A little bit of talk in the Transit thread in the main Bombers forum.
Looks like Judy Washawasha is going to run. I think she might be counting on the fact that much of what she said the city needed to do to move forward (raise taxes) that Sammy cried foul over, he ended up doing himself. So she could run on the "I told you so" platform. Also, with 2 or 3 right-of-centre candidates running, she might hope to split the vote.
On the other hand, she did surprisingly poor last election (pundits seemed to have the vote a lot closer than it turned out) and the plunging popularity of the NDP *should* hurt her.
Justin Swandel announced he wont seek relection, which is probably for the best. I wonder if there is a sense of a changing of the guard coming and some of Sammy's friends are taking the opportunity to move on.
Paula Hvac seems the leading candidate right now. A former Sammy ally, she's smartly taken the "I fought from the inside and was kicked out for being the voice of the people and we need more accountability" tact.
