Not once have I ever heard a player praise Walters or Miller, O'Shea built the locker room culture that is now self-sustaining, and that includes keeping it free of of doosh-bag players with the FIFO motto. He knew the type of players he wanted and Walters went out and found them and has acknowledged that in the past. Of course it's a management team effort and all 3 have done their specific jobs well, but the player culture has been built by O'Shea alone.

The six-foot-two, 290-pound interior defender went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Winnipeg has also brought back four Canadian players who were selected in the 2023 CFL Draft, including running back Jonathan Rosery, defensive lineman Collin Kornelson, linebacker Max Charbonneau, and defensive back Bret MacDougall. Rosery, who also plays slotback, led the Alberta Golden Bears in receiving yardage this past season, making 32 catches for 440 yards and three touchdowns. The five-foot-eight, 199-pound native of Edmonton was taken in the seventh round. Kornelson made 17 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery playing along the interior of the defensive line for the Manitoba Bisons. Charbonneau won the President’s Award as the outstanding stand-up defensive player in the OUA this past year while playing for the Ottawa Gee-Gees. The eighth-round pick made 62 total tackles, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick. MacDougall made 30.5 total tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery this past season with the Windsor Lancers. The sixth-round pick helped the club win a home playoff game for the first time since 1975.

With one year contracts now the norm, those decisions are usually made during the off-season, two players they decided to move on from are Darvin Adams and Nick Taylor. Similarly the decision to move on from Lawrence and Darby has probably already been made.

Exactly, unless these guys were considering finding work outside the CFL there weren't a lot of opportunities available. No turnover in GM ranks this season but could be a few next year if teams don't show improvement.

The only thing I could see motivating them to make the leap is a drastic increase in pay for position promotion, they could both potentially double their salaries.

The same could have been said about Collaros at the end of the 2017 season before the Ti-Cats traded him to Sask., most people thought he was on the decline and already washed up. He has cracks but has managed to patch himself back together mentally and physically and play at a high level multiple times over his career.

There's only been one firing around the league so far, that's usually the event that triggers personnel movement, limited openings, limited movement. The management cap "handcuff" has forced stability on all organizations and has given each management team time to work through their plans and prove they know what they're doing...or not. "Wasn't given enough time to implement our plan" is no longer a valid excuse.

Comes right back to roster management and why they choose to make do waiting for players to regain health, instead of using temp. replacements. It could be a money issue with a tight bottom line.

NFL PR money is not steady income, most PR players get cut a few times, jump to different teams and repeat the process, they rarely get promoted to a game day roster for even a few games. Brady has the option of having a spectacular CFL career or a footnote NFL career.

If Brown gets an offer of $300k, he's gone. Zach is the face of the franchise, none of O'Shea, Miller or Walters is going to think it's time to move on, they may consider it after 2025, but not before.

It seems half the rhetoric coming out of Edmonton is focused on stomping out any whiff of communism and the other half is changing the name back to the Eskimos, just because.
