Bombers add 2, cut one from PR

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the additions International offensive lineman Cole Manhart and International defensive back CJ Roberts to the club’s practice roster.

Roberts (6’0, 180, Colorado State-Pueblo, September 8, 1991 in Boynton Beach, Florida)  played in 51 games and totaled 212 tackles (144 solo), 14 interceptions, 32 passes defensed, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in four seasons at Colorado State-Pueblo. Roberts also scored six career touchdowns on defense (five interception returns, one fumble return), and was a three-time all-conference selection (second-team 2012, first-team 2013-14). He was signed by the Arizona Cardinals following the 2015 NFL Draft,  and was released at the conclusion of their 2015 training camp.

Manhart (6’4, 300,  Nebraska-Kearney, September 25, 1992 in Highlands Ranch, Colorado) was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles following the 2015 NFL Draft, participating in part of the offseason workouts for the Eagles. A three-year starter at left tackle and a team captain in college, Manhart earned AFCA All-America honors following his junior and senior seasons. Manhart was a three-time All-MIAA selection and a three-time Academic Honor Roll recipient. He signed with the New Orleans Saints in June.

The club has also released International running back Joe Hill from the practice roster.

If a tailback at 4 ypc is one of your best finds, you probably deserve to be fired.

Marshall wasnt expected to be a big gain back I assume.. More so a blocker brusier. Seems pretty good at what he has been expected to do.

I'd say Adams has been the best find. And Leggett if he's a Walters guy. Marshall just needs more touches. Most of his touches seems to be near the goal line. Plus we don't run the ball very much either.

The only position they consistently find talent is at defensive back. That's a concern because there's a bunch of other positions on the team that need people too.

Who's Joe Hill?

Bass has been a great find and getting Westerman here was a real coup. People say Stamps and Hamilton are great to finding talent but when you have 2-3 holes fill its a lot easier to find guys then give them time to develope. When Walters got here he had to replace half to three quarters of the roster.

but it took him a couple years to find a LB or DL who can play, he still hasn't found any receivers.... it's not like he's had only one offseason to dig up anyone. The last regime could dig up lots of guys who could play, they just lacked veterans mostly.... when do we stop making excuses for Walters? he needs to get his **** together and find players are more positions than just DB.
