now, we've very, very likely ruined him and his career. Clearly, the guy will play through any level of pain and try to help his team out. The staff, and especially Mos have failed to protect him as a player, and the teams investment in him. It's a series of unforgiveable, unconscionable mistakes. They just ruined a generational talent, and who knows what his quality of life will end up like down the road.

On one hand I'd rather see houston in, on the other, some continuity might be good for the young guys. I wonder if Kramdi is going to be playing 2nd S etc again. Griffin is better than package wil, if any thing he should start over either corner. I hope vanterpool starts. Glad we aren't gonna be in a bad spot with vibert or eli at G. I'd rather keep Cobb on than corc. he has good hand's but not a lot else, where as cobb can fill in and do a lot more in a pinch. I wonder if Mitchell will take part of the return duties with logan off. WR core could be decent, if we use mitchell and wheatfall actually has a game. I'd like to see one of those 2 sat if they struggle though. hate the DL. 100%. IIRC, Makonzo has been practicing for a while. Shay and Smith are extremely high upside Nis that need reps. We are over extending at DL, if we ran an imp dt again we wouldn't be. bailey at DE gives us the ability to create ratio flex with de. Wr isn't real thin for NI, cobb is on the pr and shouldn't be imo. Peterson is an excellent back up ni rb, Ol is thin with injuries. Eli/wallace as back ups with vanterpool back is actually pretty good ni depth. Imo, the problem is our use of canadians. We over use some guys who shouldn't be on the AR, and under use younger better players. Then we also over extend our ratio flexibility by taking off the wrong imps.

If Jake went up, we would have to put about 100 other guys up. Tyrone jones announced just this year, no guy like jake is ever getting to the ring. Nuef isn't going to get a shot, and he would be far more worthy. Zach, wj, bryant and if brady keeps it up for a few more years he goes up. -
Centres do, actually. Teams play a nose, twist, or cross face our centre on the massive majority of passing downs.
-
man eli has struggled in pass pro at G, vibert has upside but i think he’s a year two step up away from being a guy you’re comfy with. That said, it’d be funny if vibert is on the ar because then eli is the 3rd best centre at best on our ar lol
-
boy if wallace and vanterpool are both out we are in real trouble
-
tbh, if i’m them I would pack it in already. they aren’t gonna contend this year or come close. get dru 100% for next year, and focus on adding to that line so he can be healthier next year. Dru really needs to be healthy next year. another year like this one and he’s gonna end up too broken to be a qb1
-
it’s talent kyrie almost 2/3 of the season to get to a good game. he might be great the rest of the year if he stays healthy. but we could have the same level of play by now from one of the young guys with a future. It’s just wild. ugh kornelson back is bad news bears. bet one of woods/adams gets walking papers soon. I like oyelola, super athletic with plenty of raw talent. much better than weitz. but watch us cut bailey instead.

Khari was soo damn good at getting the ball out quick on a rope, letting milt run under it. And yeah they played like they had a headset and mic to each other. Such a thing of beauty to watch.

I'm a bit split on that. On one hand, the gm is ultimately the one responsible for on field product. If he defers to the HC (and I think walters does to mos), and it doens't work out, the gm is as much to blame as the hc. I think rookie talent has been where it needs to be in this and the last camp. Not as much the prior year. Even when I look at the current roster, Vaval has been drastically better as a kr than Logan ever has. Logan has been a bust on offence (doesn't look right at all currently.) and peterson has been better for certain. Adams and Woods are our 2 best DTs by a lot, but are on the PR. We'd be better off with houston or woodey playing the db reps vaval has gotten, and probably lawson jr too. person has been our best Dl and played the fewest snaps. We've got young, athletic defenders who make an impact when given a chance in Jjones, shay, smith, and ayers, but we won't let them grow into and over take vets. We've wasted soo many final roster spots on guys like korny, Weitz etc but refuse to give bailey a look. \ We keep guys like case kicking around for no reason as well. Thats all on mos, and thats before you get into the can of worms that is thomas/kola. I think the easiest way to fix the problem with the mafia, is to shake up the top end. I think it's easier to find a GM, than a HC, and a gm who would actually be MOS' boss holding him responsible could get him back on the right track possibly. I also don't think we are approaching a point where the only way forward is firing a mafia guy, I think it's long past. -

Nailed it. Also the one game against mtl. last time brady had 20 (or more than 18 even) or more caries in a game was week 18 of last year. 2 100 yard or more rushing games this year for us, and 1 game with 18 or more carries. He needs to have a couple really big games to have a chance to break 1k this year. -
Yep. For ages, other teams busted us on looks like that. Going back to ricky ray in edmonton. Vaughn used to cut us up any time we blitzed. It's funny, we are soo conservative with route concepts, trying to keep passes in safe, easy places that zach just takes shots on his own into worse postions any way. Imagine Demski on a slant at the seam behind the second level when a team blitzes us. He's hard to tackle for box players with a head of steam. Good luck to the halfs and S.

The worst starting centre I've seen at a d1 level or higher for probably 20 years. Then add in this year he has the yips on a good 5+ snaps agame. -

yep i was just mentioning that in the other thread. teams cue off our izr/tire scheme very quickly. occasionally we will throw out a heavy set and run some power scheme, or maybe 5 times a year throw some thing like a counter/ counter trap, or maybe a sweep. Inside zone, outside zone, and wide zone all work off each other and take advantage of defensive adjustments soo well. they crash inside you run wide zone to use the Ds aggressiveness to take inside leverage against them grab out side position and bust big gains. when they start chasing to the sidelines you run outside zone and let them get side line pursuit angles then cut back to a wall of blockers. You can also use the jet motion for split zone, and run mid zone to exploit the D and break wide or tite zones with more multiple aiming points from the back in stretch or drive aiming and open cut back lanes. We have the back to add complexity to the run scheme and the ol coach. if we put vanterpool back in we have a much better ol to take advantage of. -
on top of that, none of our guys have experience learning or working in an rpo system. buck and suck learned from lapo, who imitated from game film. but none of them has the experience to understand the nuance of how to read the target, how to disguise the act of reading and blend it with normal plays, or even the mechanics of pull to release. at a pro level, rpo is really demanding. you have to recognize the slight difference in defender angles and exploit it quickly. There’s a great video on yt about peyton manning and how much work he put in to his mechanics on play action, stretch and other hand off techniques. Defences are better than ever at picking up cues from offense. It’s similar to how we never managed to evolve as a zone run, spread to run team beyond tight/izr. you go back to chip kellys years in oregon and soo many others and you see new wrinkles and evolution each year.

one game sure. the season or the last year and a half? no. compare best games to best games this year and still nope.
