Heenan trying the NFL

Kirk Penton @PentonKirk

Now Canadian OL Ben Heenan is off the market. #Riders have released him so he can pursue #NFL opportunities. #CFL

  • Any one who actually thought the guy was coming here is crazy

  • While it really sucks the Bombers won't get Heenan, the point I think we're missing is that this is a positive, in that it weakens our biggest rival.

So you base your entire opinion of Baltimore on the show "The Wire"?

@FarhanLaljiTSN: Ben Heenan has made a decision on where he will be signing. Either Indy or San Diego. Received 5 offers.

Interesting because Penton reported Baltimore.

@PentonKirk: Sorry folks. My Heenan-to-Ravens info appears to have been premature. Will keep you posted. #Riders #CFL #NFL

Hearing that former Sask OL Ben Heenan has narrowed choice to two teams, one of which is Baltimore Ravens.

Who would want to live in Baltimore? Its like Regina only with more people, drug dealers and drive-by shootings.

First thing a Rider fan will say about Clark was he was beat like a rented mule on the play where Durant was hurt.

You mean on the play that was blown dead?

I recall everyone on that play stopping except for Turner... what a jerk!  :D

@robvanstone: Indianapolis Colts agree to terms with Ben Heenan.

I have been in Baltimore a couple of times, once for a week. It ain't a nice place.

I find it ironic that Baltimore Colts moved to Indianapolis, the Baltimore CFLers (with the attempted Colts name) changed into the Baltimore Stallions, and then were kicked out by the move of Cleveland to Baltimore.  Now the Indianapolis Colts can actually be called the Indianapolis CFLers with the roster including Freeman, Muamba, Carter, and Heenan.

The Colts have  been active in signing CFLers for a while, ever since Cal Murphy was part of their scouting staff.... I don't think Ryan Grigson (Colts current GM) was with the team when Cal was there but obviously there are still scouts who worked with him and liked his methods...
