  1. And blink was listed at the same 171 for his entire career, and maybe once weighed it. Holm listed as 180 in college and came in 171 on his pro day. If any thing, teams players are and can be smaller. You have far less big bodies on the field for kick and punt return/cover. Only kick block team has the heavy base. Last year the league saw 8 dbs under 170 lbs. If youre a back up db in this league, you are playing teams too. The NFL isn't stuck on arbitrary size limits any more, and the cfl hasn't been for a long long time.
  2. Holm is, and so is the other db on our roster that I listed. Fun fact, there are also 8 players in the NFL under 167 lbs.
  3. Funny thing is, I think this will be the most anticipated of his returns here. Despite how things ended last time. I love the guy, he an excellent football mind, I hope he comes in openminded and willing to evolve his system further. Maybe let Zach call the red zone plays lol. He would also take up the missing WR coach gig, but I think we need to get a qb coach. I mean we have one on our roster right now, We also have parker who is under 180 and holm who in reality is maybe 175. Jake kelly has a couple pounds of change in his pockets for his 180 as well. Gassama at wr is 158 and wilson was 175 at wr as well. For most guys, being 175 plus or minus 5lbs and under 5'10 is similar in terms of make up to being 6' and 185-190. Blocking comes from effort and grit. Not from size. Especially on teams.
  4. Yep. And I don't think DB is where we should spend money. Sam or other wise. With ford gone, we flip the ratio back, start griffin and find a new rotational dime to take the place of our wil.
  5. Like this move. Nice bolster to our ni wr depth. Ted continues to go after pieces and takes Garbutt. Argos scoop haba lol. The amount of time we wasted on both is depressing. Especially since Garbutt finally started to show well in the back portion of the season.
  6. Lapo round 4 book it. We should have a poll and place bets lol.
  7. Maybe we bring back bolo too. it’s what I’ve heard a lot too but now that you mention it I’m not sure of the origin any more. Though I don’t take any stock in rumours and insider info. For me, coming back off back of back season ending injuries while also getting into shape and getting the rust off is a process you can’t rush. Even if he’s physically 100% healed in time for camp, he still needs to get stretched back out and then get the rust off. Which is longer than a tc for most players imo. I think he’d need to be 100% much earlier in order to get the volume of work in in terms of SnC and also working with zach/a qb. Wr in the cfl is insanely demanding in terms of run jump repeat. Especially for a slot using the waggle. Imo that’s why we see soo many guys explode onto the scene and not be able to maintain a high level of play.
  8. I’m not ready to pencil in wheatfall tbh. Not after what we saw on his return from injury. It was one big game based on one big catch and run. Agudosi did a whole lot more than that. Would for sure be a lot more comfortable knowing dalton would be ready. But I doubt he will be.
  9. We def force throws to him. That’s zach, but he’s also the best 50/50 guy in the league. He’s a great route runner but he’s not a monster athlete. He requires well timed and placed passes and throwing him open. As do most of our WRs tbh. That’s our type. Big and marginal speed.
  10. I’d prefer that. But I mean how many spots can we drop ni for imp?
  11. Instant fix to our kr position, with a guy in Dillon who can back up/ be the 2nd returner. I love it even more because he’s a bonafide offensive weapon. As a rb and as a pass catcher. I love his style. Short but stocky back who is tough as nails, runs north south, and doesn’t let tacklers square up. Creates a lot of bounce off tackler plays and minimizes wear. He’s not quick like blink (no one is) but he’s a great balance of break away speed and acceleration. Very smooth runner who makes it look easy. Now, we have to use him right. We’ve not done a good job of using dis/multiple backs in ages. We’ve got to fix that but I love what this builds towards. Also reduces the need for the last imp wr to be top notch. I feel like the longer we wait the more likely it is we go with a familiar guy like lapo. Who has effectively ran a 2 back offence with out starving his rb1, and has familiarity with zach. That’s an odd one. Maybe Kramdi can play some s? Would we be trying to move stubblefield to corner or double shift holm to corner and him to half?
  12. Wrong side of 30 plus came back from a torn Achilles and wasn’t 100%. If we lose lawler, he’d still need to be on a team friendly deal imo.
  13. We need to find another under sized athletic nasty piece of work C to develop
  14. I don’t think Samson will get much of any chance. Lawson, plus we are married to Thomas and schmekel. He should get a good shot to be the back up but that’s not how we roll. mci big Kev and Wallace are exiting for sure.
  15. Parker is a Sam but maybe could kick out that said he’s not a guy we can bank on or pencil into the line up with his injury history.
  16. Not surprised how long do you give Lofton? Hardrick was instantly better when he slid out to tackle. Lofton is going into his 3rd year as a starter. He was still badly green for the first half of last year. While he got better, he hasn’t flashed being more than a replacement level starting tackle in the cfl. I think Lofton is better than average at G though. Id like to see Lofton slide inside (assuming Dobson leaves) and Randolph go in at RT. Otherwise, if Wallace takes the step forward he flashed last year, him in place of Dobson would be good. We need a few more imp T guys that can push Randolph though. Couture back would be fantastic. But I’m even less hopeful that happens. But Bryant neuf couture Lofton randolph with Wallace/eli as back ups would be good.
  17. I’m not sold on Sherritt as their dc. I don’t see that unit having instant success.
  18. Idk, we aren’t getting instant help out of the draft this year. It basically leaves us hoping to hit a grand slam with rookie imps to fix our issues from last year and what we’ve lost. 230? Haha wow. Seems like every year free agency is the expansion draft for the elk and lions. And yet still some how they can’t live up lol
  19. We can’t lose more than we gain again from free agency this year can we?
  20. Ted says thank you very much. I’m gonna be pissed if it’s a team friendly deal over there. I never really thought he’d play for another team. It’s extremely disappointing.
  21. Seemed like he didn’t make the grade. Could probably do worse than bringing him back but at that point I’d just go with a rookie who has upside.
  22. I don’t think he’s injury prone, far less than zach. He just had one freak injury and one dirty shot. I do think a lot of the value in him is as a guy to help groom the young guys and as a future coach. But I also think a healthy masoli off the bench gives us an excellent chance to win if zach goes down. Strev is a FA and hasn’t been resigned. If he doesn’t come back I think we add another guy. Hes wanting to see the fa market. Duke and arbuckle aren’t worth a hill of beans. Masoli gives us way more. Though duke is atleast maybe worth developing. Dole doesn’t offer us more than much of any one though.
  23. I wonder if we kick the tires on Masoli.
  24. Apparently fox tweeted out some thing cryptic about thanking the fans and franchise here. Sounds like he might be moving on one way or another. Love the talent, but woods passed him easily for sure plus with Lawson back this year it makes sense. A guy like ceresna you make room for, though I don’t think we will be in on him. I think it’s gonna be Thomas (groan) and Lawson in one spot with woods, hopefully adams plus a crop of young guys, plus vaughters taking some inside reps plus the 30 front base reps. Then Willy vaughters and Garbutt going into camp on top of the edge reps with a crop of rookies. I think our penny pinching for FA spending will mostly be more bargain oriented guys like Mitchell.
  25. I think we all want a satisfactory answer to that question, but I don’t think there is one. yep and to be fair, 300k for a wr in the cfl today you need to be like 2k every year.
