It’s front 6, but we have kyrie biggie with cole as a back up and Clement’s behind that. Some good teams rotational Canadians. Need a couple more rookie imps for camp but lber is in fine shape. At de we have wj and Habba as starters with Hansen backing up. Hoping for kongbo and again rookies. At DT we have fox and Lawson which I’d be fine with as our starters. We have some camp prospects already, plus korny back. More rookie bodies another Canadian from the draft would be nice. Personally I’d love to grab a guy like oakman as well, he’s still a fa with a dropping price I’m sure. the front is pretty much where you’d think it would be. Jj retiring was a surprise but thought he’d walk in fa any way.

We said the same thing about desjarlais sitting around hoping for an nfl deal for a year with out getting one. And he, was certainly good enough. It’s not clowning, it’s just reality. It’s not enough, to have the talent. It’s not enough to have the talent and athleticism and the size. The nfl pr and tc is bigger than ever but the active roster is the same. Our rosters are small enough you shouldn’t see tcf here any more. But it’s very real in the nfl. No cfl guy making ar money should take an un paid no bonus nfl tc invite. It’s a huge risk with only a chance at comparable money. they should only go for a signing bonus and contract where they will get a buy out the deal if an injury happens.

Yeah I doubt he’d be interested. Before guys leave they have exit interviews with mos and front office. Contract offer comes in or doesn’t. Front offices aren’t filed with free time. Is it nice for them to say hey we are moving on sure. Is it realistic? No. Some times plans change and you need guys back you didn’t plan on. If you are getting close to fa even half way and haven’t had an offer you should be preparing to move on. That’s also the job of the agent. Follow up, schedule calls etc. if the agent didn’t do that they failed if you represent your self you have a fool for a client. I don’t know that I buy jj didn’t have any offer, I suspect just like Harris he didn’t like the offer and or strings attached. Jj have an agent? I dont buy that they have dpr calling guys to talk contracts or let them know we aren’t bringing them back. There’s no hand holding at this level. Does any one think Houston, or hardrick called the bombers before taking a higher contract with another team? Or had their agent do it?I sure don’t.

I mean trestman made the jump and I’d take mos over Marc if I’m rebuilding an nfl team. You can get guys around him as a co or hc that are more familiar with the nfl schemes, that culture and buy in is what’s hard to get.

I think he viewed him self as Willy’s equal. But Willy plays a hell of a lot more football every year, and his pass knock downs impact offenses on a whole other level. Reality is a harsh thing. No bad blood for me, I’ve loved his play and defended him his whole career. Fact is, he under achieved his potential despite being a beast. Jj should be a hofer. He’s that damn good. Instead Jake Thomas might pass him in career sacks. JJ should stay calm and in shape. Might be a call from some one like lemon mid season. That’s the real disrespect. Friesen uses JJ as a soap box to write yet another crappy negative article.

I can not imagine a world where cfl players want to get cut late and be surprise free agents and lose 50-60k. That’s a big chunk of their earnings. pass on woody baron imo. Same 3t type smallish dt we’ve let walk this and last off season. Sayles is hands down better than him. Save the money and bring in import nose tackles.

I wonder if players ever stop accepting off season roster bonuses. Soo many guys lose that money. Not surprised awe he’s dirty is back, but I always hope teams will move on from clowns like this.

Yeah, that’s a great description. It’s hard to tell how big he is currently. 260,267 bigger even. If he is close to or 270 he might even be the dt spot for us. Seems like one of those hard to quantify athletes. Iowa is a good place to be recruiting dl too I bet atleast 1 guy renegs on his agreement.

Big de, almost more of an undersized dt body, 6’5 260s with dt type of athleticism. Part of some really dominant line.

If it’s an incentive based deal with a lower base I’d be good with it. Love what he brings when he’s actually on the field.

With how they benched rose for the gc, and the changes we’ve seen already I don’t think ba will be old boys clubbed into a starting position. Great guy to have in camp, low risk high reward. Perfect scenario is he trains up other young dbs to becoming the next him. 5% for 5 yards of depth or more? I would, as long as it’s not at the cost of hang time. Those bede kick offs make it real hard on the return team. Another guy like that isn’t in the league tho imo I think that’s going to be the plan A. Hard to pay grant big money with the unknown state of the ko return game. He played it for money last fa and didn’t get it. He was awesome last year, when healthy. But not healthy nearly enough.

Stove made others better where as sayles became better as an individual player. Stove was more than the sum of his individual play imo. He also didn’t come close to maxing out his potential. Damn shame. Sayles though stays healthy and gets better constantly. We still haven’t seen his best yet either.

And before that Nevis was a big fa pick up but also poop and Bryant. We can scout dts 0 worries. Fox not playing was a head scratcher. I feel like walker was willing to do what ever we asked and played with high effort and motor. Mos loves that. I was wondering both of those exact questions lol.

Completely different players though. And Sayles was excellent. Normally we would run a nose, and a guy who would play some 3t as well as some 2, and end and really line up a diverse numbers of ways. Those guys were the smaller athletic guys who were basically interior pass rushers. Sayles and walker are both guys like that. Thomas has played that spot too when we had nose tackles. 3T is a very under rated pass rusher in modern football. They often get initial pressure, and either feast off a nose tackle or create space for an end. When you see 30 front defences get a bunch of pressure, it’s generally with the des starting in the B gap in this type of alignment or working into it with their rush move. They can be harder to grade in 40 fronts when you just have one and they dont take the 3t spot every snap they play. But their primary role is to get in the back field and break up plays. They start the pressure ball rolling. Walker took a good step forward last year after the first few weeks. But honestly I’ll be happy to have new blood at dt. Having a 3t is significantly diminished when you just run 1 and don’t have a nose tackle.

Oakman and kongbo would make me very happy on team friendly deals. Other than preseason he’s been one of the guys that come in for the late season pre post season throw away games. He’s looked real good in those sporadic reps but he’s also been hurt 2-3 times just doing that. Either way it’s next man up.

Hope we have enough left in the tank to get some D help but at this point we might be limited to the bargain bin. Kongbo atleast would be real nice. I can’t imagine he or oakman would be expensive.

I’d be happy if that was true. Biggest question is and will be his health. He can play, I wouldn’t be worried to break camp with him starting at rt. Either way I do expect to see a fist full of tackles come in. Hoping for gray to be back and get a crack at rt first and foremost. I fully believe that’s where he’s best off. How you feeling about today as a greenback? Lots of movement for sure.

I don’t think we need a vet starter. Like bc grabbing broxton previously. Imo you should be able to find a starting import tackle that can play, unless you’re in Regina lol.

Hey drew, yeah about that raise… just take it out of the 3 years salary where you played 3 games. I mean I’m sure they would’ve given him a reasonable deal with some incentives where if he starts / plays more than half the snaps he could get paid as a starter. He probably thought he had them over a barrel.
