Bombers Release Six

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced the following six players have been released from their roster:

  • Non-import Punter Brett Cameron
  • Import Linebacker Chad Faulcon
  • Import Defensive Lineman Marcus Hyde
  • Non-Import Punter Tim Hutchison
  • Import Defensive Back Sam Pope
  • Non-Import Defensive Back Jawann Westerman

The Blue Bombers return to the practice field this morning from 10:15am-12:45pm as they prepare for their second preseason game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday, June 20th.

Not totally true. If all 7 spots are full, you can use an extra spot on a player who was in that year's draft, such as Pavlopolous.

PR also got bumped up to nine instead of seven, but the extra two spots need to be Canadians.

Teams can keep a draft pick on their PR that doesn't count against the PR limit of 7.  Sorry.

makes sense - better than just hiding them on the IR like most teams have done in the past.
