People with no knowledge are saying this.

Or people just hoping Tyson could turn back time.  That hope was shattered after about 20 seconds.  It was very clear very early that even if the power was still there, the mobility needed to deliver the power was not.

Jones battered Miocic into retirement last night, 42 is too old to be getting the **** beat out of you.

A weekend of over the hill fighters... it sure would be nice to see the best fight each other while in their primes.   Jones vs Aspinall is / was the fight to make.

Miocic from last night was very over the hill and would of been clobbered by most of the guys in the top 10 rankings.

Boxing was in its hey day before the Klitchkos I would say. Roughly the same time that DirecTV was wide open cough-cough.

Former Bomber Terrence Jeffers Harris was in action in BC tonight.  His fight is around the 9 minute mark. I'm actually surprised they allowed him to fight (watch the fight and you'll quickly understand).

Those "reports" are apparently incorrect.  Dana White confirmed they are working with the FBI on this and they (UFC) actually questioned the guy before the fight but still let him compete.  Once they saw how the fight played out, they got in touch with the FBI.

B.J. Penn arrested for 6th time this year | MMA Fighting

CTE is a terrible thing.  Here's the cliff notes for Penn's 2025 so far:

  • 1st arrest: Arrested after altercation with his 79-year-old mother (issues with his family stem from his claims that his family had been “killed” and replaced with imposters).
  • 2nd arrest: Arrested for a violation of a stay-away order from his mother
  • 3rd arrest: Arrested for failing to appear in court
  • 4th arrest: Arrested for violating a restraining order by breaching a property
  • 5th arrest: Arrested for entering a property and violating a court ordered protection order filed by his mother
  • 6th arrest: Arrested for third-degree assault on a 45 year old man

With how long he's fought and the number of head strikes he's taken, you can probably add Max Holloway to the list too.  He's just not as far gone as Tony.

Well the Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua "fight" was something.  A whole lot of running, very little action and the expected result.

Back to fighting tomato cans for Paul I guess

What blows me away is the amount of people who think that Paul did good and deserves respect and is a legit top boxer.  Some analysts even had Paul winning the fight which is ludicrous.   Clearly Joshua (just like the others) purposely coasted up until the end.    I don't think the fight was fixed but I guarantee they had some sort of agreement to have it last more then 4 rounds.

I was much more entertained by Andrei Arlovski getting jumped and then kicking the crap out of Jack Doherty and his loser streamer friends backstage.

I wish they would do same day weigh ins... the weight cutting is ridiculous.

As long as people are cutting weight, there's not going to be a perfect solution & incidents like this will still happen if someone cuts too much weight.  there are pro's & cons to it either way - one disadvantage of moving it to same day is that it doesn't eliminate risky weight cuts, it just give less time to recover.  Like that guy could just as easily have face planted tomorrow with after a weight cut that clearly went poorly.  The advantage is that same day's won't allow fighters to put so much weight back on so maybe they don't cut as much in the first place and force guys to fight closer to their natural weight.

Some organizations/commissions have restrictions on how much the fighters can weigh much farther out than the UFC does.  The WBC’s current guidelines advise that a boxer should not be any more than 10 per cent over the division limit within 30 days of the bout, five per cent within 14 days and three per cent within seven days.  The WBC is currently studying if a switch to same day weigh-ins makes sense so we'll see what happens.

Paddy the Baddy took a beating last night, a little less dancing and better defense should be part of his training schedule. His face is going to hurt for a while
