  1. I want to say second half of 2nd game he got a decent bit of burn and was really effective. Back to back pressures one with power one with speed that really impressed.
  2. Jones is one of the best run stop lbers, but well below par for pass d. Kyrie is shot. Jones isn’t close to the heap pile guys. He’s just sub optimal. Best case is probably tj plays run downs comes off in most pass downs unless it’s short distance. Jjones is better straight up. &nbsp It’s just strange to get jjones and be married to tjones.
  3. Cooley has that dog in him, as the kids would say. Haven’t seen an imp rb with powerful size and that mentality in a while. They guy is not going to be a joy to try and tackle. At some point some one probably tries to lower the boom on him and ends up picking up their own teeth. That’d normally be a good bet, but dl don’t generally get that. Last year adams came out of low levels of ncaa with a couple days at camp then played ps and quickly was playing heavy reps.
  4. I believe they benched Maruo for free lancing on teams when we were running some really bad cover schemes. I liked him better too. I mean, he’s a cfl sts caliber end of the roster guy. Weitz is tcf. Yeah I’m pretty torn on being bummed that vanterpool is out but excited that Wallace gets the start. This is a big test for hogan early. Let’s see how he used an offensive di, and a bench guy whose a threat. No sense to be made of it. It’s just some mos town stuff.
  5. Thank Thor they dressed another Lber! lol Vanterpool off sucks. Glad wallace is getting a look. Normally, Itd be good to be down to 1 back up OL, but if neuf is banged up to this would've been the case to carry the extra. Glad big kev was good to go. Look forward to seeing Cooley in game action. Hopefully, we use a decent few snaps, not like wasted DI's in the past. Roster mehnagement is same level as last week over all. On a side note, I know we love the odd big run by strev in the goal line, and the strev package that we don't use any more. But at this point, I'd like to see wilson do the short yardage and strevy treated like a qb2. Snafu I bet Weitz isn't here next year.
  6. Yeah, I don’t want us to cheat but damn it’s like an al team not using the dh because of ethics reasons. hope so, we need him and its a great opportunity right now for him. Bailey would be great, plus Sergio doing both jobs. But I might die or surprise if it actually happened.
  7. Nope, probably won’t be any until the roster is set. I suspect it’s just temporary until the new one game ir is set. Big Kev is banged up, hopefully he’s ok we are super thin at ni wr.
  8. Is it really too hard to use with in the rules? Or are we that high and mighty? Serious question, if we turned back the clock to the beginning of the DI rule, would we ignore that rule? It feels like arrogance. Like we will win with who ever we run out, and that Canadians are as good as Americans and depth guys are as good as stars. Drives me crazy. I can’t watch him in pre game or post game etc. And that’s fine, that and coaches show generally are tailored to a different type of fan than me. Just like the Tait interview video they did with zach etc. those fans need and deserve stuff too. Thought I felt the Zach one was particularly unhinged. I watch some of these and it’s basically our only insight into injuries and I’m not on instatwittertok etc. no sarcasm, I think the better the football coach the worst the interview/post game type stuff. It’s a long ass season, he had a bad year last year. If it was me, I’d park his ass till he’s 100%. You can ruin a qb playing them while struggling and injured.
  9. No on said scared of Masoli, said, rather play rourke. I dont think rourke has a hope of beating us. What's it like as a coach balancing all these new designations... Mos "The good thing about our team is we don't even mess around with it." Well, you can't break the rules, right? Some guys only get so many snaps.. "Yeah, I we don't even venture down that road. So we wouldn't worry about breaking the rules because we're dont even enter into that conversation, never is a long time, but we haven't yet." What do you think about the rules "I don't think about it." Some people have asked if we use the designations and just don't announce it, and debated about it, but here it is from the horse's mouth. We don't use the extended roster flexibility that every other team in the league does. Arbuckles' game would've been better than Zach's usual playoff performance level here, which is very, very sad.
  10. Lol I love that ending, that was one of the best gcs in modern times imo. I have a lot respect for what Masoli can do. And he gets up to play us. Rourke gets down when he faces us.
  11. Yeah me either. He has played us tough though. Rourke hasn’t ever. Masoli still has that lightning fast release, you can get into a lot of trouble blitzing him, and if he’s still got any thing left he can take what the D gives as well. I’m not sweating Masoli, but I expect us to slap rourke around. I always worry about guys off the bench, if we prep for Masoli that is helpful.
  12. He wasn’t excellent, but he was solid to good till late. He did wear down some late. think I’d rather us play rourke that Masoli.
  13. They did a best bets for every game but ours lol. Either they didn’t care or forgot. it’s not normal to give bet tips and picks on every game but one.
  14. https://3downnation.com/2025/06/18/3downnation-cfl-week-2-predictions-best-bets-for-als-at-elks-riders-at-argos-redblacks-at-stamps/ 3dumbnation doesn't seem to know if it is week 2, or 3 and either way they dont have us playing.
  15. I think that goes for any generation, sport, league, city. I don't think you could find a better duo of news beat guys. You could find as good combos, but not better.
  16. Yeah, a lot of getting past the sophmore struggles is about mental toughness and desire. Evans never had that, or got it. Dru brown made his bones that way, I think thats a big reason why he should have the best year of the 3 if healthy. I didn't think he played that great, I thought we played and executed that poorly. He was in the perfect situation. If we did every thing the same, I think they would've beaten us with just about any qb with starting experience. Truth. Also a stronger OL. If we had the argos level of coaching/execution, we would've won in a blow out with our roster though.
  17. Yup, also Dane Evans. Also, the fact arbuckle never had that success speaks volumes.
  18. Good point that’s why the pbp plus color commentator is such an iconic combination across all sports. The ones who also converse well are the gold standard. like pti on Epsn is peak sports conversation. Tait is fantastic at writing articles that really get to the heart of a persons story. His piece on hardrick years back was incredible, parts of it are still vivid in my mind. It’s different still in conversation.
  19. Yeah, he has to prove he isn’t printers/jennings etc.
  20. Doug brown would be my pick. I watched the one with zach today, it was soo painful they kept talking about people turning it off and I couldn’t get why they saw that but couldn’t turn it around.
  21. those splits would be ugly lol. For QBs especially, once you have a decent sample of game footage and seen how the guy plays when he’s game planned for, every thing changes. It’s easy for a qb to take defences by surprise, especially if he’s athletic, before they have film and experience with him. That’s a huge part of the sophomore slump and why it generally doesn’t get better late into that 2nd year as a starter. we’ve seen soo many fly by night guys who can’t replicate their early success.
  22. Awesome pick. We aren't going full doman or any thing, but the bands we've got for the game stuff so far are awesome picks.
  23. And a bunch of beating up on weak teams in that too.
  24. I don't know about arrogant for him, but his booster group for sure is. And I 100% agree, among the cfl fans I know across the league, most people don't like rourke. The media has tried to elevate him to messianic levels, but only succeeded in making him unlikable. I think he him self is the usual headspace QB1s live in. Maybe a little less crazy/egotisical. But the hype train is gigantic. Yeah, and I think you don't create excitement, especially league wide, by being a tire biting bandwagon type at the media level. If I wanted to pump up the excitement league wide, I'd be talking about the young guys who are poised to explode onto the scene. For us, guys like Vaval, Adams, and Wheatfall. Guys around the league like Brown, Alexander and yes, Rourke. Instead of pitching Rourke as the next/current Flutie, you pitch the 3 guys as the next generation of top tier QBs. You put them up against each other and consider who will be the top guy. Any 2 of those 3 playing each other should be huge, or 1 playing a guy like Zach, Harris, vaj etc. Thats how you hype up and sell a game.
  25. I hope itll be better than the 2nd half or so of pass pro but yeah. I think it will to, if we keep in vanterpool. CFL hype train. Tbh we see the same thing with a lot of rider players. The national CFL media panders to the largest group it can. And they think Rourke is like every fan's 2nd favorite QB. He isn't. I'll add that a couple of our guys have had their tires pumped here from the media for similar reasons. Kola a bit, Houston, etc. Especially on our OL, though.
