Huh? I was thinking neither one of them had any balls. What takes balls is not going with your favorites all the time and giving other players a chance to play, especially when the current ones are shitting the bed. Don't confuse balls with stupidity. 61 yard FG attempts and ill-advised 3rd down gambles are stupid not ballsy.

It takes balls to kick an onside field goal. A play that hasn't been attempted in years, and won't be attempted for years to come again. Go back to judging that field goal last year all you want. Going for it on 3rd down is just as 50/50 as attempting a tough FG to try and win a game. I don't agree with the fake punt but it's not the first time a team has ever done it. It isn't the reason we lost the game either.

Not sure what was a worse call. That or last week's draw play on 2nd and 10 down 16 with under five minutes left in the game.

    Lapo gonna Lapo.

The thing with the draw plays is, when it works it's a great gutsy call and when it doesn't it's an awful call. Damned if you do damned if you don't.

I tweeted that out during the game without response.

Of course, I also tweeted out complaining AGAIN about the terrible BP fan cannon, so maybe the Bombers are tired of my complaining.

What's can you honestly have to complain about when it comes to the fan cannon?

  4. I'm surprised the scoreboard hasn't been mentioned yet as a game day experience positive. It's been an issue with a lot of people for the way the large screen size has been utilized but I give them credit for trying this year. They have some kinks to work out transitioning to the replays but I liked it. Also tried to go completely full screen a few times but heads were getting cut off lol

  5. I believe a major reason we lost this game was because of our own mistakes, and not Calgary whooping us, which makes it easier to get over knowing things are correctable.

On a side note, the league needs to absolutely get rid of the option to challenge illegal contact. Pass interference is fine, but the illegal contact is just awful. BLM throws a timing out to the left sideline, his first read which was short of the 1st down, yet lets allow them to challenge illegal contact on the other side of the field where BLM was never going to look, ever. I know it's been beaten to death, but this is getting ridiculous already.

I noticed a number of buses still using Chancellor Matheson when we were promised that wouldn't happen (unless I misunderstood).  it seemed these were "private" shuttle buses (to bars etc).  However, they obviously had special permission to be parked in the curb lane with their signs out.  It did seem that Chancellor Matheson moved a lot faster (we walked).

The placement of the Rum Hut is still stupid and essentially cuts the main concourse in half (as its very difficult to walk by there).

We were in a loge area which is absolutely tremendous, by the way.

Yes, the buses you will see on Chancellor Matheson will be the shuttle buses to the bars. Not sure how many of them there are, but that's where they have them staged.

  7. The problem with this play is that once the ball touches the plane of the line, the play is dead which complicates the ruling.
I thought it should've been a fumble but I can see it both ways in this case:

    1) According to the rule the receiver had already caught and controlled the ball and made his way toward the end zone. Yes the ball was moving in his arm, but it wasn't out of his arm until after he was over the goal line, but the play was already dead at that point.

    2)  Common sense would state that a ball being ripped at, which then causes the ball to start coming out of the hand would clearly mean you don't have full control over the ball anymore.

They will really have to change the wording on this rule. Last time I remember a fumble this close going into the end zone was in '11 or so when Lobendahn hustled to force Chris Williams to fumble inches before the line.

Larger Video Screen  While the overall videoboard screen size has remained the same, the size of the actual viewing space has increased somewhat significantly.  Not only that, but various ads have been removed, and the live stats section has been enhanced adding to a much cleaner and overall more attractive look.

I had a feeling the video section of the screen looked a little bigger, but I thought I was crazy. It looks a lot better and less cluttered. Very big fan of the live stats. The CC was absolutely useless. Also, I noticed during the first quarter the passing stats were showing up as attempts/completions and they quickly changed it around which I thought was nice.
