  1. Couldn't agree more. Great coaches make other people better and allow them to be great also without taking credit for their successes or throwing them under the bus when they fail. He doesn't toot his own horn, or jump around like a jackass, but simply is totally professional and courteous in everything he does. As far as the thread goes, I'd stay the course with O'Shea at least for a bit yet. He was a rookie HC when you hired him IMO that means you got to give him 3 years to see what you got
  2. Higgins would drive me nuts because I'm not as patient as he is, but the guy is good with young players. I think is a very under-rated coach. He doesn't panic under overwhelming pressure to do so. The guy won a grey cup with the Esks and broke out a pretty decent young qb, you might have heard of him, Ricky Ray. His players aren't afraid of knee jerk benching's for things like I don't know maybe a fumble. He has young Cato looking poised and confident in there, obviously that's not all on him the kid has talent. He has coached almost every position a guy can coach so he understands the game better than most. Also a head of officiating would have given him some real world insight into the inner workings of penalties etc.. Not jumping on your post or anything, just throwing a plug in there for Higgins, I think he is a very good coach IMHO.
  3. So far this week we are firing Taman and Chamblin, trading Kevin Glenn and Darian Durant and its only Tuesday. So ya we need a friggin win to settle the troops down before we do something we will really regret. Seriously though, that's just how it goes in Riderville when we are losing. We have had a great run over the last ten years, its time to re-tool, re-build, and re-focus I guess.
  4. No problem. Been around long enough myself to see him booted off our site under a variety pack of names. Its funny when ever a new poster starts up everyone always thinks its him.
  5. That's kind of odd considering the Riders sold around 25k season tickets that year that so many bomber fans were there isn't it? You guys can laugh at how bad we are all you want but even this year there are 26700 season tickets sold so the myth that any team will ever outnumber our fans in our stadium is simply that, Obviously you would have sold a lot of season tix this year as you came off the GC win in 2013 a good year last year and were expected to be good this year. Even at 0-18 this year you won't see a significant drop as the new stadium will keep ppl buying. If you go years without success 3-4 that's when you will see a significant drop. Where as the Bombers have gone forever with success and still sell above 22k in season tix. Putting our team rivalries aside for a minute. The Bomber fans have done a good job supporting the team through a drought that has lasted too long. You are right our season ticket numbers will go down if we continue to struggle but I contend that 22k or better is a number that will hold as we too have a solid fan base and we too know what suffering is. I've been there for years and have enjoyed the good times, but have seen more bad times I'm afraid. I think what's happening now to certain extent is the fans are not going to just watch things go down the crapper without saying something. Gone are the years where we are just happy to have a team. Yes some are panicking, but that happens everywhere. the crazy fans don't speak for the majority as it is in every cfl city. No one doubts the die hards, hell no one really is bothered by the diehards either, it's the bandwagon jumpers who crow the loudest about RIDER PRIDE!!11!!!! and how awesome everything Rider is that annoy people and we know damned well that they won't still be there when the fortunes have turned. What we want is a nice long streak of the Riders sucking so that these folks will finally STFU and go away. I hear that. We have fans of many teams that simply just troll our board when their particular team beats the Riders. Pisses me off. I see many Bomber fans posting there regularly. Few from Lions and the Stamps. Those people bring a lot of good perspective to the board and the discussion. Sometimes being too close limits our ability to see the obvious. Its funny sometimes I'm more objective about the Bombers than I am about the Riders. I guess its because I'm not emotionally invested in the Bombers ups and downs so its easier to see the big picture.

You're a joke, man. You have no life. Ripper is not Migs. I'm pretty sure, because he's not banned from riderfans and Migs has made other alternate accounts that have. Gotta be really careful though, Ripper. Pro-Rider comments don't get good reception here. Your pretty sure, LOL, we that makes me feel better. For anyone interested, I've posted under same name at riderfans for since 2006. Also Migs m.o. is to defend the rider management at all costs. For those of you that post over at Riderfans, you'll know I'm more the critic than the koolaid drinker.
  8. I think he should stance at least 1 foot behind the LOS. Bring him back to the Bombers and suddenly our pass rush will be a lot better. Food for thought, Willis didn't look that good in Hall's defense here is Sask. Neither has Hall. His defense doesn't cater well to pure pass rushers

  10. Willis continues to be a defensive liability and a distraction. He is also good for at least a couple off sides a game.
  11. Ritchie Hall's guy, I could see it to be honest. Although just to add to my suffering this year I'm sure Taman will sign him just to turn the knife in rider fans back before we fire his azz. Given that he played his best years of his career under Ritchie Hall D (2011-2012) he probably would like to give it another run. But I still think he ends up with the Riders. Taman will sign him for 6-figure salary for sure. plus a signing bonus.
  12. What's the thoughts on Suber with the Bomber fans? Curious what you guys think. From the outside he would appear to be a guy who can inject some energy/ fire into our sad defence. I know he is short. What else?

  15. it's not even a matter of being that good... if teams kicked to him 3 or 4 times a game I believe he might have a shot at getting at least 10... but as Mtl showed last night, teams have already stopped kicking to him... Not sure how old you are. Gizmo was the most explosive kick returner I've ever seen, bar none. Kicking away from him was just basic smart football. He turned a lot of games around for the Esks. IMHO Banks doesn't compare at all. Haha, are you suggesting I said Banks is better than Gizmo?? that's quite the stretch considering neither of us even mentioned Gizmo... I'll I'm saying is talent isn't even a factor b/c teams will not kick to him (which is literally what I said the first time)... same logic applied to Gizmo... I wasn't saying that at all. What I was getting at was I was wondering if were old enough to see Gizmo play? My point was he was a whole lot better and he never did it either for the same reason you had mentioned, no one kicked to him unless they had to. I was trying to agree with you.
  16. You are right, much the same as holding. There is almost a tug or pull on every block, its the guys that don't know when to let go that often get called.

IMHO Banks doesn't compare at all. Pinball in his day was no slouch either. Pinball was great as well, no question. The thing that stands out for me with Gizmo Williams was the sheer power in his running. He took it to the house in a hurry. Didn't take him long to cover the length of the field, he was fast and powerful.
  18. Every fan base does it. Thing I always liked about the angry Frenchman is what u see is what u get.
  19. At least Stoudamire has some size also. I was disappointed when the riders let him go. It was a mistake.

  21. Get over yourself Banks. Is not gonna happen. You aren't that good.
  22. What case did he have exactly? Explain please. He signed a contract, played dumb later. The cfl arbitrator upheld that the contract was valid. A non football court later ruled otherwise. The Tiger cats would have won the appeal IMO. The cats were likely so sick of Williams at that point they didn't want him back anyway. If Williams as you say was sure he would win he wouldn't have signed a agreement to return to the Cats. It was a joke to the league that whole situation, likely why the Chris Williams clause is in new cba that teams have to offer the 1 plus 1 to prevent other players from pulling the same sh&t again. He got what he wanted didn't he? Yes he did. thanks for clearing that up.
  23. The penalty was a fine, the cats never got one. The cfpa never asked that one be imposed. Also even the fineable offense did not nullify the contract Williams had with the cats. The supreme court of Ontario ruled Williams basically didn't have to honor contract with Cats and he was free to go. Which was basically a joke.

  25. Maybe I'm missing something here, but why in the world would Hervey have to prove anything. A contract was offered and accepted. If the player wants a 1+1 then the player should demand it and refuse to accept the offer on the table. Yeah I don't understand that either. Is there anyone who can explain the reasoning behind that? If Edmonton only offers 2+1 shouldn't it be up to the player and his representation to say "I want a 1+1 contract? I suspect Hervey told him he couldn't offer the 1 plus 1 and that is the heart of the issue. Wasn't that the driving force between whatshisname and the tiger cats when he alleged the same thing, that Austin hadn't offered him the 1 plus 1? I could be out to lunch here. Williams fought the same thing while he was with the Cats. Williams had no case. But from what I gather McCoil signed on May 31st and new CBA was ratified on June 13 which demands teams offer the 1 plus 1. So technically McCoil really doesn't have a case either, hence the I'm not suing comment.
